Yes, they act insecure because they are lacking something, and their desire for control stems from their own issues. You can't just claim, "Oh, it's because our prophet said so." If it were as serious as you're making it out to be, like zina (adultery), which is clearly and explicitly condemned by Allah, then it would be plainly stated as a major sin in every religious text. But it's not mentioned like that anywhere, so take a step back and focus on improving yourself. Find purpose in life, and work on your own growth instead of putting others down and ruining their legitimate enjoyment.

At the time of Prophet Mohammed and time of Khikafat e Rashid different kind of musical instruments were available and in use by people other than Followers of Prophet Mohammed and Sahaba Ajmaeen.
Dr. Shabbir Ali, please give any example of using those instruments by Prophet, Khulafah e Rashid and Tabaeen except Duff ?
Now come to logic harmful or beneficial. Music and some musical instruments definitely gave very strong impact on mental conditions, and very effectively can deter human consciousness, determination. I am trained ( partial) musician, vocal and instrument, and I have very good experience how dangerous music can be to distract from positive active to either passive or towards negative activities in life.

always find your answer in the most authentic sources, the quran and the hadist, and as Dr Shabir pointed out there are no clear prohibition to music so we should not prohibit ourselves what god does not forbid. Furthermore, we must also use our mind. Some scholars in my country argue if the music is haram, which part of it is haram. Is it the song, the tune, the sound, the instrument or is it the combination? they are all natural and around us. our own natural speech has music, the very keyboard am typing right now produces sound. What I understand is anything, including music, can be haram if it does not have any benefit and lead us astray from God not the music itself.

These are people, battling with the addictiveness of music, who couldn’t help but subscribe to the opinion of a “scholar” who trivialises and compromises on almost everything issue Islam abhors or discourages. If a Muslim can’t find more pleasure in listening to the Qur’aan than music, then he/she needs to engage in sincere tawbah, do endless zikr, and make du’a that Allah increases His love in his/her heart ‘cause it’s been destroyed and hardened by music.

Alot of the modern push to ban Music in Islam comes from people who listened to some pop and rap when they were younger, realizing that alot of it trashy and unserious, and deciding that is sucks. This has broadly been my experience with this issue. But alot of music, a majority of it, is clean and not riddled with vice and haram. Pretty much anything outside of the two genres a mentioned, like Jazz, Classical, Metal, and electronic is clean, especially when there aren't lyrics. Taking this into account makes the main hadith on this make more sense. Tying music to or hiding haram inside of it is the real problem. Not music itself.

    • @derrickf1533
      @derrickf1533 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

The majority of music has lyrics that focus on dunya or negative things (like heartbreak, romance stories that lead to zina, depression, hate, immorality, glorifying war, fame, power, etc.) no matter the genre. It is only a minority of songs which have innocent or positive lyrics. This is a reality you need to accept. Even when it comes to instrumental music, a lot of it can affect our brain in negative ways, too. And there are many studies that corroborate this. So even if we don't say that music is Haram, it is totally obvious that the vast majority of it is a bad influence, and anyone who really knows about music and is sincere will have to admit it.

Muslim Scholars all over the world have explained everything in detail as why it's prohibited. What led it into prohibition. What are its benefits and what are its demerits. Only problem is that people don't take the effort to look into its deep rooted meanings. People are looking for loopholes how best they can legalise forbidden things. How best they can take interest (usuary) and so on. And people like Shabbir Ali can raise funds in the form of donation by legalising forbidden things.

@wassfoot95 It seems like you are more fond of hadiths than the quran, kindly be fond more of the quran, the sahih al bukhari was complied around 200 years after the death of our Prophet (PBUH) so it's totally impossible for the book Sahih Al bukhari to be totally authentic, there will be some small errors which can make hadiths weak. There is no book that will equally hold the same status and authenticity of the quran.

Islam is more nuanced and balanced . This perspective by the sheikh perfectly sums that up. The fact that the Quran itself never explicitly states it as something immoral or haram or that the prophet Muhammad(pbuh) never explicitly said anything in its condemnation says a lot. The harshest criticisms come from the sahaba. My question is, in a community where they clearly played music , why didn’t the messenger of Allah say anything outright ? Even when it was played in front of him or share any ayat from Allah outlawing this specific issue ? We are left only with mere interpretations and understanding that it’s haram based on a specific point of view . Blanket interpretation about something is what a lot of people have an issue with .

