This is an interesting video and you made some good points but not all the information is there.
The Tassimo is a not really for me.
I’ve had Nespresso machines In the past, own a bean to cup machine (that unfortunately is on its way out) and just purchased a Dolce gusto.
The reason I chose the dolce Gusto is down to cost (I can’t really afford £400 currently to buy another bean to cup machine) and the fundamental issues I’ve experienced in the past with Nespresso machine.
Nespresso machines just don’t make hot coffee. I’ve owned a similar machine to what’s in this video (Lattissima +) and the coffee was always luke warm. Using the auto milk frother the lattes it produced never ever reached 60c. I checked with a temperature probe and the coffee was always between 55c-58c which is just not hot enough. It gets a bit better with a standalone milk frother but it’s only at 63c-66c depending on espresso size.
The dolce gusto on the other hand is brewing a cappuccino at 78c which over 20c hotter than what the Nespresso does with the auto milk frothing system.
Also the choice of pods is much bigger than just “dolce gusto” pods and a single taste profile of coffee. There is Starbucks, Costa, which offer the brand specific coffee along with twisty such as caramel latte or vanilla lattes with their signature taste profiles and a new single origin collection which all have unique flavour profiles. There is also supermarket offerings that also taste different again and in a budget.
The best part now is if you shop about on eBay or Amazon you can buy a dolce gusto - Nespresso adaptor so you can actually use all the Nespresso compatible pods in your dolce gusto machine, giving you loads more options for your dolce gusto. This makes the Dolce Gusto a win/win for me.
Now with my Dolce gusto I’m getting hot coffee (not luke warm like with the Nespresso) and I’m also getting everything the Nespresso offered in terms of options.
Nespresso does have some great coffee’s but they need to sort out their manchine temperature issues as they are just not good enough for the premium price the offer which is why I’m so glad I got the dolce gusto and the adapter as it’s the best solution for me.
Here is the link to adapter if you you would like to look at it, there is two options once for the Piccolo & Genio 2 and the other a universal for other machines (except the new Infinissima).

damit if i had seen your review and the adapter links id have probably saved a ton on the nespresso sage and had the option for gusto should i need it !! As we droing mostly short coffee drinks, I have to say though im very happy with the sage nespresso plus and i thought the tasimmo coffe was awful which scared me off the gusto
@@6GSF if anyone is going to buy a Nespresso the Sage Nespresso Creatista is the one to get as it seems a lot better than the rest in terms of serving temperature. The Lattissima machines & all the espresso only Nespresso machine are really poor with serving temperature, with the worst being the Lattissima range.
👍
Excellent presentation. Does not get boring as other videos with same subject.
I bought the Tassimo My Way 2 for 55 EUR new and this one allows the user to choose the temperature, water quantity, etc.
thats good to know, thanks for your comment
In my opinion, if you want the jack of all trades, you should go for the Gusto. Nespresso machines here are way more expensive than the most basic gusto ones. Also, there's a lot of third party capsules with the possibility of getting nespresso pod adapters and reusable capsules. May be the same for nespresso machines but from my research, I think the Dolce Gusto is the better option (at least for me).. Tassimo is the worst one, and the cheapest one (the capsules are so overpriced!)
The Nespresso machine in this video is actually the Lattissima Plus. The Plus and Touch are very similar, but the Touch is a newer model. The Lattissima Touch has 1 extra milk coffee setting (creamy latte on newer revision, ristretto on older revision) and also a button that only dispenses the hot milk and froth from the milk frother.
I've had the Bosch Tassimo (Joy or Suny i think?) for about a year, and it tastes pretty good. The main issue I have with it though is that the pods are a lot more expensive and less customisable than the Dolce Gusto.
Thank you for your comment, I’m glad you like your tassimo
Thanks for this review. Found it very informative. I’ve just bought my first pod machine by Dolce Gusto and I’m very disappointed as the coffee is weak and just doesn’t do it for me. I’m going to look at the Delonghi. Thanks again.
