Your nicknames for the characters are proving more entertaining than the show itself. I can’t even call the show fan fiction at this point, because it’s clear the powers in charge aren’t fans in the first place.

huh.. I get it now. Hiring an editor to go over their scripts would make them feel bad, it would hurt their feelings, and hurt feelings means hostile work environment, hiring an editor would make them feel unsafe in the workplace. GO HR!
It's the showrunner who seems to be the one hazing the editor.
I've read WoT like 9 or 10 times. I know it like the back of my hand, and yet I'm struggling to connect your summary to the book. I'm going to assume that this is WoT in name only.
The show butchered the story in the very first episode of season 1. The characters and magic system are nothing like the books.

The whole "meanwhile this, meanwhile that, meanwhile back at this, meanwhile back at that..." makes me wonder whether it would feel less disjointed if they simply reordered their film stock to let each scene play out in its entirety.
...but who am I kidding? That would give us enough time to remember that wolves are best known for their ability to see visions of the past.

I was so excited when they announced they were making wheel of time, I couldn’t wait until it started, now I hope they axe this mess. Before the story before they damage the brand and it becomes a laughing stock. Then it will never be touched again, and made properly.

Anyone else wonder if these shows (Rings of Power & WoT) are actually just telling us how high Real inflation is?
Like its so bad that you can take a zero or two off the show budget and suddenly it all makes sense.
At this point it's my personal head canon that some of Hollywood, Disney and Amazon Studios are just money laundering schemes.
You see movies and shows that are mediocre at best and when you look up their budgets your jaw just drops to floor, wondering where all that money went.
Why did they strip away Mean Girl's agency. In the books, she made the choice. It's very impactful to her character. So right now, Hollister should be leading the Hunt for the Horn with Gambler, Wifless, and Hagrid along with some great new characters. They also have to get back the dagger that Gambler had. Padan Fain (I don't remember what yoru nickname for him is) stole it when the horn was taken. Gambler will die without it Not Galadriel and Simp are off looking for records. Mean Girl passes her accepted test while Cliff Girl and Princess are BFFs because Princess isn't stuck up. 2.0 does not appear in the book save for a passing glimpse of him by Cliff girl of him moping around the White Tower. 2.0 and Hollister don't even have a seen together until, maybe, book 10 or 11 or 12. New Girl and Hollister do go off on an adventure together when Hollister and Hagrid and Hurin sleep to close to a Portal Stone and whisks them away to a parallel reality where the Trollocs won the Trolloc Wars 2000 years ago.

Cliff's story is literally that of many modern women... family or career... and she chooses career... first when she agrees to become Mean Girl's student, and breaks up with Hollister, and then when she chooses to stay at the White Tower. (become an Aes Sedai).
(That's according to the show, so far.)

At the start when "insurance guy" was walking alone outside with that small child, I thought man I don't like where this is going at all but it turned out he was just the beast whisperer. And if I had magic powers I would definitely use them to filter some used toilet water...I guess.
The showrunner wouldn't have the balls to make insurance man that evil, instead we'll try and make him relatable. Would've actually been epic if at the end of his monologue he just tossed her to the Trollocs and said, "Here, eat up, stupid Tuatha'an bitch should've never brought this little urchin to the meeting!"

I actually took it that Liandrin’s son will now die, can’t be stopped, but Liandrin was crying for torturing he son for the last few years.
Two things about the reds' plans: the tower is super high so any exterior wall is probably a 100 foot drop. You can also loosen some rocks with their mojo to make sure that's the easiest spot to dig through is the one you pick while the rest are in perfect condition. But yeah it was a stretch, it does explain the lack of guards though.

The smallest changes to character attitude/motivations as well as others reactions to them absolutely wreck otherwise "faithful" moments.
That and that everything outside of the moment is unfaithful too.

Subscription earned. I'm adamant on not watching season 2, season 1 was enough 💩 for me, but the comedy of watching recap and reviewers try and explain what's happening and why is gold 😂

Doesn't even make sense as to why Nynaeve (or any novice for that matter) would be allowed to enter the Warder training area and pick up a sword, let alone train with a warder.
I believe outlander man (bayle domon) is taking his ship on a multiple month long journey to do as she says with the 10 gold marks for provisions. Thats an expensive trip
To be fair, she also didn't guess how large his ship was correctly. Because she was like "get the fuck out to sea" and he was like "she only does rivers, matey". And she said "okay, use the shadows then, my guy... good luck." So yeah, when she gave him that money she assumed he had a MUCH larger ship. Large enough that it would need a crew and mouths to feed and shit like that. So yeah, I think that is why she gave him a huge amount of money for provisions. Because she assumed he had a crew when he probably doesn't or has a VERY small one. 🤷♀️
I'm looking forward more to those reviews than the show itself because I know the reviews will be entertaining. :D

