@@xiles8963 They are underrated. Look how great Jawhead was a fighter that was tanky thanks to his hp, pdef and mdef growth. Now Jawhead is no more as great as he used to be. In late game isn’t as amazing as before. And early, mid game you can’t engage team fights if enemy stays in middle of base since there are many cc heroes and he can’t take that many hits from tower/turret anymore. The turret dmg was increased a good amount over the year and all those annoying cc skills on new heroes and all, makes Jawhead no more be as good, especially since he got over the year just nerf so he can’t be played as tank or tanky. But the problem is that they didn’t adjust him to increase his damage or anything like that, just nerfs.
You're right Elgin, I mean why a fighter have passive that the more his HP is low the more tanky he can be? (Terizla) And here we are with Martis having skills that are really really great to be as a tank (like second skill it can unactivate alot of skills like Odette's ultimate, and ofc you'll still help ur teammates with your ultimate's dmg) but I think that's why the game starts to revamping heros? Like hanabi or Faramis. At some point they'll revamp some fighters and they really need that.
Terizla probably have that passive to stand for his bulkiness. But ye they should probably change the ones that isn't used in most cases. And this ideas for a new one should be called an "original" one. Or else another law suit might come lol
Terizla's passive is pretty good though..the thing thay makes him useless is his damage and lack of Reap ability..his skills are easy to avoid..in the early game he has damage which can be easily dodged and in the late game his damage is useless..his ult was pretty cool back in the day but now it's useless cause most heroes have a dash..they should make it only purify and flicker can be used to escape his ult and make his 2nd skill somewhat usefull
First release of Martis was super strong. His 2nd skin animation was very fast. Developers increase the animation time to make him more balanced because back in the days, you couldn't do anything against him. I think fighters are mainly heroes to adjust a team composition. If the other team has Odette, pick Martis to easily cancel her ultimate. If the other team has Karie, Moskov, Wanwan or Granger, pick Phoveus. If the other team has 2 tanks, pick Masha to push and destroy their tanks very quickly. If the other team has no dash skills then pick heroes like Yuzong, Dyrroth, Jaw. If your team has tank like Tigreal, Belerick, Gatot, Atlas, Khufra, Minotaur pick Khaled, Silvanna or Guinevere for an easy win during teamfight. Etc... This is why I think the last pick should always be a fighter.
Martis as someone potray him, jack of all trade but master of none. Decent CC, Decent damage, Decent Durabilty(unless tank). the only thing he best at is being Unstopable CC counter in team fight which is really cosidering you can eat so much cc for your team and allow them to counter enemy hard. I play him so many time already so i know all the tip and trick for martis
Nope, because if you use the next phase of Martis' 2nd skill, the cool down of his skills will reset like back to zero. And if you don't use the next phase of Martis' skill, it will cool down after the first phase.

As a Martis main, here's a few things I can say: 1. Martis is a really good early game fighter, thanks to his dmg reduction, anti-cc, CC and attk speed he can win his lane early just play aggressive he can even compete with Esme or Thamuz but just on lvl 1 and 2 2. He is a good support while taking the turtle because of his early damage and by his skill 1+flicker combo he can surprise enemies in the backline and push them away for your team to secure the turtle. 3. This is my favorite thing, Martis is useful in distrupting enemies' tank sets like tigreal or khufra because they also have slow animation but not on Atlas though 4. Martis is a teamfight hero except you are so ahead on the enemy's lvl or gold, he can't just fight alone 5. Martis is a KS hero (Kill Securing lol) after his first ulti he gains movement speed to chase others or run away. 6. I never been play Martis in tank role but I think playing him fighter is enough? Because I know in late game his damage drops off but he will be a good support/addition in teamfights. Just build him with defense items don't go full damage always Tips: 1. Martis can clear lane fast, use this for your advantage, since you can kill or lower the HP of your enemy in your lane in huge amount you can cut lane afterward 2. Never use skill 2's second phase (knock-up) if unnecessary skill 1 and skill 2 first phase is enough for your passive to be full, this way you can always ready your second skill because it will have a short cooldown 3. Use skill 2's second phase when the enemy chasing you and they're close to you to knockup them and push them away 4. Skill 1 can distrupt enemies positioning and has a slow effect. 5. He can use his ult in enemies with immortality, he will enter the second phase if you did. It also works on clones Guin's and Sun's but not on puppets or spawns, dont use ult in xborg's armor and masha's other HP bars even though there's an indicator to use your ult I think I am the only one who disagrees about Martis should get a revamp because I'm scared maybe they will remove his anti cc or damage reduction or lower it. He only needs buff🙃 faster animation? Or cd reduc? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I also think Marti's skill set is decent enough already, just that the skill activation/animation is slow af it's easy to predict. Welp good to see his epic skin "God of War" is getting revamped so like every other hero he will shine for abit. He's getting little bit of a buff recently as the patch notes comes. In the next update he's second skill is getting buffed increasing damage from 100% to 120%

