This was a requested video, I made sure it was accurate, there's nothing else I can really do. Sure I could have not included certain games, but this an unbias list. Hope you guys enjoyed anyways, it's my 21st birthday so expect some drunk comment replies later.

I played House Of Caravan once, got stuck halfway through the game, found out it was a speedrunning game, and completed it within a minute. What a game.

*American Dad Intro% and TAS Intro%.* Newest and biggest HYPE of 2019. Less than a second by tool assisted runners and roughly 8-9 seconds by human. Very fascinating.
I came here expecting to see speedrunners finish 100-hour games in less than 5 minutes but instead I get moonwalking grandmas and shitty dating simulator flash games. But I guess these are the fastest 'games'.
You may wanna see Super Mario World finished in about 40s with the credits warp glitch. Not a 100-hour game, tho it's an incredible difficult exploit and very nice to see being done :)
3:50 i’m pretty sure that’s the spliced footage. i don’t remember but the world record was eventually proved spliced during the last clip when it’s pitch black(so no one could tell just by viewing)

Eh, I don't understand why people are so dramatic when it comes to speedrunning. But I do agree the list is poor and just... random with no eccentric games, no complex or interesting glitches/strategies besides "it's short... t-that's pretty much it". And if Mario 64 and Super Metroid make up the whole speedrunning genre, which if you don't know much about the topic in the first place and watch this video, I can see why you would think that. But yes, older games do have a tendency to get the most attention (although I'm nastalgic myself).
Because most of the interest in speed-running glitches comes in seen a game you knew and played and finding out; "Oh, there was this clever/sneaky way of doing that thing that took me so much effort! That's interesting" And people came in here to see that. Being told that that there are shitty half-baked games out there that can be completely skipped through a glitch or design shortsight comes as no revelation and feels mostly just dissapointing.

This is literally just a bunch of incredibly short games. Can we maybe get a list of speedruns where the most time was saved? It's no question that a speedrun with one level will be short, this is obvious.
I kindoff hoped for a video about speedruns that are short compared to the normal length of the game, but this was much more interesting that I had imagined.
Speedrun site or not, they shouldn't include any form of "Bad End" either. Only the "proper" ending to the game should be counted, regardless of whatever glitches or other nonsense is done to get there faster. At worst, this merely gets murky a bit when dealing with a particularly weird game like Stanly Parable.
The point of the speedrun is to beat the game as fast as possible, not to get the "proper" ending to the game. If the non-canonical Bad ending is much faster to get than a good ending, then chances are the majority of speedruns of that game are going to be of the Bad ending. Vice versa for the good ending being faster than the bad ending, too. Otherwise it's put into the any% (bad ending)/(good ending) category.

Taking the joy pill in "We Happy Few" reminds me of a friend on mine who couldn't understand the hype around The Stanley Parable. Turns out he just obeyed all of the instructions and "beat" the game without anything interesting happening.
The list was taken from speedrun.com, I didn't have any control over it. I'll probably make another version of this one with more "official" games or more speedran games. I'll figure something out.
These are the "quickest speedruns", not "most notable wrs". Most company's won't make a game be able to beat in minutes. What did you expect coming into this video?
When I thought of shortest, I immediately thought quick. "Short" doesn't really describe "Notable World Records", I assume this is where all the dislikes came from . . .
The short exit in Happy Few isn't weird. It tells you, you can take the easy way out and still "win", but how does it feel? Imo it's a valuable lesson about life. You can always try to find a shortcut or easy way to get by. But you won't get any satisfaction from that.
Bad ending would be the worst possible outcome in a game with choices, non traditional game over would just be anything that doesn't require you to loose through standard means i.e time or death

If my memory serves me right, the Perplexus Rookie was not the first Perplexus ever made. It all started with the Perplexus Original, and as it became really successful, they made mode, including the Rookie one.
Yes that is correct for the most part. But it actually truly started with Superplexus in 2002 which is Original with electronics, then there was the a~! Mini in 2004 in Japan only with the first model being finished in 2000 in America but never released, then there was Epic in 2010 and Rookie in 2011, so Rookie was the fifth one as I said on my own comment here a couple days ago.
Almost 2 months ago i achieved a 19 second time in the mobile game Payback 2 in the Ready Or Not any% spec category by discovering a new glitch which is called the '£2million phone glitch'. After three weeks this wr got destroyed by a runner called Aiivan who set the current wr of 11 seconds.

