I use Belray 80w gear oil for the transmission. I use champion WP2 oil (cheap and works well @ 50:1). I use them both in mine and my wife's bike I have a KTM300XC and she is on a 125exc. Gear oil and pre-mix are pretty personal and I'm sure you will see tons on opinions. Tried rotella in my bike and thought it got to shifting clunky way to quick. Went back to Belray. Its a little more, but worth it IMO.
Whatever you use make sure it meets the requirements of the bike manufacturer and make sure it does not have friction modifiers in it as it will damage your clutch.
Your bikes are as always clean and well prepped. I would like to see a video where you go through things in more detail, but know it all involves work for you and editing time. Stuff like removing clutch cover, plate and basket check, replace plates, powervalve inspection and clean.Repack tail pipe. Maybe a video about what tools and spares you take to track.I used to mechanic for Honda and Suzuki and had both dry and wet wheel setup all ready for a muddy downpour.Simple stuff like having a few sets of handlebars with the clutch side grip bonded on,and all the bars prepunched to show position on triple clamps and lever positions, just to save time after crashes. And about having tools and spares on show, good as a team, but be careful about it if your alone and are away from truck .Stuff goes missing fast! Not that I condone riding alone, always have a mechanic/driver,or share truck with a friend who can drive if you hurt an ankle or worse.Plus having a friend on the same make and model lets you share spares like levers or throttle tube. I should do my own videos but am retired and 110% lazy, and you do a great job of conveying tasks in a clear and simple way. PS. Don't forget to order a piston for that CR250 build!
Oh my God! This idea with letting the throttle tube have some clearance with handlebar is a brilliant idea, i had some problems with my throttle return but now i think I can solve my problems. Well done, thanks man! Greetings :D
sok_pomaranczowy I had a problem we’re when it was cold my throttle wouldn’t return figured it was dust from sitting in the garage all winter but it was just some stiff and dirty grease cleaned it up and the throttle was perfect
You do really good work Cameron. You inspire me to do the same on mine. Oh, and thank you for the tool tips. That brake bleeder looks like it will come in handy. Thank you.
Another Rotella user here, although I recently switched to synthetic. It has outperformed every motorcycle specific oil I have used. I’ve sent multiple samples to Blackstone labs to confirm this.
I love your channel! Please keep it up! Most channels are here & there tips, you hit everything! Looking forward to seeing the cr250 build finished & every other video you post!
I bought the one-man bleeder that didn't work out for me. Then I noticed that I can use a caliper itself to bleed the brakes by opening and closing and pushing down on the brakes it works. The only thing that was tricky was that I have a spring on the brake caliper. I remove the spring that way I don't have a false reading of tension when I push down on the brakes
I was just watching your graphic video and you can spray windex on the graphic and it allows you to move it around and when you have it at the placement you want you just let the windex dry
I just found your channel and have been watching your cr250 build videos and it made me motivated about my 80cc enduro bike build! Now i know what to do exactly to bike to keep it fresh and good.
Looking at your videos convinced me i needed this fun in my life so i bought a bike its a shame that in the UK we don't have as much space as you do in the USA...
My kick starter doesn’t stop if that makes any sense. After I kick it it stops when it hits the case. It’s a 2004 yz 125 any ideas would help. I thought it was the spring but the kick starter still returns flawlessly.
Its probably the stopper on the back gear is broke, same thing happened on my yz and it was a pain to replace, have to take the whole clutch basket out to replace it! Good luck!
Good video all in all... interesting on the grease useage, I like using the dry lube. Lastly, use some enduro bar ends/plugs, saves blown out grips and prolongs the life of them big time.
Great video, man! Very handy summary. Question: If you tighten spokes every three rides, don't you eventually over-tighten them? I tap the spokes with the wrench listening for lower tones - means that one's looser. Ideally they all *ting* the same. Again, thanks for this one!
I am guessing you have a deal with Motion Pro? Why did you not use the Motion Pro rim protectors when changing out tyres in the recent video?? I bought some but not used them yet!
MX4Life 248 My garage is getting to crowded lol, moving to a bigger work space at the end of the month. Going to start filming a yz125 Revive I just picked up, along with rm85 and yz250fx builds at the start of May.👌 CR125 will probably aper some where in July 🤷♂️🤦♂️ and.. the collection continues haha. Wouldn’t be where I am today or as confident with my builds if it wasn’t for Cameron’s hard work. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
ColinRogers Films damn haha my dad has like around 8 bikes here so his garage is full. Alongside a car and a sandrail dragster. He has multiple bikes that are projects right now because money's an issue when it comes to bikes lol
Gostei dos macetes o que gosto dos seus vídeos a forma que vc usa os macetes e tenho uma Honda tornado 250 2008 é o meu chodo e as manutenções preventivas quem faz sou eu e com vc melhorei muito só luxo hehehe.
Michael M Nice, here the max grade I've found is 92. If we get 87 oct anywhere else in town it causes problems and hiccups like its watered down even in fi machines. Have you re jetted?
What gear/engine oil do you run?
motul always been good to me / bike lol keep up the good work
Motul 710 and Motul Gear 300. Great vid as always!