Im gonna miss the old God of war skin as the model can compete with badang's collector skin (not saying badang collector skin is bad I really love it just saying that old God of war skin is just perfect) the second skill effect don't need to be change and they should add more sand vibes like the second skill it just need improve first and ult skill effect no need second and model design they totally destroyed the GOD OF WAR skin :'(
I like this style of content kuyw Elgin, maybe you should make it a series like "the correct class" examining forgotten heroes and giving them a better class.
I started ranking late this season, just last week to be precise but i reached mythic in just few hours of gaming over a week, around two hours of gaming daily or less I'd say. Somedays i just played two matches. Anyway what I tried and learn was as follows: Use annoying heroes (mostly mobile heroes), go for tank build and play aggressive, also taunt enemies while you're at it. In that way you instinctively become the target for the enemy whenever you're in sight. FYI: Your build must have those items that gives you borrowed time such as bloodwings, immortality and winter truncheon. Since you can sustain now, you'll be buying time for teammates in various situations aswell as using up ur opponents skills and many more. Note: Be aggressive and annoying whenever you can but only with an objective in mind like stalling for Lord or letting a lane get pushed or just to screw up with their positions. Had great success with Valentina and Chou. Wish I could make a video myself for the positioning tips and other details. Anyway just wanted to upload all my crazy tactics. 🤣 Thank you if you read it.
Martis is one of those OP heroes when it comes to sustain and dealing true damage. But the main problem for Martis is his Slow Animations when using his skills such as his 1st and hia 2nd. My main Suggestions for him to bring him in the Meta are as follows 1st Skill: Reduce Charge Animation and Add/Bring Back Stun effect. Fun Fact: Martis 1st skill on release has a Stun effect which made him OP. 2nd Skill: Reduce Charge Animation (Literally my Main problem with this skill which allows the enemy to escape and dodge it) 3rd Skill: Every time Martis kills an enemy Using his Ultimate Martis Gains 100% Movement Speed until the 10s Cooldown Reset is over, (In the current version Martis gains 100% Movement speed for 3s after killing a hero using his ultimate) Note: These are suggestions to make him into the meta It may be Op but it is a one time opportunity for him to be part of the popularity.
In my own experience, I think it is better to use the Brave Smite emblem so that you can get an HP back while using your CC skills (1st & 2nd). Martis' 1st skill has SLOW and his 2nd skill has x3 knockback and x1 airborne. This will give him more sustain in team fights, especially as a tank.
I tried it and i used dire hit instead of encourage. It works with his ultimate. I also use breastplate because martis can reach its full stack very easily.

