I became Muslim three days before Ramadan this year (24). I was brought up Catholic and felt like i was betraying God. (The so called Catholic guilt). Sheikh should not pressure them to take the Shahada. Let them do more research on their own and do it when they are ready.
I think Sheikh was going according to their age vibe. And the way he handled the conversation is really smart.

he was not pressuring them. it’s the way youngsters talk nowadays, so he did that to make them feel more comfortable. if he was “acting his own age”, to them it would feel like they were being lectured, which would push them away. Alhamdulillah, in the end they accepted Islam anyway.