Castrol Power 1 2 stroke and Silkolene Comp gear in the box
"the old 125"? The thing looks brand new. A real testimony of your skills!
Sean Raymond i got a 01 cr125 age dont matter it’s just how well you maintenance it
Your bikes are as always clean and well prepped.

What do you mean getting ready for the riding season. Riding season is year around!!!
Haven't had a motorbike for about 30 years ,never had a motorcross bike but like watching your posts.
Oh my God! This idea with letting the throttle tube have some clearance with handlebar is a brilliant idea, i had some problems with my throttle return but now i think I can solve my problems. Well done, thanks man! Greetings :D
Happy to help!
sok_pomaranczowy I had a problem we’re when it was cold my throttle wouldn’t return figured it was dust from sitting in the garage all winter but it was just some stiff and dirty grease cleaned it up and the throttle was perfect
I was having some problems with mine too, I think this is my problem! Amazing how something so simple might be overlooked eh?
Always some amazing work. By the way, almost 8k subs in a month, glad to see your channel grow like that, you deserve it man.
Thank you! Yeah the channel has been on fire lately!
Cr500 build would be awesome
You have amazing skill my dude. I'd have you rebuild any of my bikes. Love your work. It's the art of cycling. Keep it up!
Cameron, your a good mechanic and a great guy. I hope your health issues are a thing of the past.
You do really good work Cameron. You inspire me to do the same on mine. Oh, and thank you for the tool tips. That brake bleeder looks like it will come in handy. Thank you.

Brian Williams what do you mean by out preformed
Highline 519 meaning that the oil didn’t break down or shear nearly as quick!
Mix some oil and rip some soil.
lmao, nice one !
AuMechanic mixing gas and hauling ass
Just learned a bunch of staff again with your videos, big hug bro, that CR looks beautiful.
I love your channel! Please keep it up! Most channels are here & there tips, you hit everything! Looking forward to seeing the cr250 build finished & every other video you post!
Thanks Tyler!

Your 125 is cleaner than it would be off the show room floor
cant wait to have a bike this nice!
God damn! Got so amazed when I saw we had the same chain lube! There is not many products that sells in both the States and Sweden!
MotionPro has so many good tools I love them!!
No doubt, good stuff!
Cameron your videos are very interesting, and all of your bikes look incredible.
Thanks for watching the videos man!
10:47 “Oh yeah she’s wet.” Had me laughing my butt off
Me tooo hahaha lol
I use the exact same Oil for my KTM 65 shell 15-40👍
Hey Cameron, have you considered a Magura Hydraulic clutch? They make them for all sorts of bikes.
I have used them in the past, just prefer the feel of a cable setup
Wow it’s a really good looking bike I just picked up a rebuild crf 250r can’t wait to ride it
For my bike kx250 I use Honda pro hp trans oil and for the trx Honda pro gn4 10w-40 and for premix Castro 927 40:1
Looking at your videos convinced me i needed this fun in my life so i bought a bike its a shame that in the UK we don't have as much space as you do in the USA...
Please post more ride announcements!! I would have loved to meet you out at 7 mile!!!!
My kick starter doesn’t stop if that makes any sense. After I kick it it stops when it hits the case. It’s a 2004 yz 125 any ideas would help. I thought it was the spring but the kick starter still returns flawlessly.

