As someone who’s been in and around restaurants and kitchens for a big % of their life, that was my 1st thought. Regardless of the verbal diarrhea that comes out for the rest of the scene, this completely killed any immersion. Additionally, no matter what the temperature outside is, a kitchen with enough stuff cooking to feed 3 meals a day to all those people in the tower is going to be freaking hot. You work in there for 5 min and you’re going to look like something the cat dragged in through a wet field. The other day, I was helping my son in his kitchen prep for some weekend catering (small jobs) and after 15 min I was a sweaty mess and he has AC!! These girls all look pristine and made up. Again, no immersion whatsoever. I swear this show is made for people who literally shut their brains off when they turn in tv.
Seriously though, what is Mat even going to do this season? He’s barely in the marketing when he’s one of the main characters and (arguably) the most popular character from the books.

And anyone who rightly and entirely accurately point out definitively HOW and WHY what was produced Season One and now clearly in Season Two is NOT even 5% of any book is somehow a hater!?!
On some message boards I’ve had this “discussion” with some show lovers who insist that I don’t know the meaning of the word adaptation. The best way to stop that discussion is ask a simple question “please tell me one scene that is out of the books, with the main characters in there, some dialogue intact and in the same plot context”. I guarantee you will not get a response.
This show is one of the “flickers” the group experienced and the reason Matt looks at Rand saying he would never do that to him. He wasn’t talking about turning him in for being the dragon, he was talking about taking part in this monstrosity of a show. 😂

It took them AGES to release a trailer and when they did it was practically nothing. The team behind this travesty know how fans would react and are still trying to hide things.

They didn't need to spend anything on the plot, it is written, just open the books and do what they say. The outfits look like the waiters and waitresses at Busch Gardens.

I remember hearing from other sources that the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes are messing with marketing. Actors who are members of SAG-AFTRA are being told by the union that they can't promote shows. WGA being on strike means that companies can't get writers to promote them either. That's part of the reason why you have the costume folks interviewing here. They are not in SAG-AFTRA or WGA.
Totally agree. And they’re very talented designers with obvious skill and passion. But the themes and direction they were given just don’t essentially align with Robert Jordan’s works. That’s not on them- that’s on who is responsible for this non-adaptation in the first place.
the writers wanted their hogwarts moment and that is what the kitchen scene is for. That and also to introduce the Avatar the Last Airbender magic system that they are using now instead of RJ's One Power

I heard a lot of good things, but got caught up serving in the Navy on submarines and my reading volume went way down. I had to learn everything on the sub (get my dolphins), so that took most of my time. That said, I can tell the show is way off base (I had friends who swore by this series), as the show really sucked. It had a few good moments promptly devalued by woke feminism and generally reminding everyone that men suck. They also had a wide variety of races that I suspect didn't exist in the books, and the "pride" agenda was in full swing as well. So with that, what is this "not-insert character's name here" stuff?
They put out an article on Inside Amazon yesterday, it was just stills with the character blerbs. It had two comments and 19 likes, so yah no one cares. This show is going to be worse than we can possibly imagine. My God the costumes! What is Happening!
To be fair I can't think they would have had much luck getting actresses to shave their heads. And the armor is supposed to be BUG HEADED I think Jordan was thinking of samurai.
