Yes, the GBD - H2000 is a better fitness watch compared to the rangeman, more confortable. The rangeman is designed for outdoor use, trekking. I personally use the mudman gw-9500, great succesor of the GW 9400 rangeman.

    • @fuloplehel

@@rb2112 Oh yes, casio is doing this for some time. Do you have watched the previous video about the new protrek PRJ watch? It's just a rebranded casioak, without any of the protrek functions. Casio is becoming just another fashion brand. Recently I bought the GW - 5000U square, and I think it is a great watch, but the other new releases are just not for me.

@@c1nek-r5g You can use every watch outdoor, but they are designed differently. They are even named in accordance with the functions and features. For example there is the mudman with extra protection, and all the sensors, without the need to be recharged with a cable. Divers are mostly using dive watches, there is the frogman, which is certified for this activity, but you can also use the GBD - H2000 for that, I think it will survive. It's more about the specific features.

Jim, thanks for the video. I have purchased a GPR-H1000. I have connected it to the app but not much. The surprising thing is on the app you can remove the options you don't want, like notifications, lifelog. To make your options suitable for your use..
Also I keep my rangeman in airplane mode as it disables the blue tooth & GPS to make the battery last even longer. I charged it about a month ago & it is still on 5 bars.

  • @ianmaw66

I really like the GPR-H1000. I use small o rings on the strap to hold the metal keepers in place on my G-Shocks with metal keepers. I do prefer the resin ones. They don't show scratches so easily and they seem to stay put better.

I also love ❤️ the GPR-H1000 Rangeman too. I own one and wear mine 24/7 and I only use all the watch functions on mine. I use it as a G-Shock watch. Not as a health and fitness watch. The GPR-H1000 is not supposed to be a health and fitness watch. It’s first and foremost a G-Shock and it’s very durable and can be used in extreme conditions. If one wants a health and fitness smartwatch, they should buy the Garmin or the Apple Watch instead. The GPR-H1000 is not a health and fitness watch.
I use all the watch functions in mine and it never needs charging because the solar panel that’s underneath the crystal charges all the watch functions with outdoor light and with ambient light indoors. I wear mine both outside and indoors and I’ve never had to charge it. The solar panel works excellent to keep the watch fully charged.

I have owned the GPR-H1000 for about 2 weeks. It took a bit of time but it has really grown on me. Bought it mainly for the huge display and the overall style of the case. Thanks dear for making this comparison video on my request. Great video with a lot of insights. However, I feel that rangeman looks a bit odd and out of balance as it has strange cylindrical lugs on the left. I feel GBD looks more symmetrical. Also there is a 30 gm difference between them. I find it extremely comfortable. It matters more when you wear the watch while going to sleep and that is more comfortable with gbd as compared to rangeman. You brought out some very nice and informative points and based on that I had finally bought gbd. Also except for the tide graph there doesn't seem to be the any difference and I think casio can add that any time because tide graph is not dependent on any extra sensor that rangeman has. It is just dependent on the moon data that gbd also has apart from that I am definitely not going into a war field with this watch so I don't need master of g. I think that's an overkill and that makes the watch less comfortable so unless you really need it there is no point. simple g shock does all the toughness job for me and if this is a fitness watch , it is made already to take a fair amount of beating. Thanks so much ! you make great videos keep it up in fact there is no video on TH-cam which compares the two watches thank you so much once again.

Great review.... I have been using my GBD H2000 daily for a year now....I have 3 other G shocks including the MTG B1000 and 2 king Gs but I always tend to go to the GBD H2000 for daily as wear because 1) as you said the comfort level is on another level and I put that on the design of the strap flaps, being the fact that it opens flat 2) its features and very accurate heart monitor...the design of comfort makes the heart rate monitor works even better and more accurate on all wrists....Its just a great watch man.

I would advice anyone to buy something that makes him happy...since I'm a guy who buys the watch with a purpose, very rare something hat makes me happy, even though Casio big boys makes me happy at the same time. I would say that's a real Rangeman, a bit modern style, but I'm sure, there was some batches which was made with a lower quality standards. I'm a more Mudman than a Rangeman guy....my Mudman GW9300 is one of my favourite watches. I would advice anyone to buy a square at the first place, that's the starting point. Also, for the outdoor use, a little square, maybe G-lide and a little real compass are able to do a lot better job than that Rangeman in a sense of orientation. And one important thing.....absolutely don't buy a squares (or any Casio) made in China, made in Thailand is ok, but definitely buy made in Japan.....even though that can be a hard task.

