Were you concerned about the boost the car runs on high compression pistons ? The 420i is over 11:1 compression , very high for a turbo engine. I’m not tuning mine because a high number of tuned 20is crack pistons. And I’ve mapped every turbo car I’ve owned previously. People believe these have the same engine as the 430i but they don’t - the 430i has different pistons giving a lower compression ratio and being more boost friendly.
11:1 compression is reasonably high from a turbo engine and higher compression ratios in bmw petrol turbo is quite common place but from my experience the issue is becoming knock limited. We tend to be less aggressive with ignition advance as you become knock limited a lot faster on a higher compression turbo engine. Pushing too hard with ignition advance will see detonation and in severe cases, cracking pistons is possible.
That hoover in the background was not very earphone friendly 🥲 also where the intro atttt. You’ve taught me a lot over the years now Joey and I’d always choose a smooth graph as opposed to **** waving numbers. Such a massive difference and the face after the run shows it all, great results 👍🏻
I did have a crack at losing the reducing the background noise but it didn't work as well as i hoped. We dont do an intro on every video, it all depends on what footage we have, time etc but we will see what we can do moving forward.
