Hi, for the icing it reads: 1 pt. milk and 1 pt. cream! Hope that helps!

My mom ex boyfriend worked at a hotel in Texas that President Bush was staying. The hotel was catering after he was doing some speaking engagement and they were serving fancy food. What was fancy food, I’m not sure but Bush wasn’t pleased. He was like “where’s the tacos, the fajitas, enchiladas??Where’s the Tex-Mex food???” Mind you this was in San Antonio so he expected food what we’re known for

We've got to see the apple salad recipe now
He’s an American. Just marinade a single sliced apple in corn syrup, throw it in some violently pink Jell-O along with marshmallows, chocolate chips & M&Ms, set, drizzle with more corn syrup, sprinkle with electric blue sugar & serve!
@@blueribenaberry if that was really an apple salad then the President wouldnt complain
@@matth3657 ...Sorry what?
@@blueribenaberry He's mocking you for mocking America.
I don't know the recipe, but I would just slice some nice apples of a sweet variety (Fuji, Honeycrisp etc), then drizzle a some kind of coulis (cherry or cranberry), perhaps with a hint of balsamic vinegar. Garnish with a bit of flaky salt and mint leaves.
1) This chef seems like a nice, talented man.
2) His anecdotes about the White House are fascinating, and i'd love to hear what else he has to say.
3) He makes Bush seem like a really genuine, wholesome, yet impressive figure.

@Selma De Faria Doggy bag, it's the only way to go.
As he dumps mostly melted butter....”don’t use melted butter”.....
I've made desserts. That small amount of melted butter would be insignificant. It will not alter the recipe.
Either the kitchen was quite warm or it was placed close to a heat source, since the butter was already in the process of liquifying.
Exactly what I was going to comment. But you said it first. So I'm just commenting on your comment.
when he says "melted butter" what he means is butter melted with a heat source and brought to a rolling boil in order to separate the milk solids and fats (the process of making ghee or clarified butter). The "melted" butter he is using in the video is just butter that is softened and left out at room temp. The fats and milk solids have not yet been separated, so it doesn't matter.

Hello Hilary Schrauf. How are you doing?
That's surprising that the President and some of his top advisors would interview the White House pastry chef. Obviously, there's are security considerations for kitchen staff but the secret service could do the vetting without the President being involved. So the reason that the President interviewed the pastry chef himself is that he must really have taken good food seriously and he clearly made a good choice with whom he hired.
Goddamit, another series I'm addicted to. thanks

Fascinating. More of this type of content please!
I appreciate this. It's unifying in a way and isn't political at all. Whether you love or hate the politics of the time isn't the point. It is just about the food, which is something we all can get behind (like what he said at the end about how food brings folks together despite not having political beliefs that aligned with that administration). I appreciate Bill's stories about what it was like working with different world leaders at the time... And who doesn't love a good chocolate cake recipe?!