I use khaleed as tank once in a while before and and it's pretty decent in terms of survivality thanks to skill 2. Easily travel from bot to top lane cuz of his passive. And his 1st skill deals a decent damage. Quite useful just poke some enemies along the way. You should try
The classes/ roles in League of Legends is the same as Mobile Legends. However in LoL, each class has 2-3 subclasses. I will be showing the Tank and Fighter subclasses and give examples on which heroes in ML are fit for this role. Tanks are subdivided into: -Vanguards (offensive type that are initiators of a team fight, masters of repositioning enemies with cc. Examples are Khufra and Tigreal) -Wardens (defensive type that can take a lot of damage for the team and protect allies. Examples are Lolita and Hylos) Fighters are subdivided into: -Juggernauts (Has high sustain, decent damage, and cc, but low on mobility, so it's harder to close the gap on the enemies when using these heroes. These fighters are more on the Tank role. Examples are Terizla and Martis) -Divers (Has less sustain and cc than the juggernaut, but more on damage and mobility. These fighters are more on the assassin role. Examples are Alucard and Lapu-lapu) Due to the distinct playstyle and skillsets of each heroes, one can be a hybrid of the subclasses. Terizla, Martis, Belerick, and Gatotkaca can be a Vanguard/Juggernaut, because they're always in the frontline to initiate teamfight, and they have durability and damage, with addition to having cc in their kit. But they have little mobility making it harder for their skills to hit enemies. On the other hand, Uranus, Hylos, and Grock can be Warden/Juggernaut because they can sustain a lot of damage, while bringing a decent amount of damage once they have closed the gap on the enemies. They also have limited mobility on their kit.
Hes actually a great johnson counter as tank. And he has a really great execute tank with vengeance. Really dont like his first skills forced forward movement, puts him at enemies range to much.
Tip from my brother: if you dont have mage use martis and pick second go to mid clear the minions using second if you done go to blue or red you can deley the enimes
This is true. I did martis tank a lot of times when my teammates didn't adjust. His cc immune with damage reduction, passive at ultimate combined works well as either tank/fighter.
Wait thats the exact opposite, His effects are fine, his damage? sure Its not that bad but still bad. Sustain is the only good thing about him, He needs not just a damage buff or an faster animation speed but a complete revamp
I still remember when Martis just got release. He was a beast with his 2nd skill 3x dash, immunity, damage, movement speed boost after ulti, and his passive which give high attack speed. Such a great fighter.
The reason why fighters are falling behind is because of the many dashy bursty heroes getting all the love from Moonton. Fighters dont rely on DPS and can only deal a good amount of damage but that cant be considered burst, their sustain are not that strong and are melee by nature. Fighters are suppose to be the secone tanks of the team but that makes the pro players think that "If so, then why use a fighter? Why not use another tank instead?" Thats why Uranus, Esmeralda, Masha are some of the top picks in the Exp lane, and by coincidence they have the tank role.
As a Martis main. I use petrify as a battle spell. And i build him damge build early to mid game and sell those items to buy tank items for the late game.
Honestly the only way you can play martis properly is either tank or melee marksman build, since for some reason his passive stacking with all the atk speed items and inspire can shred any enemy without proper defense against basic attacks. Fighter build will bring you nowhere since his dmg falls at late game 100%,and his spell vamp and dmg with fighter build is not that great even at mid game. This is why you need to choose full dmg atk speed or full tank instead.
It’s because they are melee range, a Pro Mage, MM and Assassin can CC or kite them. The good thing is that their sustain & dps is really good late game with a few defensive items so they can usually come out on top in a long fight
Ironicly playing as Tank Martis is a better figther than full damage because you will get a big chuckle if you see one of your enemies low Hp while they cant do damage to you and he is probably one of the best clean up characters like Karina and Zilong because of their ults.
Maybe increase by 5% + (30% dmg) that max at 5 stacks. I'm just worried that Martis will turn into another hilda or become overpowered and the 30% dmg will influence more people to use him as a dps instead.
@@weakboy6462 hilda does max hp%, maybe 5% with (30% max/6 stack) for 5 seconds (increased physical) would balance him out By that it applies to his skills, not only his basic attack.
As a tank argus y'll understand how volatile you hp and at the same time losing you breath for chasing fast mobility heroes and failing killing them because you sacrificed your items for tank items So far this is the best helpful build i get for being a tank argus. (and trust its hard to use this) Tough boots Thunderbelt Immortality Brute force Apocalypse wings Antique quirass (you have no damage you only have one cc skill 10 seconds tower dive if you dont hit the enemy) One more tricky build is changing two items with two magics items. Antique quirass - Fleeting time Bruteforce - Ice wand. This playstyle need you to kill enemy everytime they go solo.
I used Martis tank and it took a lot of effort to change my playstyle which is push/kill. He's good as a tank in the late game but his ulti isn't really cut out for a tank role not unless it's a full blown team fight then you can finish the squishy heroes. Another problem is he lacks a spell vamp or physical lifesteal when he engages either by burst heroes and can be neutralized by DPS heroes accompanied by support heroes like Angela or Faramis.
suggestion:some lifesteal on him like blood axe and the oracle to enhance his lifesteal or maybe do the opposite:how about marksman role so we could benefit more on his passive. build idea:swift boots,wind talker,phantom blade,berseker's fury,malefic roar/or Blade of despair,and maybe wind of nature for the lifesteal and immunity against physical heroes for a short period of time emblem:I gues go all out with the "Weapon master" emblem talent for the Marksman emblem hope this helps😊
Martis is actually suitable for any roles like roam/tank or jungler/tank when played with the right hands. Especially because of the meta right now. But when the new emblem system will be applied I expect for him to be played as a roam/tank because the new emblem system will remove the jungling emblem as well as the physical and magic emblem. But when the new jungling system where the buff will appear 5 seconds earlieris applied, I think it will be hard for him to delay the enemy jungler anymore.
Although honestly the passive should change to that its either add a speed boost in every stack which is fair or overbuff him and make him the Physical version of Karina.
I love martis as he’s my 3rd fav fighter to use, but just like what elgin said, he’s way too squishy and his dmg still falls off way too late in the game. Yes his buff was good, especially on his ult, it still doesn’t change that he’ll be completely useless once enemies start to be a lot tankier, and squishy heroes can easily buy Dreadnaught Armor or Dominance Ice to completely nullify his overall dmg. And this is for some reason solved by turning them into tanks, since their dmg alrdy falls off in late game, why not make them rly tanky to compensate for their lack of dmg and can still be somewhat useful in late game. Hopefully, they actually give some other adjustment/buffs to these fighters like better durability/dmg when the late game happens or change how their overall passives work. So for now, _it is fighters as tanks meta.._
what's also good about tank martis is that you could steal most of the kills with ultimate early game (if you have ultimate ready and with patience) and get called "ks"
It is true in this meta fighters are meant to be used as semi tanks I recently used masha, sun as well as other heroes with semi tank build and they are good👍
i think his best role is being a secondary tank in exp lane. I took this inspiration from BTK when Carti used chou tank on the sidelane. Tank Martis on the side helps provide secondary sustain and cc to your main tank while not being the main focus of the incoming damage. I took this path cause his attack scalings are horrid XD but worked out very well. Now i wonder if this scaling buff will be enough to make half damage martis viable

