Only person doing important tutorials. Great content. Thanks
Thank you mate for the cool feed back.
Hey Is that tape is aluminium tape?
Hi, yes it is 👍🏼
Any idea if I'm not getting any air blowing hot or cold, golf mk3 vr6 2.8 1997 when turning the temperature up and fan speed. Anything to do with the heater exchange and matrix? I had the matrix replaced about 3 years ago
No air sounds like the fan which is common these days.
@Resto Designs OK. Thanks for letting me know. Any particular types to recommend. My brother is a mechanic so he can fit
@@paintsilj Also sorry check it is getting power first and has earth, remove the motor and see if its spins freely
Any help with these classic motors is apprieciated
Thank you friend.
What are the holes in the flaps for? I'm thinking there most have been a purpose for them being there and only covered by a foam?
I'm guessing for air flow and to make the flaps easier to move when the fan is at full blast, as I have noticed the A/C is a lot colder and the hot a lot hotter when fully hot and a little bit more resistance on the controls with the fan at Nº4.
Great video mate, new subscriber here! I'm guessing this would need to be done on my car '96 MK3 Golf but not 100% sure, I do have little bits of foam coming through my vents every now & then, plus the hot & cold aren't very hot & cold more like lukewarm. I haven't really done much to my car so this kinda thing would be for a pro?
Thanks for your support friend, yes more than likely it'll be the foam, just check that you can hear the flaps moving when you turn from hot to cold.
@@RestoDesignsnando Okay will do, thanks mate! @project7 recommended your channel, love seeing mk3 content but there aren't many out there.
If I can hear the flaps moving what should//can I do about it as a beginner to working on my car?
@@TheWeirdVisionGuy ok cool, yes p7 is a cool channel, hopefully at some-point this year we may do a video together, as a beginner its a big job, you need to remove the dash and maybe(can't remember) the crash bar that sits in front of it as well. Don't do it by yourself, have a mate watch so you put everything back as it was and take note of the different types of screws and where they go.
@@RestoDesignsnando A collab with Project7 would be great to see!
Okay, thanks for the advice. Is there a way to fix it without taking the dash apart?
@@TheWeirdVisionGuy Lets see what 2021 brings, as for the dash, unfortunately not that I know of mate.
Can an mk3 heater core and evaporator core be placed in a mk2 box? Will the box need to be modified to fit?
Hi, I think they are too different from each other mk2 to mk3, and would need a lot of cutting and glue, but I guess anything so possible.
So my MK3 blows hot only even on cold setting so would this down to the flaps & cables? Also I'm guessing this is a dash out job? Thanks in advance 👍
When you turn from Hot to cold can you hear and fell the flap moving? If not then remove the centre pocket and check if the cable hasn't come loose, or that the arm hasn't broken off. If you do feel and hear it move then yes dash out I'm afraid.
Super video !!!
Thank you
Can the box be taken apart completely in two?
yes it can be, small clips hold the two half's together.
Todos os VW's dessa época sofrem do mesmo mal!
sim Todos, yes all mk2's mk3's have the same issue. which is the reason for the video.
