Whenever you share your food prices in Canada, I'm always shocked at how much higher your costs are. Food is pricey here in NY too, but we do have a variety of grocery stores to choose from, and there is one that is better than others, so we usually shop there. Thanks for showing us how to participate out the meat!

Tip; place a damp dish cloth under your cutting board to keep it from moving around. Works good!

Hi Colleen! I agree: food prices are up all over. Thanks to your videos I quit buying bread. I make my own in the bread machine. I've done a lot of cutting back bc I too am on a fixed income. My new motto is I need my money more than you need my money! I try to keep laughing bc crying doesn't get you anywhere!!! Thanks again for your great videos!

When I find chicken breast at good price I buy 10 pounds and grind it my self because ground chicken &ground turkey is more expensive but better for me.

At 11 yrs old we got our first Jersey Cow and it was my job to milk, separate, make butter etc. By the time I was 14 we had 4 cows including 1 Holstein. The separated milk went to my cousin to slop the hogs. At the end of the year we got a hog. Usually around 350-440lbs. It was always the best pork. I hated milking the cows back then but I sure miss it now. That was 50yrs ago.

I grind pork and make my own sausage. Tastes better and so much cheaper!

Next time your cutting anything, to stop your board from sliding just put a wet cloth under it.

Thank you for sharing the different cuts from one pork loin roast. Just last week I was looking for boneless pork loin chops, ended up buying a pork loin like yours and cut my own chops and a pork roast. I had heard to make it easier to cut, just freeze it first. { My largest knife wasn't too sharp either but, like you said, you make do with what you have}. Have a great day !