i sometimes use him as roamer this current and the previous season while most of the time he’s on exp lane. he’s actually a good counter for johnson and other cc heroes. this season i already played him 120 times and only got defeated 7 times, also i got 4 savage from him. he’s nice!
karina does WAY more damage even if you were on tank duty since she has her first skill to litterally counter marksmans and a passive that lets her counter both damage dealers and tanks when in a team fight. her skill 1 will make the enemies stop attacking, her 2nd skill is nice for chip damage, her ult is an insane blink that resets on kill (kill of the marked enemy) which means she can counter markmans, tanks, and damage dealers. the amount of bs that comes with her damage is insane
With the changes of the items in defense which is blade armor,Dominance Ice and Twilight armor This has good enough descriptions that can fit for Martis Dominance Ice for anti life steal Twilight armor good for martis's passive And Blade armor good for his 2nd skill's passive altho the problem is you need at least like have at least 30% CD reduction or rather just build this items for Martis and just go full defense.... Just wanting to share my thoughts because I'm one of those who uses Martis
Honestly, It's all about the user who plays martis. My friend is South Cotabato Num.1 Martis, Senior title and he always go Martis fighter. Tank martis of course, it's good for supporting our teammates and Fighter in the other hand is good for sustainability. It's just my opinion so please don't hate.
A step to the right direction of giving Martis a buff with out making him stupidly OP or too OP is to make the phase 2 of his Skill 2 not restart the skill cool down to 8 sec again
Fun fact of Elgin theory of fighter not resuming their as fighters. This is one of them Argus: Argus early game potential is not good for the exp lanes as the fighters there has stronger early game potential so gold lane is the better for argus as once he gets his core items his damage skyrocket. Plus he can easily bully marksman.
Well , Martis requires more experience to use. I cant tell that i'm a martis expert, but still got some tips to share. ! indicates hardness 1. Martis first skill is long range, can wait at the side lane bush to pull the enemy out. (!) 2. Use first skill to gather the minion to clear them faster. (!) 3. Second skill cast time is slow, always use it with first skill. (!) 4. Second skill first cast have three slash, only got two slash have knockback, move the joystick to the invert direction of skill cast to catch the enemy, (!!) 5. Second skill second cast can knock airbone and knockback the enemy at the invert direction of skill cast. (!!!) 6. Ultimate can use as catch up skill. (!) 7. Use ultimate to catch up enemy when they use flicker. (!!!) I kept something more for myself, go increase his win rate. b(￣▽￣)d
As a marksman main, I can say that fighters going tank is the most hardest and thickest skinned heroes to kill tbh rather than the actual tank heroes. I'm not saying they are bad but its just that fighter tanks are friggin hard to kill. For example yin and paquito, their skills, mobility and sustainability with a tank build are a total pain in the ass :D NGL.
To my opinion,most fighters has either insane lifesteal(dyrroth) or insane mobility and sustainability rather than martis. Martis is focused on cc,painful true damage and halfway survivability. The only thing he's lacking is lifesteal and spellvamp doesn't seem to work on him. Haas claws might be good but he either would be controlled after that or you might not be tough enough
I've been using Martis as Tank when his buff came out. You can literally dive in Jungle without worry because of his 2nd and stagger most enemies as well as you can support your Ult or KS it. He can even cancel Akai's Ult with his Knock up 2nd skill
Martis tank is really good. I don't understand why people don't bluse it even with the 60% damage reduction and cc immunity. It can still deal good damage because of his ult that can deal true damage ti enemies. As a solo ranker, it helped me reach m2 from legend rank.
Martis can cast CC on you but YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO DISTURB HIM while doing it even you use a CC skill against him, because he is immune to CC except for "Suppressed". And with the help of his ultimate he can kill enemies even in tank build because it deals true damage (only if his target is low HP), also resets it CD and increases his movement speed and run like a killer maniac. Additionally,in Tank build, because he is durable in that state, he can soak as many as high damage while CCing his enemies. That's he's good and it works pretty well.
Terizla is good at both tank and fighter role His damage in early game is so strong that you can dominate the lane ez Also he becomes almost unkillable with his sustain and his passive with defence item One thing that holds him back is he is too slow to chase someone his 1st skill gains him speed boost but you have to hit someone to gain that One buff that he can use is increased walking speed and cannot escape the ult with anything (like yins ult and silvanna)
Doesn't matter if tank or fighter. 40% cooldown reduction matters to me more. Martis is a sitting duck for bursts and focus fire on any team fights when skill 2 is on cooldown.

