I was a manager of a music store in 1986. Cherelle came to our store to do a promotion. I got tickets to her show with New Edition and Force MD’s. I still play her music and his as well. Great voices.
If You Were Here Tonight is one of my Top 20 songs of all-time. I love Alexander O'Neal's voice/singing. He could have been as big as R. Kelly was (he was huge), but not in the same league as Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Nat King Cole, or Barry White. They are brilliant singers and most songwriters and musicians as well.
I work for an entertainment company back in the 80s, I met Alexander O'Neal. The nicest person i met in a long time. Ran into years later, and this man remember my name.all i could say was....wow!
Alexander O’Neal is my all time favorite R&B male singer! I was blessed to meet and take a picture with him and his lovely wife last Valentine’s Day at a concert in Atlanta! I will always love this man!!!!! ❤❤❤❤
I was a teenager in the mid 1980s and I loved both Cherrelle and Alexander O'Neal both individually and as a duo.Great voices and great memories of a great decade ❤️ 💛
Oh my God the memories!!! these two will never ever be forgotten I'm 65,. Both of them Cherrelle and Alexander O'Neal❤❤❤❤ no one could touch them today for modern music Karma unbelievable man fell in love with my son's mother till the day I die. Their music will never get old !!!!!
I believe was a great singer pebbies can sing but cherrelle is great she has the gift. Alexandrr aO'neal has a gift that showed it mote eith cherrelle.
I named the band the Soul Morticians. My high school boyfriend formed the band. They rehearsed and rehearsed until they were ready and asked band girlfriends for suggestions for names for the band. My ex boyfriend's family owned a funeral home and I suggested Soul Morticians. The band members took a vote and chose that name. Those were fun times but we all knew that O'Neal's voice was extraordinary.
The song fake was the national anthem for men when they go out to a club of these so call women. They are not women, but dudes who dress up as women. So be careful and aware of them. Watch how much you drink? And what you partake in. Because Aids was rampant then!
Alexander and Cherelle was that powerhouse singers made super hits together Saturday LOVE was a mega hit ❤that song!! Thanks for sharing it with us!! Richard Shackelford ❤❤❤
Father always told me that drugs can destroy you 4 ever so don't let any drug become the master over you, you become the master over it so that you never become it's slave!
I was in a club after a funeral in Natchez, MS and they were jamming! You could feel the pride of the club to hear one of their own blasting the radio waves! He was talented 😎we’ve lost so much talent to poor managers + individual self destruction.
Alexander O’Neal and Cherrelle are both talented R&B artists who achieved success in the 1980s. They collaborated on several memorable songs. They were the greatest singing duo ever created by any musician in the history of R&B. This was back then when the music industry was booming talent and care about what they put out. They were meant to collaborate music together. Alexander will definitely destroy half of these R&B cats who think they got what it takes to be a great singer, so he should have been a biggest artist if he never started doing drugs. The last time I checked…they performed together on the BET awards show a couple of years ago making a tribute to Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. Great stuff!!!
I could definitely see New York vibes but I'm not surprised she is from Beverly Hills I'm glad someone of color had opulence growing up unlike most artists who are middle class or not well off in the beginning.
One of the greatest my husband reminds me of you on a daily basis CHOCOLATE HAS ALWAYS BEEN IN WITH ME 💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾thank you for your service as entertainer and I love him with all the fiber of my being and he is a spinal cord patient. When I hear your music I love him even more ❤❤❤ THANKS
Great memories❤. I remember being in H.S. excited to get out so I could go buy Alexs' album Hearsay fr Krazy Eddie's records store in NYC. I damn near played the grooves off that record!. EVERY SONG was great.❤
Alex, Talent will always be appreciated and remembered by me..He kind of reminds of me of Keith Washington.. will never out grow his music 🎼❤️ and I’m definitely waiting for his reunion with Cherrell it’s gonna be so Awesome and Amazing both are such unrated
For an Adult Contemporary R&B Artist who was non-crossover, outside Luther Vandross and Freddie Jackson Alexander O'Neal was about commercially successful in the '80s as you could get for an act like that with multiple Gold Albums in the US and a triple platinum album in the UK, multiple Gold albums in UK.
😁Sir Alexander O'Neal , is Still One the Greatest Singer"!!, Among Many of Course"!!!, 😁 Who has his Own particular Style"!!!, Man The Cut"!!!, You were meant to be My Lady"!!!, Me And This Girl Fell in Love 😁 courtesy of the. There is a song that he sang. "She is a Fake." That song stuck a note in me. How many people do we know that are like that? I really love the downbeat in that song. I thought he quit the music business because he wanted to. He is all that as a singer. I've got to find his music again.
I was working in Manchester In the U.K. waiting for a bus, a guy went past me pushing a mountain bike, he looked so out of it, I looked again & it was Alexander O’Neal. He went into a store near the bus stop, so I walked into the store because I couldn’t believe it was him, he put some groceries in a basket & paid for them, he was so high. This was 2019, it blew my mind because less than a mile away there was a record store named Spin Inn that specialised in American imports in the 1980s, it was the place to go for the latest music, imports were prized possessions in those days. I hope Alexander’s doing better today 🙏🏾

