Just to back her @itsJessicaBraun on Ritual…This vitamin is THE only vitamin that doesn’t make me sick at my stomach (and I have tried extremely expensive brands and even prescriptions. So, so many, too. I take the prenatal for extra iron on my docs recommendation based on blood work). I can actually *tell* when I have forgotten to take it (and suspect that my migraines are worse when I don’t have it. Maybe magnesium? Also: TMI Warning… my pee doesn’t get too yellow after these, like with others…so I’m likely not flushing my money down the drain-literally and figuratively). I taught, I have a tight budget…these are worth EVERY. SINGLE. PENNY. I cut my budget elsewhere to keep getting these (basically, two Door Dashes, for a single person, a month). I don’t back many companies or products, or talk them up, and am all for budgeting/ am anti-gigantic corporations, etc…I LOVE finding generics and dupes…this doesn’t have one… and I wouldn’t dare get a generic to replace it! (And btw Ritual…I’m not teaching anymore b/c 🤯😳…are you hiring?) Edit: my sister has a weak stomach as well, it was the only Prenatal Vitamin she could hold down during her first trimester. The oils-I think-mint and lemon-are similar to the ones my Great Grandmother (apparently) used in her “old school,” naturopathic Southern Appalachian “passed down” type “tinctures” that (also, apparently) often worked (in conjunction with modern medicine of course…b/c she wasn’t dumb).
I date all of my makeup products when I open it . This definitely helps with declutterring expired makeup.
It’s decluttering month in the beauty community and I’m here for it!

Would love to see a shop my stash grwm using products you want to get more use out of, I get tired of seeing only new releases and never seeing some older but good products again.
This is a perfect lecture on the topic "How to burn money in minutes". 2024 should be the year of "think before buying".
If you have any sensitivities or allergies, you should be marking every item of makeup and skincare that comes into your realm with the date you first opened it. Sticker dots and finepoint Sharpies. You'd be surprised how fast time goes by and how soon those expiration dates really are. Thank you for this reminder that it takes discipline!
For me just a normal person who is living a basic every day life. That is not normal but yes I have that many highlighters, probably more. I have over 20 foundations, blushes, bronzer's (cream and powder) primers, eyes shadow palettes. I think a makeup artist would be shocked with how much makeup I have. It's getting so ridiculous I'm getting upset at myself for my collection. I seriously have a problem and I definitely need to go through my makeup.
Isn't a lot of it expired? Foundations especially do not last long after opening (usually only around a year😢).
I went through just my blushes the other day and I had over 60. I only kept 17. Which is still too many. I don’t have twenty foundations but my highlighters have their own drawer, powders separated from the rest.
Cream and liquid stuff does expire but powder lasts way longer. It’s just to get you to buy more. My mom has literal 1980’s shadows that still perform perfectly and feel and smell the same as when she got them. All high end, though, if that matters…
So I don’t get rid of palettes like I do foundations and such. I have over 100 palettes and it’s just stupid!!! Why lol
@@justynawisniewska1213 oh I'm not doubting that some if not most of my foundations are expired but that's my problem, I wear foundation for a few months and then a "new" foundation comes on the market and I find every reason as to why I need to buy it. I talk myself in thinking I need to try every foundation and every makeup product on planet earth. I'm 💯 percent a makeup addict.
@@BareBohemianBeauty yup I have drawers for foundations, blushes bronzers and everything in between. Powders I never really get rid of. I buy so much makeup that I can't keep up on what is expired and what's not. I have an idea so if I pick up a cream or liquid I haven't worn in a long time I don't use it. All I know is I really need to go through my collection. I love Ulta because they keep a log of what you bought in the past year on line so I always refer back to that and if a makeup product is not on there I know it's been at least over a year that I have had that product and that makes it easier to decide weather I want to keep it or not.

I love a good declutter! My favorite highlighter is still Smashbox x Becca in champagne pop and rose quartz. Powder lasts longer on me so I’m sticking with it!

It saddens me how much plastic we are putting into landfill when we throw away makeup. Wish brands would come out with more sustainable packaging or recycling programs.