I made a game for a digitech project that took like 5-10 minutes for most people's first playthroughs, but the speedruns evolved so much to the point where im pretty sure our record is a sub 10s by me involving wall clips lmao
Hiveswap can be beaten in ~6.5 seconds by selecting the first act, selecting the girl, and when she asks you to be her friend, tell her it's "fine i guess". It seems to only work on a NG+ It's like the We Happy Few thing.
No problem. I see that that was you who did the speedrun. I think it's more impressive, because manipulating something in the real world usually requires a lot more to consider.
I just say "thank" as a really basic and meme-ish way of thanking someone for saying something. But yes that is true, anyone's including my arm can usually get tired after about an hour of button mashing, but I do several different Perplexuses for up to a few hours a day and somehow the Perplexus is easier on me.
Hello! as the person with the Any% world record I would like to thank you! It's very hard cause you have to fall in a hole that's the exact same size as the actual ball, so falling in the gap in insanely hard, sometimes you bounce of the plastic igloo instead of falling in the hole, meaning you have two fall down two holes that are the balls exact size. Me and my friend friks speedrun this alot and I recommend stopping by stream for more world record attempts!
The one in the video is especially easy, but the other ones are definitely a lot harder like the Original I'm working on I'm guessing you had. I have branched out to a lot of the games in that series and am close to being the best of the best, but the second clip where Freya got the Any% record again was insane even for me. I still have not beaten that record or even duplicated that strat correctly once.

To keep views high id stick with content that we want to see. We dont want to see flash games or a map on Minecraft. I much prefer seeing spedruns in games most have played or has unique ways of speedrunning it.

Technically wouldn't losing the game also be an ending though? Winning would be more interesting but if you do the opposite and have the biggest field and the highest number of bombs it could be done in less than a second (assuming the first tile doesn't guarantee it's safe (and even then you could still probably get it under a second).
When trying to hit fullscreen I accidentally hit the end of the video instead. This skip saved me quite a bit of time, and I ended the run at roughly 4 seconds
I get that most of these are flash games and not 'actual' games. But they are still games and these are extremely fast, so I don't call clickbait... Even the ball puzzle is still a game...
These are speedruns in the same sense that watching the title and then the end credits of a movie is 'having seen it,' or crossing the start line, going backwards and then crossing it again to finish is 'having run the race.' This is not 'playing the game.'

These are the "quickest speedruns", not "most notable wrs". Most company's won't make a game be able to beat in minutes. What did you expect coming into this video?
When I thought of shortest, I immediately thought quick. "Short" doesn't really describe "Notable World Records", I assume this is where all the dislikes came from . . .

Imo it's a valuable lesson about life. You can always try to find a shortcut or easy way to get by. But you won't get any satisfaction from that.

silkavenger a bad ending is still the end of the game, a bad ending is typically used in point and click games
Bad ending would be the worst possible outcome in a game with choices, non traditional game over would just be anything that doesn't require you to loose through standard means i.e time or death
@@illford undertale has many bad endings that aren’t the worst possible outcomes, just saying. Only killing ASGORE and sparing everyone else is categorically and morally a bad ending, but is far from the worst.

If my memory serves me right, the Perplexus Rookie was not the first Perplexus ever made. It all started with the Perplexus Original, and as it became really successful, they made mode, including the Rookie one.
Yes that is correct for the most part. But it actually truly started with Superplexus in 2002 which is Original with electronics, then there was the a~! Mini in 2004 in Japan only with the first model being finished in 2000 in America but never released, then there was Epic in 2010 and Rookie in 2011, so Rookie was the fifth one as I said on my own comment here a couple days ago.

Almost 2 months ago i achieved a 19 second time in the mobile game Payback 2 in the Ready Or Not any% spec category by discovering a new glitch which is called the '£2million phone glitch'. After three weeks this wr got destroyed by a runner called Aiivan who set the current wr of 11 seconds.
This is like the "Frame Fatales" event. A bunch of games nobody plays, so you can say "oh I have the world record". Up next we have "Bubsy II and Ristar"...

I just say "thank" as a really basic and meme-ish way of thanking someone for saying something. But yes that is true, anyone's including my arm can usually get tired after about an hour of button mashing, but I do several different Perplexuses for up to a few hours a day and somehow the Perplexus is easier on me.
Hello! as the person with the Any% world record I would like to thank you! It's very hard cause you have to fall in a hole that's the exact same size as the actual ball, so falling in the gap in insanely hard, sometimes you bounce of the plastic igloo instead of falling in the hole, meaning you have two fall down two holes that are the balls exact size. Me and my friend friks speedrun this alot and I recommend stopping by stream for more world record attempts!
The one in the video is especially easy, but the other ones are definitely a lot harder like the Original I'm working on I'm guessing you had. I have branched out to a lot of the games in that series and am close to being the best of the best, but the second clip where Freya got the Any% record again was insane even for me. I still have not beaten that record or even duplicated that strat correctly once.

Technically wouldn't losing the game also be an ending though? Winning would be more interesting but if you do the opposite and have the biggest field and the highest number of bombs it could be done in less than a second (assuming the first tile doesn't guarantee it's safe (and even then you could still probably get it under a second).

When trying to hit fullscreen I accidentally hit the end of the video instead. This skip saved me quite a bit of time, and I ended the run at roughly 4 seconds

These are speedruns in the same sense that watching the title and then the end credits of a movie is 'having seen it,' or crossing the start line, going backwards and then crossing it again to finish is 'having run the race.'
This is not 'playing the game.'
I find it amazing that someone could spend hours making these games, and then another person beats it in seconds.
Most of these games are shitty anyways.
