Most effective way to beat a swordmaster is to shot em with xbows and bows. They have low range defense. Also using nets is pretty much helpful

That champion swordmaster is the reason why you need some nimble duelist guys with fast adaptation.
Nimble duelist won't help in this case. It had high melee defense and low ranged defense. Archers and throwing specialists would have helped a lot.
