- What comes to mind when you hear "Ford Pinto"? Exploding gas tanks? A cheap commuter car? Think again. The Ford Pinto Pangra is a rare high-performance version that could challenge sports car legends like the Porsche 914 and Datsun 240Z.
Thanks to visionary Jack Stratton, the humble Pinto was transformed into a turbocharged, corner-carving beast with a sleek shark-nosed design, pop-up headlights, and race-worthy suspension. It wasn’t just a car-it was a statement.
With only 20-50 turnkey cars and 100 DIY kits ever produced, spotting a Pangra today is incredibly rare.

Huh… I always liked them. I think and still think they have a lot potential!
If i said it once ill say it again 2.3 turbo is one of the best for its time
Very few people realized the 2.0 liter engine was the same engine used in Formula Fords. I remember seeing a write up on this car in Hot Rod back in the 70's
Thanks for comment
What’s the big deal here? We were doing 289/302/351 Pinto swaps back in the mid 70s.
A lot of modern vehicles are overcomplicated pintos.
