Certainly my favorite U2 song at any U2 concert I attend, it's my personal hightlight just right before Beautiful Day ;). I have though a couple of other UTEOTW live versions which I personally would rank higher, the 1992 DC version, the 2001 Brits version or the Mexico 1997 version, just an awesome sound ! :)))
I bought this album when it first came out. I don't know about this being the "best"-- But it certainly is up there. The Washington D.C. performance was pretty damn good and so was the Charlotte version-- All can be found on bootlegs and probably on YT. There's also a bootleg called 'Zoo Radio' that has a great performance of this and the other songs from this album-- It was a radio program that aired here in the states-- A must have for any U2 fan.
I first heard this in 96 and I still agree that is the best performance of UTOTW ever, although I though the performance was from the concert in Anaheim. I have never found the whole concert from the day they recorded this version.
I loved this album so much! Thanks for posting. Do you have that PM Dawn/George Michael collaboration, too? If so, please post. I can’t find it anywhere.
This song and Bullet the Blue Sky are absolute dynamite guitar demonstrations from the Edge 😲
What is it about this song that ranks in my top favorite songs? Just amazing music, genius lead guitarist