Martis tank isnt right because he has kill secure ult! He should be played as hyper or maybe midlaner with a mage as roamer like valir or xavier.

1. Martis is a really good early game fighter, thanks to his dmg reduction, anti-cc, CC and attk speed he can win his lane early just play aggressive he can even compete with Esme or Thamuz but just on lvl 1 and 2
2. He is a good support while taking the turtle because of his early damage and by his skill 1+flicker combo he can surprise enemies in the backline and push them away for your team to secure the turtle.
3. This is my favorite thing, Martis is useful in distrupting enemies' tank sets like tigreal or khufra because they also have slow animation but not on Atlas though
4. Martis is a teamfight hero except you are so ahead on the enemy's lvl or gold, he can't just fight alone
5. Martis is a KS hero (Kill Securing lol) after his first ulti he gains movement speed to chase others or run away.
6. I never been play Martis in tank role but I think playing him fighter is enough? Because I know in late game his damage drops off but he will be a good support/addition in teamfights. Just build him with defense items don't go full damage always
Tips:
1. Martis can clear lane fast, use this for your advantage, since you can kill or lower the HP of your enemy in your lane in huge amount you can cut lane afterward
2. Never use skill 2's second phase (knock-up) if unnecessary skill 1 and skill 2 first phase is enough for your passive to be full, this way you can always ready your second skill because it will have a short cooldown
3. Use skill 2's second phase when the enemy chasing you and they're close to you to knockup them and push them away
4. Skill 1 can distrupt enemies positioning and has a slow effect.
5. He can use his ult in enemies with immortality, he will enter the second phase if you did. It also works on clones Guin's and Sun's but not on puppets or spawns, dont use ult in xborg's armor and masha's other HP bars even though there's an indicator to use your ult
I think I am the only one who disagrees about Martis should get a revamp because I'm scared maybe they will remove his anti cc or damage reduction or lower it. He only needs buff🙃 faster animation? Or cd reduc?

