  • "Since when has, my dear mother, dawn raised" is a Bulgarian folk song dedicated to the last Bulgarian Tsar, Ivan Shishman, recalling his struggle against the Ottomans. His death following the Siege of Nikopol in 1395, along with the failed attempt by Crusaders to retake the city a year later, marked the end of the Second Bulgarian Empire. However, the legacy of Ivan Shishman remained exceptionally strong in Bulgaria several centuries afterwards, whose name is heard in a number of legends and folk songs. Multiple versions of this particular song have been recorded and published from all over Bulgaria from at least the mid-nineteenth century.
“Откак се е, мила моя майно льо, зора зазорила“ е българска народна песен, посветена на последния български цар Иван Шишман и неговата борба срещу османците. Смъртта му при обсадата на Никопол, и неуспешният опит на кръстоносците да превземат отново града, бележат края на втората българска държава. Оттогава наследството на цар Иван Шишман се помни в легенди и народни песни. Версии на песните са записани от цяла България от средата на XIX век.

As far as I know -this is an original folk song ,couple of centuries old ,passed on from generation to generation , describing the last battle , the tragic end of the Bulgarian Kingdom and Tsar Ivan Shishman , also showing the great love and respect that the Bulgarians has had for him .

I think we bulgarians have or had good sense of music and its richness and if people wish to see more songs like this one would be good. Sometimes to show and inspire if I'm correct in my assumption. Folk songs, choir songs, some classical pieces, military marches and patriotic songs most of them have character. Even more recent "pop" songs but not too recent as they are lazy garbage.

Along with the English coat of arms, they look quite similar to each other. The arms that appear here are attributed to Tsar Ivan Shishman and his respective dynasty (Шишмановци).

There is archaeological evidence that this is the coat of arms of Tsar Ivan Shishman.
Yes three lions like an English coat of arms.