As someone who literally JUST walked out of Ulta again, I have to admit that I have drawer upon drawer filled with makeup I never wear or have forgotten I have. I just can’t bear to part with it! 😩 I’m going to strive to do better…..if only to make room for new arrivals! If you can do it, so can I!!! Perhaps that’s something I can do tomorrow after wrapping and baking cookies!!! You’ll never guess what I just bought my husband for Christmas! Mancala! It looked like such fun!!!!! Every time i do declutters especially blushes and foundations i give them to my friend, usually i don't keep things that don't work for me, so i try to give them immediately! I love declutter videos ❤
The essence highlighter is my FAVORITE EVER. It's not just glitter, it has a little bit of light colored powder pigment or something, so it's both shimmery and actually lightens the area you put it on. I just love the effect. It's been through hell atp, the lid broke off and I taped it back on with bandage tape but I've hit pan on it and until it's fully empty I'll be hanging onto it.
Everytime you post a declutter I look at my small collection. I swear I find random items from 2015-2017 each time 😅 Thank you for posting these videos. You've probably saved me from conjunctivitis a few times over.

So important to toss out old makeup even if it looks ok. I got a nasty case of contact dermatitis from an old eye shadow pallette that looked great but wasn’t 😮

I think it's ok if it's being used regularly, if you randomly find one somewhere after not using it for 1 year then maybe not lol... You don't know what's happened to it during that year 😅 I'm guilty of that myself because I think about my expired makeup in regular use and think the random finds should be ok too, now making a habit of tossing expired Makeup that I find without swatching them on my skin.
I got rid of a lot of blushes I don't like/use... only keeping my Givenchy, Nars pressed, Nudestix & Hourglass. ❤

The Maybelline fit me was the first loose powder I ever bought because I knew it was popular but since I used it up and replaced it with the Wet n Wild translucent loose powder, I think the fit me is so overrated. Wet n Wild is so much more finely milled and makes my skin look much smoother. Plus it’s like $5 compared to the fit me which I don’t remember how much it was when I got it, but I know it’s more than $5 and it was years ago so it’s probably gone up even more

I mark a date of purchase and/or mfg date on most everything! 2024 will be about using what I have and only restocking basics. I support channels that DON'T push constant buying, it's ridiculous 🙄

The merit cava balm and collab powder from Sally’s Beauty are my two favorites! I love putting the powder on my brow bone daily even with no eyeshadow. It’s beautiful and I have literally never heard anyone talk about it!

I’ve tried a couple other highlighters and always go back to my Laura Mercier!
I have the flower day glow or day glaze cream highlighter but even when I tap it on I feel it leaves spots where I tapped removing makeup beneath. Any tips to get it to work? Maybe use beneath my foundation?

I think expired makeup in regular rotation is fine, it's when we randomly find expired makeup that we haven't used in months or years that we should be weary. Don't know what's been happening to it whilst it's been on hiatus and it's best not to use your skin to find out lol (love how you didn't swatch those really old ones that you hadn't used lol). I'm guilty of formerly thinking that because regularly used expired makeup is fine, random finds in my house that have expired are also fine. Tossing them when i see them now.
I agree about 8th muse!! Love that colour so so much. I think kosas stopped selling those entirely tho 😢😢 here’s hoping their next release are some new blushes with similar colours to their old ones

My own makeup stash has items that are over 20 years old. Creams & liquids no, but pressed powders last much longer. I'm using eyeshadows that are 15-20 years old. BTW - they're fine!
I have a feeling that the recent crop of makeup with less effective preservatives because of fear mongering may not be as safe as the old stuff. I have a powder from my mum with parabens in it, not used but the video I can find on it in TH-cam is 5 years old, the brand doesn't do it anymore and is using a modern preservative for recent powders.
People have been finding their natural brand makeup products going off very quickly as well. My skin problems actually started around the same time as when I overhaul my care items for "natural" stuff that proudly display "_____ free" on the label.

Jessica...I have to ask....completely off the topic of highlighters...I purchased the Dr. Jart Ceramidin - does your foundation sit weird on top of it? I love how moisturizing it is .....and it looks great until I put my foundation on. My skin then looks like it's peeling off. I think it's actually he moisturizer rubbing off....Im so confused on what's happening??!!
I try to be realistic when I go through my makeup like do I really like it am I ever going to wear it so I have a more moderate amount of makeup I don’t feel lost when I go to put a look together 😊
I don't like foundation/bronzers/ highlighters, so I don't need to have them in my make-up bag. I am also not a beauty guru; I don't need drawers of make-up! I prefer a no make-up make-up look. This year is a no buy for me, 😂😂😂

Are my eyes getting worse or is 90% of the swatching out of frame? With highlighters its even not that important because you can see enough with the "glow" but it irritates my eyes.