I started ranking late this season, just last week to be precise but i reached mythic in just few hours of gaming over a week, around two hours of gaming daily or less I'd say. Somedays i just played two matches. Anyway what I tried and learn was as follows: Use annoying heroes (mostly mobile heroes), go for tank build and play aggressive, also taunt enemies while you're at it. In that way you instinctively become the target for the enemy whenever you're in sight. FYI: Your build must have those items that gives you borrowed time such as bloodwings, immortality and winter truncheon.
Since you can sustain now, you'll be buying time for teammates in various situations aswell as using up ur opponents skills and many more. Note: Be aggressive and annoying whenever you can but only with an objective in mind like stalling for Lord or letting a lane get pushed or just to screw up with their positions. Had great success with Valentina and Chou. Wish I could make a video myself for the positioning tips and other details. Anyway just wanted to upload all my crazy tactics. 🤣 Thank you if you read it.
Martis is one of those OP heroes when it comes to sustain and dealing true damage. But the main problem for Martis is his Slow Animations when using his skills such as his 1st and hia 2nd. My main Suggestions for him to bring him in the Meta are as follows
1st Skill: Reduce Charge Animation and Add/Bring Back Stun effect.
Fun Fact: Martis 1st skill on release has a Stun effect which made him OP.
2nd Skill: Reduce Charge Animation (Literally my Main problem with this skill which allows the enemy to escape and dodge it)
3rd Skill: Every time Martis kills an enemy Using his Ultimate Martis Gains 100% Movement Speed until the 10s Cooldown Reset is over, (In the current version Martis gains 100% Movement speed for 3s after killing a hero using his ultimate)
Note: These are suggestions to make him into the meta It may be Op but it is a one time opportunity for him to be part of the popularity.

In my own experience, I think it is better to use the Brave Smite emblem so that you can get an HP back while using your CC skills (1st & 2nd). Martis' 1st skill has SLOW and his 2nd skill has x3 knockback and x1 airborne. This will give him more sustain in team fights, especially as a tank.
Slow effect doesn't activate brave smite.
Only control skill, like airborne, stun, displacement and knock back.

I use khaleed as tank once in a while before and and it's pretty decent in terms of survivality thanks to skill 2. Easily travel from bot to top lane cuz of his passive. And his 1st skill deals a decent damage. Quite useful just poke some enemies along the way.

I will be showing the Tank and Fighter subclasses and give examples on which heroes in ML are fit for this role.
Tanks are subdivided into:
-Vanguards (offensive type that are initiators of a team fight, masters of repositioning enemies with cc. Examples are Khufra and Tigreal)
-Wardens (defensive type that can take a lot of damage for the team and protect allies. Examples are Lolita and Hylos)
Fighters are subdivided into:
-Juggernauts (Has high sustain, decent damage, and cc, but low on mobility, so it's harder to close the gap on the enemies when using these heroes. These fighters are more on the Tank role. Examples are Terizla and Martis)
-Divers (Has less sustain and cc than the juggernaut, but more on damage and mobility. These fighters are more on the assassin role. Examples are Alucard and Lapu-lapu)
Due to the distinct playstyle and skillsets of each heroes, one can be a hybrid of the subclasses.
Terizla, Martis, Belerick, and Gatotkaca can be a Vanguard/Juggernaut, because they're always in the frontline to initiate teamfight, and they have durability and damage, with addition to having cc in their kit. But they have little mobility making it harder for their skills to hit enemies.
On the other hand, Uranus, Hylos, and Grock can be Warden/Juggernaut because they can sustain a lot of damage, while bringing a decent amount of damage once they have closed the gap on the enemies. They also have limited mobility on their kit.
I really like the 2nd skill of Martis and I often overuse it to push back enemies and annoy them

That forward movement make sense if the Skill had its original 1 sec stun instead of the 40% slow

My brother has been using Martis as a Tank for a long time, together with me using Rafaela, we can shut down almost any early junglers in the game.
Tip from my brother: if you dont have mage use martis and pick second go to mid clear the minions using second if you done go to blue or red you can deley the enimes

The reason why fighters are falling behind is because of the many dashy bursty heroes getting all the love from Moonton. Fighters dont rely on DPS and can only deal a good amount of damage but that cant be considered burst, their sustain are not that strong and are melee by nature. Fighters are suppose to be the secone tanks of the team but that makes the pro players think that "If so, then why use a fighter? Why not use another tank instead?"
Thats why Uranus, Esmeralda, Masha are some of the top picks in the Exp lane, and by coincidence they have the tank role.

