    We've had a model 3 since 2018 and the quality issues and consistently poor customer service really soured me on the brand. It had to immediately go back to the shop, and spent almost a month there. Friends had a field day asking me what happened to the space age Yugo. Maybe we got one of them tent cars, but I expected more from something costing north of 60k.
    I ended up buying a P2 last month. Significantly quieter car! Better interior (with an instrument cluster!) and ride quality compared to our model 3. Also has the little things like the kick sensor, the logo reflected on the roof, or the takeout hook in the glove box. Just feels like a proper premium vehicle.

      Yes, it is a very good car, especially for a manufacturer's first big jump into EV. I suspect your story will be similar to others as I can see Polestar siphoning some former Tesla drivers. Glad you found a car you love!

      Good to know! Do you like it because it's a better sound or because it helps let you know it's still on? Or both?

      I took one for a test drive and while I was a bit indifferent to it, my wife HATED the sound. I've really disliked the sound in some other cars, but somehow this didn't really bother me in any way. My wife's reaction however was a bit surprising, as she normally doesn't mind, but this one really bugged her. Hopefully she'll get over it, since I'm buying one of these in a few months.... :)

      I can understand both people loving the sound and hating it. It's really special and they have put effort in having the sound that way. I think it sounds very exclusive.

    Solid review!!! Can't tell you how many uninspired right hand drive videos I watched from weird reviewer perspectives. I swear most of them featured the reviewer with the car being the co-star. Thank you for featuring the car and providing a real user experience.👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

    Hi, I really like this car. I prefer the higher quality level compared to Tesla. Tesla M3 is a very good car, but as one who goes more than 40000 km per year (Germany), I need a good Cruise Control, which does not cancel when you change the lane. Or the door handles can not freeze so easily, or you can get matrix led, etc. Regarding the low recuperation in your video, I guess it is because if the high SoC. It was around 99%. An in this situation there is no „space“ for the energy, I guess. Maybe temperature could be an additional reason. Just today I had a test drive with a single motor version and the grey area got bigger and bigger the lower the SoC was.
    Overall the Polestar 2 is an amazing car. I like the design very much and (to be honest) with a Polestar your are different from the mainstream.
    BTW: I like the sound of the blinker, sounds like you are popping some blister foil 🤪
    Wish you a happy new year. Greetings from Germany.

    There is a lot to like about the Polestar solid car. Quick note, you can get $7500 tax credit which makes it cheaper than Model 3. To me it's the exterior design and the fact you have instrument cluster. I'm a Tesla driver and I just can't take M3 design and the lack of instrument cluster I drove Model 3 many times I could not live without my screen. It's my command center when I drive my Model X. I put all the info for energy consumption I want. Great video thanks for sharing.

      Thanks for watching and for the feedback! Yes, I originally wanted to bring up all the Tax Credit stuff but then left it out with all the moving pieces of the bill being kicked around Washington right now that may get Tesla some credits again. Thanks for bringing it up!

    I recently drive my P2 on the highway in the snow with Cross Climate 2 tires... I felt like I had great control. I was shocked by how much traction I had. The cars weight and awd system really helps it with traction.

    • @evupnorth1493
      @evupnorth1493  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely- These heavy AWD cars are great in the snow and ice. Even with the all seasons I had in the video the car did pretty well. And when you throw in some winter tires, it feels like you’re Velcro-ed to the road. Thanks for sharing!

    • @chrismartin2663
      @chrismartin2663 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@evupnorth1493 @rarelyAccurate how do you think the single motor version would fare? I'm assuming the battery weight and general centering of weight would make is a better choice than a typical ice car. Obvs you have both driven the AWD version, but value the extra range the single motor has - I'm in Minneapolis and wife has family in Ames & des Moines and charging seems lacking on i35 last I looked (assuming I can work out how to fund any EV this year but the lower cost also helps).

    • @evupnorth1493
      @evupnorth1493  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@chrismartin2663 Good question. Yes, it looks that currently the single motor version would get you an extra 21 miles, which isn't a ton but it is a nice little extra (and cheaper than the AWD version as well). If you make that drive fairly often, I imagine it would add up and be worth it to get the extra range, especially if you make that drive in the winter. I've never made that drive in an EV yet (dozens of times in an ICE), but a quick look on PlugShare shows some charging stations on the way in Owaronna, Albert Lea, Diamond Jo, Mason City. Perhaps when you make your next trip you can swing by some of these stops and see them in person. And of course, the charging options should only get better, especially on an interstate, over the next couple of years. Let me know if you have other questions!

    You set the AC charging limit in the center screen. It was probably set too low and limited your charging speed at home. It is common mistake for reviewers and not sure why it doesn't self adjust.

    If spec determined which cars are popular, we would all be driving civics for good value. I just placed an order for the Polestar. The build quality is enough for me to not pick the Tesla. I want my car to last, not just being gimmicky with interesting features

    @SidelerMN 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You may have mentioned this and I missed it but how is the wind noise in the cabin when you’re driving on the freeway or interstate?

    • @evupnorth1493
      @evupnorth1493  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The wind noise is minimal, you can hear it a bit. Tire noise was minimal as well. It's better than the 2021 Model 3, if you've taken a ride in that, which I would call moderate. I did the 'paper test' where you shut the doors on a piece of paper and see how easily it can be removed. The paper came out easily in the 2021 Model 3, and was also easy on the 2021 Polestar 2 for the front doors, but the back doors were difficult to remove. I'm not sure how valid that test is, but there ya go