Dang it 😂 that sounds fun. Thanks for the reply dude.
Brady 2017 no problem!
That's funny, I just got that motion pro brake tool and bled the brakes on my 450 last weekend, now you got a video on it
At 14:25 is there any other reason the throttle could stick. Thanks. Good video.
Nice work man I run putoline both engine and gear box oil
“Oh yeah she’s wet” haha that’s what she said
Sweet I use engine ice too lol. I just bought some more
Great video Cameron love all the videos before I watch them always know it’s great when you make them
Thanks man!
Good video all in all... interesting on the grease useage, I like using the dry lube. Lastly, use some enduro bar ends/plugs, saves blown out grips and prolongs the life of them big time.
Do you have a video of change the rear shock linkage bearings
I really want to ride with you sometime. I am down in Oregon.
I'm sure I'll be down near Portland at some point with the bikes!
That would be sick! I am in a little town called Newberg.
Grazie per i sottotitoli 👍🏻💪🏻
Great vid! Just in time for me to do some spring maintenance on my bike to get it ready for the season! 🤘🏼
Thanks!
Your bike is sick
Thank You!
I like your videos before I even watch them since I know greatness awaits
Thx Nick!
Great video! The 125 is looking amazing🔥👌
Thanks dude!
What about changing your Jetting for the different Temps ?
I use mag 1 for my throttle cable it was the detached from the inside. i dont like useing wd40 it stays inside and does not drain
I run Honda's 80/85w gear oil. I'm about to look into running what you run. I change mine after 5 hours and it's expensive. lol.
my dream bike!
That's awesome I need to move out there I live in Orange in California
Dude, your on the good side of the state!
Yep!!
Great video. What grease to you have in your gun and where did you get the mini gun?
Thanks! Link for the grease gun is in the description. I'm using the grease that came with it.
You're really putting grease on the throttle cam? i've always run the throttle assembly completely dry... Keep dust and dirt from sticking in there
i put grease there aswell cuz it makes the tube slide better
Where can i buy these graphics, they look really nice
Great video, man! Very handy summary. Question: If you tighten spokes every three rides, don't you eventually over-tighten them? I tap the spokes with the wrench listening for lower tones - means that one's looser. Ideally they all *ting* the same. Again, thanks for this one!
Thanks! I more so check the spokes every couple rides. The sound method is definitely helpful
were did u get the restyle kit from coz i have a 03 cr125 and the plastics are abit out dated
I am guessing you have a deal with Motion Pro? Why did you not use the Motion Pro rim protectors when changing out tyres in the recent video?? I bought some but not used them yet!
I use honda engine desinged oil for my 05 cr 125
Excelente los vídeo saludos desde Argentina ... Seré curioso el cr es modelo 2008 ?
Do you want the same amount of slack on the brake lever also
Whats the idea with having the earth up buy your kill switch.
Could you use wd-40 in stead of cable lube? Or are they basically the same thing?
Where did you get the 2 stoked sticker? Can’t find it anywhere
Bro those fox shoes are dope. Where'd ya get em?
Picked them up here amzn.to/2IXsGoq
Why you dont make anything with Ktm and husquarna?
Cause he doesn't like garbage companies 🤮🤮🤣🤣
great tool!!!!!!! running motul or petronas oils
I have a 2000 cr 250 would like to get a newer one
Me:brings my 110 to Cameron
Him:head seals gaskets fork seals and brakes need replacing and your valves need adjustment
Me: but it was running fine
does grease solidify or evaporate with time? if so, how often should I be greasing stuff?
Grease breaks down and gets dirty over time. Every part is different for interval. Linkage I'll do every 15-20 hours, swingarm and stem every 30.
great videos man keep up the good work
Thanks Jared!
Cameron Niemela no problem
Where did you get the restyle kit?
Goin to make me grab a CR125 hahahah 🤦♂️
ColinRogers Films do it. They're great bikes lol
MX4Life 248 My garage is getting to crowded lol, moving to a bigger work space at the end of the month. Cameron Niemela PREACHHHH
I come from Viet Nam, and I love your video Cameron. Thanks you
Thanks for watching!
I swear I thought I was the only one that greases the crap out of my levers lol
Loving the 125!
Thanks!
What type of headers pipe is that on ur bike
Stock pipe
Gostei dos macetes o que gosto dos seus vídeos a forma que vc usa os macetes e tenho uma Honda tornado 250 2008 é o meu chodo e as manutenções preventivas quem faz sou eu e com vc melhorei muito só luxo hehehe.
i love watching your videos
Awesome seeing you working on the cr125 again, that bike is in its pryme!! 🙄
Have you ever ridden 04 cr125? Is there a big difference between 04 and 05 cr125?
I've owned a few 2004s. Not much difference besides power valve and cylinder.
Trying to get inspired to go tinker on my bike
Do you use pump gas or race gas? I've been wanting to switch to vp for multiple reasons but its so expensive!!
Just pump gas
Cameron Niemela alright thanks $20 a gallon is too much lol
Vp has good gas stations around here, 10 cents more a gallon but its definitely better quality gas than others even using 87oct
benson420710 I live in Massachusetts and the best pump gas is 93
Michael M Nice, here the max grade I've found is 92. If we get 87 oct anywhere else in town it causes problems and hiccups like its watered down even in fi machines. Have you re jetted?
I'm looking to get a 125, should I get a cr, kx, or yz 125 ?
They're all good. Best 125 out there right now is a new KTM or Husky hands down
Thank you I will into these bikes
As always excellent content!
i use 75-80 for gear oil
I use belray or motul oils in my bikes
It is riding season year around where I am at! :)
Where can I find some engine ice
What is your premix ratio? Mine is Klotz Benoil 25:1
32:1
That is my other go to ratio.
Sharpest 125 around 👍🏻
😆Oh She's Wet ! Lol
Great Video as always 👍
Haha thanks!
I have to ask. Where did you get your graphics?
He said it needs work😂 it looks brand new to me
what kind of gas do you use
91 octane non ethanol
thanks
My 2001cr125rhonda can't start I got gas and spark can someone help me
What ratio would you recommend for a 2009 yz 85?
Cool bike
U should do an oil change every 2 rides on a 2 stroke.
Andrew Fahey its not nececary
Yep
You don’t measure anything like oil changes in rides. You measure in hours
oil two strokes is motorex , elf ?
What kinda grease you use
Maxima