I use petrify as a battle spell.
And i build him damge build early to mid game and sell those items to buy tank items for the late game.
Honestly the only way you can play martis properly is either tank or melee marksman build, since for some reason his passive stacking with all the atk speed items and inspire can shred any enemy without proper defense against basic attacks. Fighter build will bring you nowhere since his dmg falls at late game 100%,and his spell vamp and dmg with fighter build is not that great even at mid game. This is why you need to choose full dmg atk speed or full tank instead.

It’s because they are melee range, a Pro Mage, MM and Assassin can CC or kite them. The good thing is that their sustain & dps is really good late game with a few defensive items so they can usually come out on top in a long fight
Ironicly playing as Tank Martis is a better figther than full damage because you will get a big chuckle if you see one of your enemies low Hp while they cant do damage to you and he is probably one of the best clean up characters like Karina and Zilong because of their ults.

Would make martis passive turned into: each successful skill hits one enemy will increase the next basic attack by 20% (up to 5 stacks)
Maybe increase by 5% + (30% dmg) that max at 5 stacks. I'm just worried that Martis will turn into another hilda or become overpowered and the 30% dmg will influence more people to use him as a dps instead.

By that it applies to his skills, not only his basic attack.
As a tank argus y'll understand how volatile you hp and at the same time losing you breath for chasing fast mobility heroes and failing killing them because you sacrificed your items for tank items
So far this is the best helpful build i get for being a tank argus. (and trust its hard to use this)

This playstyle need you to kill enemy everytime they go solo.
I used Martis tank and it took a lot of effort to change my playstyle which is push/kill. He's good as a tank in the late game but his ulti isn't really cut out for a tank role not unless it's a full blown team fight then you can finish the squishy heroes. Another problem is he lacks a spell vamp or physical lifesteal when he engages either by burst heroes and can be neutralized by DPS heroes accompanied by support heroes like Angela or Faramis.
suggestion:some lifesteal on him like
blood axe and the oracle to enhance his lifesteal
or maybe do the opposite:how about marksman role so we could benefit more on his passive.
build idea:swift boots,wind talker,phantom blade,berseker's fury,malefic roar/or Blade of despair,and maybe wind of nature for the lifesteal and immunity against physical heroes for a short period of time
emblem:I gues go all out with the "Weapon master" emblem talent for the Marksman emblem

There are many non-meta fighters due to the fact that fighters have the biggest number of heroes in general.
Martis is actually suitable for any roles like roam/tank or jungler/tank when played with the right hands. Especially because of the meta right now. But when the new emblem system will be applied I expect for him to be played as a roam/tank because the new emblem system will remove the jungling emblem as well as the physical and magic emblem. But when the new jungling system where the buff will appear 5 seconds earlieris applied, I think it will be hard for him to delay the enemy jungler anymore.
Although honestly the passive should change to that its either add a speed boost in every stack which is fair or overbuff him and make him the Physical version of Karina.
Or make the casting speed faster actually.

Why those fighters are not meta?
One word: Outsustained.
Martis can be jungler, side lane or roam. Depends on the line of team and enemy.
I love martis as he’s my 3rd fav fighter to use, but just like what elgin said, he’s way too squishy and his dmg still falls off way too late in the game. Yes his buff was good, especially on his ult, it still doesn’t change that he’ll be completely useless once enemies start to be a lot tankier, and squishy heroes can easily buy Dreadnaught Armor or Dominance Ice to completely nullify his overall dmg. And this is for some reason solved by turning them into tanks, since their dmg alrdy falls off in late game, why not make them rly tanky to compensate for their lack of dmg and can still be somewhat useful in late game. Hopefully, they actually give some other adjustment/buffs to these fighters like better durability/dmg when the late game happens or change how their overall passives work. So for now, _it is fighters as tanks meta.._

i think his best role is being a secondary tank in exp lane. I took this inspiration from BTK when Carti used chou tank on the sidelane. Tank Martis on the side helps provide secondary sustain and cc to your main tank while not being the main focus of the incoming damage. I took this path cause his attack scalings are horrid XD but worked out very well. Now i wonder if this scaling buff will be enough to make half damage martis viable