Music is not Haram, these are the evidences from authentic Hadiths.👇
      1. Whatever ALLAH leaves without saying Haram are halal by default. General Fiqh rule.
      2. HADITHS - Prophet(SA) allowed music with instruments in his own house during Eid - Sahih Bukhari 987, 988, 3931, 949, 952.
      3. HADITHS - Prophet(SA) compared the quran recitation of a companion to the musical sound of Mazamir(wind instruments, flute).
      - Al Adab Al Mufrad 805, Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 1087, Sahih bukhari 5048.
      4. HADITHS - Prophet Muhammad(SA) invited singers to a wedding function to sing - Sunan Ibn Mājah 1900.
      5. That "Bukhari hadis 5590 which says musical instruments are haram in an indirect way" is a hanged hadis or an un-numbered hadis in bukhari text. Because the reporter lacks the connection to the Prophet(sa).
      6. A Slave Girl invited Prophet(SA) to listen to her song playing tambourine - Tirmidhi 3690
      7. Only ALLAH has the authority to declare Haram. Scholars do not have that authority. Inorder to consider anything as Haram it requires solid authentic evidences.
Do not falsely declare with your tongues, “This is lawful, and that is unlawful,” ˹only˺ fabricating lies against Allah. Indeed, those who fabricate lies against Allah will never succeed. Quran 16:116

Or maybe we should realize that when speakers such as Hamza Yusuf, Mufti Menk, or Dr Yasir Qadhi discuss music they say to simply avoid it and always state that there’s a difference of opinion / debate BEFORE giving their personal opinion …🤔… almost as if being careful to call something haram like TikTok does instantly

@@xzm996literally only one hadith is sahih and it's still unclear. "And from amongst my ummah there will be people making fornication, silk, intoxicants and musical instruments lawful". People assume it's from haram to halal, but it could also be makrouh to halal or halal to halal like some scholars say.
But on the opposite side, we have many sahih hadiths in which the prophet casually listens to music (duff) and singing.
So in the end you have nothing but unclear and weak hadiths that can't be used to say music is haram.
And if you say the Qur'an prohibited it, "lahw el hadith" is a generic term for anything with no benefit. And if you read the entire verse and the one after it. Allah clearly condemned the people who use lahw el hadith and he says nothing about the lahw itself.
We also know that if Allah wanted to prohibit something he calls it by name or gives a clear command.
      "Don't come close to fornication"
"Intoxicants, pork, and dead meat have been made haram for you"
"Don't talk about your brother behind their back (backbiting)"
You really think Allah couldn't have said "and don't listen to music" and have it all very clear.

We should be careful not to assume Surah Luqman's verse about vain talk is only about music. True understanding comes from seeking the deeper meaning, not just applying it to one specific thing. Whether music is harmful or not depends on how it's used and its effect on us. It's possible for something to be used for good, or for bad - the intention matters.
Regarding instruments, we know the Prophet, peace be upon him, allowed the Duff. There are also accounts that he himself listened to certain forms of music or chanting on specific occasions. This suggests that the issue isn't necessarily with the sounds themselves, but with their purpose and impact. But just because other instruments aren't mentioned doesn't automatically mean they are forbidden. The core principle is to avoid things that lead us away from remembering God and doing good. We should focus on whether our actions, with or without instruments, help us on the path of righteousness. The absence of a specific rule doesn't equal a prohibition. We must use wisdom and knowledge to guide our choices, understanding that the context and intent of our actions are paramount.

You are asking Allah to save you from following the book of Allah, the Sunnah of the Messenger (sallallaahu’alayhi’wassallam), with the understanding of the companions and the salaf as-saalih [which are the companions, the taabi’een and the taabi’u’ taabi’een (the taabi’een and taabi’u’ taabi’een who were upon goodness)]?
Is that what you are asking Allah to save you from?

i think certain tones, frequencies, and lyrics - especially nonsense repetitive ones, are what should be considered haram. Think of the studies that have proven certain frequencies can even cause death and cellular rupture. But when we have also proven certain frequencies and sounds heal disease and physical wounds faster, we should not ignore Gods blessing.

Muslims legalized alcohol by drinking watered down beer. Interest is now called not profit. Everyone has a girlfriend so it's okay. Yes we only seek pleasure in Haram. There's nothing pleasurable in halal means, right? If you crave music that much then you have problems in your heart. I've been there so I know what it's like. Don't fall for your nafs.

Actually, it's not rocket science: music with lyrics that includes curses, nudes, and other shameful parts ar prohibited because it hurts other people. But a piano, cello, violin, etc doesn't do that. These sound great to th ear, and give tranquility.

    In simple words
Music is haram when Islam is powerful.
Music is halal when Islam is weak.

There are no two views on this matter. So we must advise in the best manner, and then take it step by step and denounce music, if we are able to do so. We should not be deceived by the fame of a man in our own times in which the people who are truly committed to Islam have become strangers. The one who says that singing and musical instruments are permitted is simply supporting the whims of people nowadays, as if the masses were issuing fatwas and he is simply signing them!
