I bought a Trek Earl Bontrager back in 2007 like yours and its held up extremely well! I still ride it today. It's been a great bike! It's lite and easy to carry. Only ever have to change out cables and brake pads once in a while
Have not used a bicycle since I was a teenager up until my wife and I rented some during our recent trip to Canada to ride along the coast in the summer. Enjoyed it so much that now Im looking to purchase one and now I definitely know to purchase this model! Thank you for taking the time to make this video. Stay safe.

This is a really sturdy bike for the casual rider, I ride the same one. I changed the contact points (Saddle, Grips and Pedals) and kept the rest as is. Does the job!

Congrats on a new addiction, Quady. Coming from someone who rode BMX as a juvenile, mountain biked as a teenager, then raced road bikes in my early adult hood for . I no longer ride as often as I used to, but trying to ease back into it with long distance endurance rides. I'd love to get back into the mountain bike scene someday. Couple sincere tips: Wear a helmet and get yourself a pair of decent quality padded bike shorts(it's life changing believe me). Good thing you choose a mountain bike, mountain bike shorts aren't as tight fitting as "regular bike shorts"

Happy bd CQ!!... enjoy your new bike. I've been into mountain biking off and on for 25 years. Great way to get out and explore. tips... always pack a pump and spare inner tube or at least a patch kit, and tire bead tools too. Gloves... full wrist and full finger. So your hands are protected if you crash. Nothing worse than trying to ride back home with scraped up hands. Adjust your saddle angle for best fit. I prefer my saddle a little tip down, so my weight is more on my sit bones. Helmet too... I consider this a must. Yep good grips are essential... Oury #8 are my faves. have fun!!!
I know all about hamburger hands after crashing one of my motorcycles a few years ago, gloves and a helmet or on the list

Nice trail! Mountain biking is the best sport for me. The single tracks look pretty fast and technical, which is great. Loads of those here in The Netherlands. I can always give some tips no prob.

Congrats and happy birthday!!! Also welcome to biking! It’s a great bike for someone getting into it. Dropper post are awesome. Can’t wait to see what dropper you put on. I went from spending $600 to $4000 in a year. Then got into gravel riding which set me back another $2500. But it’s fun and addicting as hell. You’ll see!!! 😂
But if you plan on doing upgrades I would definitely start with a dropper post and possibly a great saddle. The WTF volt is an awesome saddle and PNW has awesome droppers. I’d love to see more of your biking videos. I live in Waco Texas and we have awesome trails here. Can’t wait for the next one! 🍻🍻🍻