@@fuloplehel for example, a bluetooth Casioak is made in China, GAB2100, which in my opinion, and by my experience was a very bad idea....a quality of the material is very questionable, that's not the Casio level...a watch is basically melting itself down at 25 degrees, that plastic is disgustingly low quality...luck for me, I don't like it at all, I just like the colour. Every time when I put that thing at my wrist, I got a feeling that thing will just....fall apart. A watch is very real, not the fake, bought from the reputable company - from Japan.
Right now, I got DW5600 at the wrist, made in Thailand, 10 years, no problem at all, no bad feelings when I put it at the wrist.

@@termit520 Thank you for the information, I have the very first generation of the casioak, a black one with white hands and markers, no solar, no Bluetooth, buy great legibility, and it uses the carbon core structure, which is pretty good. I don't know if the new Bluetooth version is the same, or maybe the new bio resin. For example the GW 5000U is using a very good resin, the strap is very flexible and confortable, compared to the mudman gw-9500 which is using something else, and the band is still very stiff after months of use. I don't know what is going on.

To be honest with you, after your answer, I started to think about the Jays and Kays adapter for my GAB2100, and some nice strap, Wrist candy Watch Club maybe....a module is perfect, no complaints, but a quality of plastic is disgusting. ''Carbon core'' means nothing to me, that's just a plastic frame, which is a cheapening again.

My quest for a fitness watch has led me here. Thanks for all the reviews and information. Im an out of shape tile guy. Im looking for a fitness watch with the sensors to trak and give me feedback as far as steps and sleep and how everything is affected by what im doing. Not doing any crazy workouts as i have back problems. Loosing wieght will help, then maybe i can get more aggressive. Thinking about changing my sleep position to avoid being starved of oxygen all night but thats tough at 43. Want to see if its worth it. As i said, i install tile and have my hands in and out of filthy buckets of water all day that have cement based products in them. Thats why im looking to g shock. My simple g shock stands up fine to all that currently. Just have to hit it with bar keepers friend after a day of grouting. Aesthetics are not that important to me as much as functionality and durability. Looking for a bit of comfort as ill be wearing it to sleep. I also like the idea of not having to rely on Bluetooth as ive noticed that wearing a watch again has certainly disconnected me a bit from my phone. One of those things were when im just checking my phone for the time, i get caught up in all the other things going on with that device. Want to avoids that. Which one of these would you recommend for my situation? Is there a completely different watch you think i should look at? Thanks

    • @JimKinkade
      @JimKinkade  17 วันที่ผ่านมา

I would say to get the rangeman because it has mud resistant buttons that will seal out the cement. But be warned I did have a problem where the screws backed out of my Rangeman.
The operating system these G-Shocks will be good for your case since it's pretty simple, it has sleep tracking and step counting, and you can shut off the notifications to eliminate distractions.
I find the GBD-H2000 to be incredibly comfortable and it's held up when I wear it to work but I haven't really tested its limits.

You should compare the new Rangeman to the previous model, GW-9400. I have the yellow and red. I just can'T stand the new software they use with these new iterations. You are almost always required to use the phone for some functions compare to the olders ones

    • @georgeg1947

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with using the phone for some of the functions. You can put it on airplane mode and use the Rangeman as a regular G-Shock just like you use the first generation Rangeman GW-9400 and the Mudman GW-9500.
I own the GPR-H1000 and I use all the watch functions (time, stopwatch, countdown timer, world time, sunrise/sunset times, compass, barometer, altimeter, moon phase and the step counter) while my Rangeman is in airplane mode. I never need to charge my watch because the solar panel charges all of the watch functions that I just listed here. I’ve owned mine for 3 weeks now and it’s still at the 4 bar battery level just like it was on the first day that I got it from Japan. I wear mine 24/7 and I wear it outside a few hours a day and I doors in the ambient lighting. It charges with light just like the regular solar G-Shocks. It never needs to be charged if it’s worn like this.
