    I am a young Lions fan and have been a fan for about 6 years, and I would love to say you did an amazing job producing this video. I felt like each topic of heartbreak could perfectly flow into each other and I got to learn a ton about my favorite football franchise. Hopefully my experience as a Lions fan won't be as grim as my father's but I have mentally prepared myself for years of Unfair calls, bust draft picks, and overall poor team coordination. Though I do believe. "We're getting closer, We're getting closer. We're gonna win one day...soon."

    One thing that is seldom mentioned is the great OL loss from 1991 to 1992. There were 3 OL lost not just 2. At the start of the 91 season the Lions had one of the best OLs. Then RT H. Salam gets sent to Denver. RG M. Utley is paralyzed toward the end of that season. Finally LG E. Andolsek dies prior to the 92 season leaving Det with only 2 starting Linemen from the yr before. Det drafted only a 5th rd OL that yr. Detroit went from 12-4 in 91 to 5-11 in 92 and Barry gained his fewest yards in 92.

    No mentions of Spielman, Herman, Gray, Porcher, Eliss even Hanson of the 90s and for some reason you didn’t mention Suh, Megatron of the 2010s which is very odd. No positive mention of the 2011 squad that broke the playoff drought, The legendary 2014 defense or the comeback 2016 squad.
    Once again good documentary, just felt like this should’ve been more balanced.

      Outside of Calvin, none of those guys had much to do with anything. They all were good players, sure, but they weren’t specifically notable when they never accomplished anything

    • @mauricewilson7116
      @mauricewilson7116 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@yaboytroy357 I mostly disagree man. Yeah with Eliss and Porcher (Good but not great players) but Herman Moore is a borderline HOF WR, Spielman (4X Pro Bowler and 4 All Pro) was one of the primer LB of the 90s and Hanson was the clutch kicker for 20 years. As well as the aforementioned Suh and Megatron, I felt this documentary should’ve shown a little more than Sims and Sanders IMO.

      One Lion who gets no respect is Lomas Brown. Yeah not good with his guaranteed victory's but that guy played many years, 7× pro bowler, vs talented players like LT, R.Dent, C. Doleman, R. White & B. Thomas. He was the ultimate blind side tackle. Should be a HOFer.

    It's tough watching the refs screw over the Lions for decades. It's bad enough we had Millen, The Fords and other horrible factors doing it forever, we didn't need the officials doing it too. Painful to watch the calls and non calls against Green Bay. However, it's nice to see us beating Karen Rodgers and the most fair weather fans on the planet.

    You really undersell the 2000 loss to Chicago. Gary Moeller was the interim coach after Bobby Ross quit mid-year. They started a 4th stringer (Stoney Case) in that game & the big Chicago scores were a punt return and a pick six.
    And that led to the most inept GM of all time, Matt Millen.

    I'm a fan of the Rams as I grew up in LA. But I'm also a fan of the NFL. The greatest team sport in the world. So I don't care what people think of my lack of total team loyalty. This video made me cry near the end. I can't believe this team has been plagued with so many injustices in its history, so many tragedies. The NFL world owes the Detroit Lions owed so much from the universe. They were always there giving us Thanksgiving Day memories even though they lost a lot. Billy Sims Matthew Stafford, Megatron, and of course Barry Sanders are all-time greats. I know this weekend the Stafford led Rams take on Detroit in the playoffs. I know you'll cheer Stafford. I'd he can indeed win, and he finally got his SuperBowl. Your team Derroit showed so much class by letting him fulfill his wishes to play for a contender. I love the Rams, but this weekend, I'm rooting for you to win. Because it's only right looking back at all the bad things that have happened to give this historic city its first championship in the SuperBowl era.
    Please, please, please let them get what they want this time....lord know it would be the first time...

    Great video, buy you have to be the most depressing narrator ever. wow. I am surprised you didn't put the clip of Daryl Rodgers quote "what does a guy have to do to get fired around here". That is the sad fact of WCF. He was a loyal person. Loyalty has no place in sports.
    Wayne Fontes had been the best coach we have had until 2020 when Dan Campbell was hired. Wayne wasn't great, but he would get you to the playoffs every other year.
