    What kind of monster spells it “oof da" and not "uff-da?" Or ya know, do whatever you like I guess. We could settle it over a game of duck duck grey duck.

    Nice video! Interesting...ha ha ha! Better than saying, "That's different." I grew up there and left for the Army in 1989. I mostly lost my accent and didn't even realize we had one until many years later. I eventually added y'all to my vocabulary but it was really tough. The "d" sound in "t" words like Minnesota are definitely a norm that you don't even about. A good catch on that one. There are lots of other words, and I am thinking of town names here, that folks outside the state may not know how to say. We're mostly talking about words that have origins that are French, Native American, and maybe even Czech. Places like Faribault (where I hail from), Owatonna, Wayzata, New Prauge, and TONS of others that many don't know how to pronounce. Even many folks in Minnesota don't know that Faribault is said "Faribo."

    at 2:10 if you have to say "you guys" cause if you're a guy and you do address a group of woman as "Hey girls" or "Ladies" it just makes you seem creepy

    • @Sophie-ge7ti
      @Sophie-ge7ti 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      William Purdy II but even a group of girls/ women is "you guys". It's just like saying " you people", not gendered at all.

    Yes, I have heard them all, one year we went to your fair state for vacation. My husband is really into outdoor activities. You forgot to talk about that nasty gelatinous fish and hot dish!🤪 it’s funny how regions have different things they say….for example my parents were from SW Pennsylvania and they say (yins) for your (you guys )or the south’s (you-all).

      I know you posted this a year ago but if you're still interested, I have some ideas. So the twin cities area (Minneapolis and St. Paul, and their surrounding cities) is where everything happens. If you want to live in a big metropolitan city, move to Minneapolis or St. Paul. That being said, even though St. Paul isn't a small town, everyone knows everyone. It's weird. I have a mutual friend with almost everyone I meet in St. Pual. Otherwise, I would say Duluth is a really nice area. I've never lived in Duluth, but from all the times I've been there, it's a really great area. Not a huge area, but not a super small town either. Other areas similar to that are Stillwater and Mankato. Not very big, but still aren't so small that there's nothing to do.