i sometimes use him as roamer this current and the previous season while most of the time he’s on exp lane. he’s actually a good counter for johnson and other cc heroes. this season i already played him 120 times and only got defeated 7 times, also i got 4 savage from him. he’s nice!
karina does WAY more damage even if you were on tank duty since she has her first skill to litterally counter marksmans and a passive that lets her counter both damage dealers and tanks when in a team fight. her skill 1 will make the enemies stop attacking, her 2nd skill is nice for chip damage, her ult is an insane blink that resets on kill (kill of the marked enemy) which means she can counter markmans, tanks, and damage dealers. the amount of bs that comes with her damage is insane
With the changes of the items in defense which is blade armor,Dominance Ice and Twilight armor
This has good enough descriptions that can fit for Martis
Dominance Ice for anti life steal
Twilight armor good for martis's passive
And Blade armor good for his 2nd skill's passive altho the problem is you need at least like have at least 30% CD reduction or rather just build this items for Martis and just go full defense....

Honestly, It's all about the user who plays martis. My friend is South Cotabato Num.1 Martis, Senior title and he always go Martis fighter. Tank martis of course, it's good for supporting our teammates and Fighter in the other hand is good for sustainability. It's just my opinion so please don't hate.
A step to the right direction of giving Martis a buff with out making him stupidly OP or too OP is to make the phase 2 of his Skill 2 not restart the skill cool down to 8 sec again

Fun fact of Elgin theory of fighter not resuming their as fighters. This is one of them Argus: Argus early game potential is not good for the exp lanes as the fighters there has stronger early game potential so gold lane is the better for argus as once he gets his core items his damage skyrocket. Plus he can easily bully marksman.
Well , Martis requires more experience to use. I cant tell that i'm a martis expert, but still got some tips to share.

1. Martis first skill is long range, can wait at the side lane bush to pull the enemy out. (!)
2. Use first skill to gather the minion to clear them faster. (!)
3. Second skill cast time is slow, always use it with first skill. (!)
4. Second skill first cast have three slash, only got two slash have knockback, move the joystick to the invert direction of skill cast to catch the enemy, (!!)
5. Second skill second cast can knock airbone and knockback the enemy at the invert direction of skill cast. (!!!)
6. Ultimate can use as catch up skill. (!)
7. Use ultimate to catch up enemy when they use flicker. (!!!)

As a marksman main, I can say that fighters going tank is the most hardest and thickest skinned heroes to kill tbh rather than the actual tank heroes. I'm not saying they are bad but its just that fighter tanks are friggin hard to kill. For example yin and paquito, their skills, mobility and sustainability with a tank build are a total pain in the ass :D NGL.
As a Martis user. He can be a tank build core. Great to deal against Johnson. He needs revamp to get back in the meta
To my opinion,most fighters has either insane lifesteal(dyrroth) or insane mobility and sustainability rather than martis.
Martis is focused on cc,painful true damage and halfway survivability. The only thing he's lacking is lifesteal and spellvamp doesn't seem to work on him. Haas claws might be good but he either would be controlled after that or you might not be tough enough
I've been using Martis as Tank when his buff came out. You can literally dive in Jungle without worry because of his 2nd and stagger most enemies as well as you can support your Ult or KS it. He can even cancel Akai's Ult with his Knock up 2nd skill
, Akai's ult now can only be cancelled by supress and morph.
Martis tank is really good. I don't understand why people don't bluse it even with the 60% damage reduction and cc immunity. It can still deal good damage because of his ult that can deal true damage ti enemies. As a solo ranker, it helped me reach m2 from legend rank.
Martis can cast CC on you but YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO DISTURB HIM while doing it even you use a CC skill against him, because he is immune to CC except for "Suppressed". And with the help of his ultimate he can kill enemies even in tank build because it deals true damage (only if his target is low HP), also resets it CD and increases his movement speed and run like a killer maniac. Additionally,in Tank build, because he is durable in that state, he can soak as many as high damage while CCing his enemies. That's he's good and it works pretty well.

As a Margie main with 10000 matches I can definitely tell he is very good tank and adaptable to the team

Doesn't matter if tank or fighter. 40% cooldown reduction matters to me more. Martis is a sitting duck for bursts and focus fire on any team fights when skill 2 is on cooldown.