Anybody who gets mad and decides not to do business with you because you asked about money, consider it a blessing. They intended to cheat you.
YEP!
Both are My untouchable Duo

"Fake" by Alexander O'Neal is even more relevant than ever in today's society!!! 🔥🔥🔥

Nice surprise seeing Pebbles giving her thoughts. I met her at an autograph signing in the late 80's. She's got a story of her own.
She's Cherelle cousin
Alexander Oneal & Cherrelle, back in my teens was a favorite R & B artist. High School freshman. amk
They should have been bigger than they were but the twists and turns of life got in the way.
Alexander Oneal, Candel light and you. Classic Oneal.
Give them both walk of fame long over due ❤❤❤Hey Michael Henderson
Saturday love was my fav🎉❤
BEAUTIFUL HALLELUJAH VOICE FROM JESUS CHRIST HALLELUJAH AMEN AND HE IS SO REAL AND HIMSELF AND SHE IS BEAUTIFUL CHERELL.
Let's not forget that he's not bad on the eyes...😉
YES ❤️🎤
I met Alexander at after-hour and at Prince Club,First Avenue and at Concert He a nice humble glad to meet him God Bless.
THEY WERE THE DYNAMIC 🎉
So basically what Prince allegedly meant was , Alexander wasn’t with the bs and was too assertive 🤷🏽♀️
His song was trending as a memo right now.😅
WHY DID YOU SLAP ME?!?!?!?
I agree. This man should have been right up there with Luther and Marvin Gaye.
Luther Vandross Alexander O Neal Freddie Jackson …. ruled the 80s
I loved them both!! Their songs stay on my playlist!! I grew up listening to them!!!
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
😭I love them both😭
Damn seeing “New York Undercover” pop up cross the screen brought back memories. I just know they recorded this round 8-9 pm😂😂🤦🏾♂️
Unmatched ❤️❤️
Unsung use to be my show
Mine too but I think they ran out of artists snd started scrambling.
I still watch the Unsung when they come out with new seasons that's still my favorite show I could watch it all day 😁 🤩 🤩 😁
The "All True Man" house remix is the shiiiiiit! People would flood the dancefloor.
I've never heard that particular mix 😳 I remember the original from the early 90's though.
I love them both, thanks for the music, it will never go away 👍
Glad they are both ok today❤.
I’d swear Cherelle would be from NYC area and not Beverly Hills.
I could definitely see New York vibes but I'm not surprised she is from Beverly Hills I'm glad someone of color had opulence growing up unlike most artists who are middle class or not well off in the beginning.
One of The Best Smooth Voices in our Generation and Cherrelle, a lot of Pop Artists owes Her commissions 😂❤

Running out of artists to cover
it's still plenty of them some artists don't wish to interview or legally sometimes they can't get the clearance for music to be used.
I LOVE BOTH OF THEM THEY HAD VOICE, INNOCENT WAS MY FAVORITE SONG
Great memories❤. I remember being in H.S. excited to get out so I could go buy Alexs' album Hearsay fr Krazy Eddie's records store in NYC. I damn near played the grooves off that record!. EVERY SONG was great.❤
Love this duo ❤❤❤❤ 😊
Alexander O'Neal was like R Kelly of the 80'S. Cherelle was a spicy sexy R&B Diva.
Minus the sexual misconduct 😂
Wouldn't that just be Charlie Wilson, though?
They remind you of Tammi Terrell and Marvin Gaye
Thank you for showing Jam and Lewis telling the whole story. Alexander O'Neal is an egomaniac
he pretty much alluded to being arrogant at times it showed here .
Soulful ❤
I’m here in 2024
TRUE VISION VOICES 😊
Thanks for the info I didnt know this
Pure legend ❤
Alex, Talent will always be appreciated and remembered by me..He kind of reminds of me of Keith Washington.. will never out grow his music 🎼❤️ and I’m definitely waiting for his reunion with Cherrell it’s gonna be so Awesome and Amazing both are such unrated
I think I've compared Keith to Alex myself before because of Kissing You ❤!!!
If you were here is a bop!! He knew what he was doing. He needed bills paid!!

Some say Alexander O'Neal sounds like Charlie Wilson, I say he sounds like Morris Day.
😂
They were HUGE!
I saw Alexander O'Neil in person, and he was phenomenal
