rereading a science fiction classic

i spent the weekend in the sunny garden with theodore sturgeon's strange and trippy 'more than human' - and realised i'd read it before! A little review of that, plus some chat about reading natalie goldberg's wonderful book on creative writing practise, 'wild mind.'

Dear Paul…you are defiantly not a braggart, in fact, this is why I enjoy your channel so much! BTW, I have something in common with your Mum….I had my first of four sons at the age of 18, and was thrown out to the wolves by my parents ending up homeless with a child, so I can feel her pain. Sounds similar in parts to Odd John by Olaf Stapledon. Have you read it? Incredible and quite unique. Published in 1932 I think.

I wonder what Bernard Socks thinks of these videos? Maybe he's a bit grumpy because you're spending time talking to your bookshelves and phone rather than him. He surely has no concept of your invisible audience beyond the physical world he lives in.
Your comment on More Than Human and Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children reminded me of the original conception of the X-Men, and all the overtones of outsider groups that readers equate to their religions, nationalities and sexualities making them outsiders. The 'we're outsiders but we're special' vibe. (Also, the Tomorrow People is another example - or the Midwich Cuckoos on the evil side)
