    As an electrical engineer and former aircraft electrician, I love the cleanliness of that install. The connectivity and functionality of it is amazing too. I need to pay off my house so I get my own Grenadier, so many great ideas and mods from Agile Off-Road. I am glad they are working with people like Fox who actually own shock dynos and aren't just worried about a number on the tape measure at the fender.
    I do have one safety concern after finishing the video, it isn't clear to me whether that iPad and RAM mount are clear of the passenger airbag 'throw' area. I would think someone as detail oriented as John has done the analysis on that, but thought I should mention it.

    So, have to say, loved the Grenadier. Always wanted a Defender. Ordered two, cancelled the first, couldn’t understand the dual battery system, reordered without, but at the end looked at a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe, got it for $45k, 1/2 of the Grenadier. Would have loved the Grenadier, but it can’t compete with a Jeep. Maybe later. But not for double the price.

    Owning a Grenadier in Belgium I have a real interest in the integration of Switch Pros and cerbo screen in the overhead panel. Does Agile offroad ship to BE and especially is there documentation how to route the wiring through the A pillar of the Grenadier. Could not yet find out, would be so helpful and accelerate decision making :) Cheers

      Everyone in the US is either buying aftermarket kits from Agile, Owl, or OK4WD - or direct from manufacturers. One thing John and the Agile team do so well is integration - they work direct with suppliers and make sure it really works - then do the assembly or coordinate modification so it basically works out of the box. A lot of us have benefited from the work John and his team have done. They are running a class operation.

    • @backwoodstherapy
      @backwoodstherapy 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Yeah, the most common thing I've heard from auto reviewers regarding the Ineos is the price - feature wise, it's about on par with your typical Wrangler Rubicon, but you can find those on any dealer lot in the country for $55k or less. This one is $75k+ and is much harder to find. You're paying $20k for the _exclusivity._

    Just FYI My daughter in law and son rented a jeep Wagoneer man 2023 I believe... What a beautiful ride luxurious!!!!!!! Until we hit the Grapevine on 5 heading south bound. AC on and the engine started to over heat. Had to let vehicle cool off and once it did. We proceeded on our way ...
    Felt like a Cadillac smooth and plenty of Amenities...
    Unfortunately my son and his wife traded it for a Ford Expedition. Not bad vehicle... In it self. But the Wagoneer was smooth.

    Nothing looks as cool as the Grenadier, aside from a Jeep with the top and doors off. I think Land Rover shot themselves in the foot when they stopped making the Defender look like this. I mean there's a whole industry of taking older body Defenders and upgrading them to have all the features of a new vehicle and people pay like $200k for that.
    But on the Grenadier I'm hoping they change the engine at some point and get rid of that stupid looking shifter. It's so out of place in that really cool cockpit style.

      If Land Rover had evolved the Defender every eight years or so like Jeep did with the Wrangler, this would be the Defender. Instead, Land Rover left the Defender in 1983 until they legally couldn't any more and all they had to replace it was a rebodied Discovery. The current Defender is what the Discovery should be and the Grenadier is what the Defender should be.

    • @backwoodstherapy
      @backwoodstherapy 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      Grenadier has the least aftermarket support. Also, very few dealerships and most mechanics won't really know how to work on them for more than just the basic stuff due to the fact there aren't really many around. Both it and the new LC have unproven reliability - I suspect the Grenadier will have electrical gremlins like nearly all British vehicles, and the new Toyotas haven't been known for their robustness. I'd personally go with the bronco. It's been around a few years, has large aftermarket support, can get it worked on at any Ford dealer, and it's issues are known since it's been out a few years. It just doesn't have the cool new "wow, cool!" Factor of the LC and Ineos. The Ineos in particular has a premium price ($75k+ )for features you'd find in a Jeep Rubicon you can get for $20k cheaper. You're paying $20k extra for the right of having an exclusive vehicle.

      It's HDPE. They are routinely used as cutting surfaces is restaurants. Using a wood product in this situation is not good. There's enough moisture that has caused wooden cutting boards to mold. Cutting foods on it will not result in microplastic particles getting into the food. HDPE is pretty benign and safe for the food industry.

      It’s Leitner Designs out of California - I have the HD bars and Sidekick MOLLE panel - their stuff is brilliant. Perfect fit, extraordinary quality. They make bars, a 3/4 rack and a full rack for the Grenadier, plus a few other Grenadier-specific products (like light brackets for the front bumper). Cannot recommend them highly enough.

    It’s a BMW at heart. 80,000 miles and then it turns into a money pit. Looks cool and runs good for a while! @muddyruttzz

      @@Doc-Ock2003 You got lucky. I have friends that started having to dump money in to X5s at around 80,000. Stupid stuff like window motors but also transmission stuff. Pretty well known Mercedes, Audi, BMW start requiring expensive maintenance when Toyotas are just getting broken in.

      The engine was detuned to last longer. Ineos says 200k before replacing major parts. Keep in mind the engine has been modified for Ineos.

      BMW 6 cylinder motors are strong running and last very well. They have great reputations.

      That’s 20 year old news. The B58 is running everywhere all over the world - it’s brilliant, especially married to that ZF transmission. That’s why Toyota went with it, themselves (maybe would have been a good idea for the Tundra as well as the Supra).
