- Avenue 26 Taco Stand's tacos are considered by some to be the best in Los Angeles, and possibly the entire country (Insider said so in 2017). They serve $1 tacos right off a long grill on the street, with people lining up all night for these delicious tacos. As one of the essential restaurants on the eastside of LA, Ave 26 is known for carne asada, al pastor, and suadero tacos. Insider's Joe Avella visited with L.A. Taco's Javier Cabral to learn about this street-taco institution, why they are so popular, and to try these beloved tacos.

Actually there is a taco stand on the valley, in van nuys (near the intersection of Van Nuys and Sherman Way)
I got the 2 tacos for $1 spot in East LA corner in Whittier
I’m from Boston and when I visited LA a year ago I discovered these street taquerias. I was at a hotel downtown that had basically nothing but overpriced, mediocre food around it so I decided to try this small family owned taco food truck across the street (I think the family was from Veracruz). I ate and chatted with construction workers who ate at the truck everyday during their breaks. the food was so good and so cheap. tacos like those are just as great as the people who make them! There is something special about cultures in which food plays such a vital role in community, and Mexican culture is a prime example.
I'm born and raised in Lincoln Heights but currently living the life in Tokyo, Japan. Videos like this really bring me back to my roots. The smells of the beef, pork, limes, and other ingredients is something that will always call me back to my hometown. Standing in front of the taqueros while they crank out taco after taco is a replay I will take to my grave and tell others in Japan. I used to walk by there long ago when I was going to Nightingale MS with my friends. Never thought this unassuming, barrio taqueria would blow up. There are thousands all over LA just like this so it's interesting to me this one has made an impact to many others.
In 2023 I'll visit my mom who's still living there and I understand it has moved to Little Tokyo; which is weird lol. I hope this video never gets lost or taken down.

Im a mexican , been to the states many times , specially Cali and yeah the tacos are the same as in Mexico , actually ive had some carnitas at some market in L.A and those are by far the best carnitas ive ever had , the pork has more flavor up in the staes
I eat here after roller blading in a group that tours the city and starts in Little Tokyo. I didn’t realize this place had gotten media attention, but that’s a cool part about living in LA! There’s so much interesting stuff going on. It feels like you’re in the center of the world.

The only similarity is the shape, the meat is pork vs beef for obvious reasons and the taste is nothing like kebab. Tacos are small so you can eat 10 and kebab is a sandwich so you only eat one and the vegetables are fresh

I have been going to those guys forever I remember the first time on Verdugo Road not too far from there tacos were 2 for a dollar before good days there but always the best tacos might have to pass by again soon
There is a spot I would love to recommend for you guys to go check out it's an Avenue 26 as well but San Fernando Road Cypress Park the taco guys there so delicious tacos are very good and they have a bit of everything as well I would recommend if you guys can check the place out very good food very good tacos
