@@iamthereinforcements1972 Daigo only taunts for optimal gameplay, to max his damage output. I believe that this crowd does not know much about third strike. They hype for some very normal stuff like Chun cr.mk hit confirm into SA2, or think that Daigo was taunting instead of buffing his Ken damage output
@@iamthereinforcements1972 As a side note, Chun's taunt isn't optimal for gameplay, and post round taunts have no practical effect, so Ricky was just being a dick with the taunt EDIT: Chun's taunt has some uses in some very niche scenarios
Due to the weird things happening in this match (judgement and replay of a game) daigo offered ricky to play a decisive extra game (the last game shown in the video), even though in theory he had already won.
Robin Williams 3S is such an amazing game. I remember seeing this match when it was a year old, had no idea it even existed. Kinda wished they brought it back.
@@daakrolb It only happens on double KO's or time over. There's no 100% of telling who wins. Some say It's random, some say It's based on the results screen grade, but it's too arbitrary to tell which is why it never counted as a W.
I'm pretty sure in this era of 3s, the American crowd didn't know that taunts buff the damage. Especially Ken's taunt. Since Ricky did his (now hers) after the KO
You know, the one thing that a lot of players don't have that Daigo does: stamina. Everyone always seems to lose composure after the second match (excepting Valle).
For those wondering, taunting has in-game effects (in this case, it increases Ken's attack).
Thanks for ruining it for me! I always had a laugh thinking that Daigo was trying to be funny!
I think they were taunting for both reasons. You can tell by the crowds reaction.

@@Unit_00 i couldn't agree more, glad he lost he should've finished the job. Punkass
For those wondering, the judgement round didnt count. So were (rightfully so) the rules of evo (the name of the tournament). They replayed that round.
Gross

I have never seen a "Judgement". I didn't even know that was a thing.

Me too! I assume it happens in a tie when time is up. But what decides the judgement???

JUDGEMENT! HOLY HELL WHAT A WAY TO WIN
It's so hard to deal with chun in this game
Capcom has a lot of weebs with hard-ons for CL, they weakened her in SF5 thankfully
You gotta get in her face and make scared to do anything. Most Chuns crumple at close range.
5:28 I love how the music just goes quiet as daigo waits for Rickis bait
Cool asf
Daigo literally invented a strategy while playing the match
The taunt buffs Kens stats, it's not disrespect. Either the crowd is being super childish or they simply don't know this.
Rewatch the video: they respond to the well-timed taunts the same as they do every other nicely executed move in the match. They get it.
@@zachdms Ah ok. In any case they are really enjoying it either way and that's all that matters :)

Daigo is so damn talented, beating top tier Chun players with Ken just proves he's the best SF3 player out there imo
Daigo was never the best in 3s, not even in Japan
@@Albert-lj5jb Daigo literally won SBO in the heyday of 3s competition

wow , LOOK AT THIS@!@!!!! hell yeah!
Judgement! lmao
👍🏻
Killer instincts.
LOL!!! Epic
Weird know Daigo doesn’t like this game

Okay... um second match second round XD how did that V turn into a P for the win icon?
Never noticed. That is odd. :)
Preppy .... FGC Illuminati? XD
The rest of that match starts at 6:31 nice try preppy -____-
Late reply: apparently Ricky had stick problems so they reset the match.
+cakefinale XD oh thank you.
You got to admit that sweeping was pretty cheap but whatever it takes in blood sport lol!
Karmaaaaa 😆
How come Daigo is so disrespectful with the constant taunts ? Isn't it uncharacteristic of him?
He's not being disrespectful. Taunting increases Ken's attacks by 10% or something. It has a different effect for each character.
This comment thread is so funny to me.
It increases stats.
Do you even know SF 3?
33% percent I believe.