He said things change in each telling of a story that his stories are probably all wrong variants of what happened in the past and everyone will have some screwed up interpretation of what they all did. basically that he will be the hero breathing fire and overthrowing kings and toppling mountains and rand will be lucky if they even get his name right. RJ is intentionally making things different because he is saying our history which is their -future- current day, it will have been remembered wrong via constant change per each telling. morraine is morgana.
I think simp is feeling his own feelings now that the bond is broken. Also, instead of gambler his name should be thief.
The whole scene with the water was so bad😂 she was like 'don't tell me what to do you stupid teacher' and later complaining that no one tries to teach her anything. Also they could have learned from the mistakes of the first season but no. Just making it worse. There must be people who are related to amazon bosses that got hired to do this because nothing else make sense! If I did this kind of a garbage festival in my 11e/hour work I would get fired 😅

You know, when Sheriam is discussing that Red went to the council for votes to send mean girl to her test, this would've been a prime opportunity to introduce The Hall of the Tower and actually have more people in the show than just those we've met already. Really don't like that they're trying to make Alanna's Warders have agency in White Tower politics. Those Warders wouldn't even want to interfere, let alone be part of any discussions. smh.
They introduced the Hall of the Tower in the first season. We literally got scenes during a formal meeting of the hall.

The actors they have chosen for the show are not at all how I pictured them while reading the books. Wow I am never going to watch the Wheel of time show (are busy reading the books however), I will also watch your summaries of the episodes, this is SO WELL DONE!!!! One of the sad things about this dumpster-fire... uh... "adaptation"... is that the YOUNG people from Emond's Field travel all over, meet people from both different races AND vastly different cultures... and make FRIENDS everywhere they go.
I would watch this on Prime... I hope my book gets filmed someday, and she makes fun of it.

I've been amusing myself by watching a lot of the eye rolling reviews on this poorly wrtten fan fiction about my favortie fantasy series. I've reseigned myself that this is what we get but am happy to see ideas from the book come to life on screen.
This is one recap that had me chuckling the whole time. Delivery, sarcasm and the way you see it is like we were watching together.
I enjoy watching the world on live action on 1st view but when I watch a second time, I basically have the same commentary in my head. I would point out specific things that made me laugh out loud that you said but then I'd write too long of a response!
The only nickname I don't really 'get" is "Cliff for Egwene" I know she had that one scene but there are plenty of other ways to one word describe her. My biggest complaint from the sub par writing is that while they make the men weak, they have all taken all the best female leads and made them somewhat weak in their very childesh actions. I wouldn't expect much though from Rafe's "The Liandrin version of WOT" I've said in other threads, I beleive Elaida was probably his favorite character.
How can Elaida be anyone's favorite character?

I binge hate watched the first 4 episodes of season 2. The high point was when Beric Dondarrion saved Moiraine from the Mothmen, or whatever they were supposed to be.
Liandrin beating Nynaeve and then trying to turn her to the dark side would have been okay if she didn’t steal the “let the hate flow thru you” as well.
It's amazing how this recap makes the show seem so vapid - but that can't be right. 🤔

I think theres a beautiful reflection and some roses...floating on the glass sea...and you dove in too hard trying to catch them....missing the point....girly....for a beautiful picture. Thats now blown out of proportions...its a well done rendition....its very deep....and the beautiful people acting it out soooo well....i have loved these characters for so long....

they actually did the seanchan dirty, from the godawful armor to the depiction of damane, that the seanchan actually are lawful and respects order, they will not harm civilians for no reason, even enemy combatants, and suroth the herald of 'the return' will not waste her time conquering a poor tiny village....(and where the heck is the female forsaken advising her?)
So NOW they're trying to do EVERYTHING from The Great Hunt? Except they're doing it in the weirdest ways possible? (Nothing is established, but they're just occasionally exactly transcribing stuff from the book; it's like they decided to follow the book, but with f'ed up season 1)

I'm invested in the story but what frustrates me is the lack of any geographical sense to it. Like I have no idea where the characters are in reference to each other. In which area of the map are they? How far are they from each other? Who controls that specific area, which people live there? Which land is that redhead novice-Queen going to inherit?

For me it's a tough choice to make when naming which show is worse, this or the rings of power.
I was more of a wot fan than lotr so this abomination wins by a sliver of broken cuelindar that I was recently hustled out of by gone girl.
Missed the guest appearance, but had a good time. Thanks for the recap, sure this was more entertaining then the actual show. Although it seems there is more of a coherent story in the second season compared to the firat.
Whoever says women aren't funny, needs to watch this.

I haven't watched any of this show. I watched the original trailers for it and thought it looked like one of those really cheap fantasy shows like Merlin.
