How to Install an Edelbrock Carb: The Basics. If you are wondering how to install an Edelbrock carburetor than this video is for you. To get the most out of your new Edelbrock AVS2 you need to ensure it is installed correctly. In this video I remove an old leaky Holley 450cfm carb and replace it with a brand new 650 cfm Edelbrock AVS2. In this first video it's all about the basics: where do the hoses go, how do you check your linkages, do you need a fuel pressure regulator, and more!

I just installed the same carb along with an AFR gauge, and found it to be running a bit rich. To lean it out, I swapped out the rods, plus went down on the main jets. Because it still runs slightly rich, I decided to check my fuel pressure. ...low and behold, it was at 9 psi. With the addition of a Holley pressure regulator, it's now dialed back to 5.5-6 psi. Back to the drawing board and start the tunning process all over again.

Yes you are heading down the correct path. So many people do not read edelbrock’s instructions and wind up chasing their tail.

That is ported and non ported. It's constant if it is below the throttle plates. And ported if the vacuum is being pulled above the throttle plates

I'm done buying Mr Gasket products. The timing cover bottom seal channel was so far off that the metal hit my oil pan and wouldn't allow it to seal. I also bought their recurve kit and with the light springs, the weights wouldn't go home, but stayed open slightly.

At the time this video was made some cheapo 2” Glass Packs. Check out some of my newer videos where I added a cam, heads, long tubes, etc. I recently did full exhaust (Patriot headers), 2.5” tubes, X pipe, and Flowmaster Super 44s

Did you install longer studs to account for the carb spacer? I am adding a 1406 to my 68 mustang with a spacer as well.

I sort of forget when I did this one. However, I believe I had some longer studs on hand that I may have used. You will know for sure if the studs are too short.