Glad it was helpful!, but it's more to do with the pods than the machine, as the different machines are rated at the same pressure for the different brands of pods,
Do yourself a huge favour, buy a percolator, you won’t look back
great video! btw what would you recommend after the nespresso and do the nespresso also make milk variants like latte macchiatos etc.
thanks
Quite a lot of difference in the price of the Nespresso machine. It may be good but I couldn't justify spending that much.
The Touch doesn't seem to be available anymore . . can you suggest an equivalent please?
I really love milky sweet various kind of tasting coffee or even hot chocolate. Wich machine would you recommend for me?
What’s the 3rd one called
I much prefer Tassimo over Dolce Gusto. Not tried N’sspreso. Edit: Tassimo have a fabulous range of all drinks on their online shop.
Tassimo makes a nice coffee just wish there was more choices over flavours
@@RichManPoorTech Have you tried the Tassimo online shop? They do a huge range of teas, coffees and hot chocolates.
bought a sage nespresso plus one after trying the Tassimo machines which frankly taste nothing like coffee and seem to be for making long drinks with uht whipped milk ! The nespresso makes great real-tasting coffee. black of course and a great frother for whatever you want to use it for , one downside the lcd screen is in a stupid place and you cant read if if daylight is on it. I dont like the virtuo or tasimmo machines create so much more plastic waste and only any good if you like big milky coffees , thanks for the review
I’m glad you prefer the nespresso like me, obviously everyone has there own taste and preferences, nice to know when someone else agrees
Just researching the best for me and until watching this video I was led to believe that the downside of nespresso was you had to buy a separate milk frother, whereas the others have pods for it. I like lattes and cappuccino so this was important for me.
The pods are ok but with a frother/steamer you could pick your own milk for example semi skimmed, full fat, oat milk etc
Where does the keurig rank?
We’ve used tassimo for years but I’ve wondered about getting nespresso. My workplace has nespresso & it’s pretty good. Maybe we’ll upgrade for xmas
Which coffee system suits you is best, but in my experience swapping to Nespresso was the right choice for me, because of the variety
What is the temprature of different bevereges by those machines?
From my experience the Dolce Gusto machines are always hotter by about 15-20C give or take a couple of C.
The Nespresso Lattissima + I had would brew espresso at 62c-65c and latte’s with the auto milk frother at about 55c-59c (never had it above 60c with milk). My Dolce Gusto Genio 2 plus by delonghi is brewing Costs branded cappuccino pods at 78c and it’s a double pod brew (one milk & one espresso) with a small pause to change the pods over.
Very useful thanks for sharing!
Thank you for your comment a few shops like Aldi are doing a few dolce gusto style pods now but still not the variety of nespresso
Which tastes better Gulco or Tassomo cappuccinos? My friends Gulco (nestcafe) are quite good but wondering if Tassimo tastes better ? I.e Kenco cappuccinos
To me they both seamed decent, just look to see if you can purchase different brands to vary the coffee taste otherwise you will only have the safe coffee every day which can begin to taste bland overtime
Tassimo My way 2 beats all of these hands down
Your comparing 2 £40 coffee machines with one that costs £400... of course the £400 one is going to be better .
As in the video, It’s more to do with the coffee pod system than the machines, the machines are set to a universal pressure designated by the coffee system eg nespresso dolce gusto etc whichever brand you choose. The choice of coffee pod flavours, none of this is to do with the machines manufacturers
Ironically a manual espresso machine will right out crush any of these toys.
This is a great video, took a while to find a decent pod video as it was full of fake AI ones, definitely prefer a human actually giving an opinion.
Thank you for your comment i know what you mean i hate all those ai generated video as well
good vid
thank you
Like you excuse not that you need one I’m looking for a new machine had two Lakeland both dead ish on arrival
I do have a problem I have bought another 2 device’s for making coffee since this video but still use my nespeesso as well when I want to be quick
Just waiting for duralit Nespresso one the Lakeland ones on long drink pumped out 200mils of water. Lakeland gave back my money no problem. I only drink black so no need for milk machine
@@barrytipton1179 I’m sure you will love it
You need a drink! Painful to watch you struggle, hopefully you have done more editing by now… not a diss, just saying what I’m seeing…
thanks for your concern
