A year old video and still helping people. Thanks a lots girl……. I watched several videos and you’re the one the explained EVERYTHING I NEEDED TO UNDERSTAND. Thank goodness for you and for making it so simple to understand. Now I know I want and FFP.
I installed this optic on a crossman 760 air rifle.I have now shot the riffle around 500 times during target/plinking practice, and the th-cam.com/users/postUgkxc4K63Fd5LglDMObu7-Bgapxp_ef0W8hE scope has done well. With this optic, I have neutralized around 30 pigeons that were invading one of my buildings. For my short range air rifle, I will continue to use this scope, but will be upgrading to a more powerful scope, when I buy a more powerful air rifle, in order to shoot at longer distance. For the money I have spent, this scope has truly been a great buy.
Terrific explanation about both kind of scopes. I especially appreciate the explanation how to tell the difference between the scopes. I could see owning both the FFP and SFP depending on the application the gun is being used for.
@@targettamers In all honesty, I don't think you can have too many scopes but the main thing is all scopes should be zeroed at the same disatance for each firearm whether it's 33 yards, 50 yards, or 100 yards. If $hit hits the fan, I don't want to be worried about what firearm I have, whether to use the BDC's or not, what distance that particular firearm is zeroed, etc. I want target acquisition and ready to take out the target as fast as I can. Just sayin'.
I've HAD, Both and my FFL Scope's CrossHairs were, so FINE on LOW Power that, they just, DISAPPEARED and got So BIG on High Power that I could NOT shoot Good 200 Yard Group's ! So it's, SFP for my, Eyes ! I bought, 2 Vortex Vipers, Gen 1, SFP's at, EuroOptic's on Close Out for,.. $389.00 and, they ARE,.. SWEET !
Literally spend a day chasing my rounds trying to figure out my DOPE, turns out SFP’s BDC holds are only accurate at full magnification… I was trying out different powers and had no idea why my holds kept changing lol.
SFP with some simple math can use the reticle at other magnification ranges and a person that dials their distance holdovers either type the center poi is always right regardless of magnification.
FFP is the way to go!! SFP if you sight in your rifle on a particular power setting, you'll most likely have to make adjustments on the other power settings to keep it accurate.
Really nice video. I like SFP since high magnification and a relatively thin reticle is needed for accurate distance ranging. Yes, FFP can range distance to target and be used for favors and Bullet Drop Compensation too but at low or high power the FFP reticle will be too small to read or be too big to acquire the aiming point for major BDC needs or wind favors. All said, the best outcome might be with a fixed 10 power scope with mil reticle and MOA elevation/ windage adjustments and elevation dial marked for bullet drop compensation. A scope such as the Leupold M3 if you can still find one.
I want a second focal plane for long distance. A first focal plane Reticle gets extremely large and thick. So if you are shooting at a small target at distance you might cover the target and not evermn be able to see it
Absolutely solid video! Tĥe word quality gets thrown around a lot but this is the true definition of a quality video and quality information. Could have paid for that explanation and been completely satisfied
dont have anything with cal ... only what is your target if it is truck then u can use ffp if it is small target or head let say on 200+ then cross will cover it fully in ffp( or in short you will see black cross and not target ) and wont in sfp
my only intent when i practice is to dispatch bipedal mammals that are intent on taking advantage of a lack of gubment to try to harm my family. the FFP works best for that intent.

Great video! Nicely explained very clear instructions. All around great video! Keep putting them out there! 👍
Gottah love a woman that knows what she’s talking about good job explaining 🤙

Thanks for your feedback! Totally agree, can you ever have too many scopes? - Simon

Uncommonly well done. Excellent content and clarity of presentation. Thank you. BN
Much appreciated! Thanks for commenting!
@@targettamers true, except it was difficult to distinguish between "FFP" and "SFP", probably due to the microphone.
Clear and accurate. Many Thanks.
You're welcome!
Perfect explanation! Thank you!
Quick and to the point. Glad I know the difference now, thanks! Great video!

❤prefer my sfp for CQB ..thanks for the video

It may not be the way to go at all, and thus, why US Military still uses SFP.
@@charlesludwig9173 They actually use both.
@@meyerfire21 no they dont
Am I understanding correctly that a SFP scope zeroed at 100 yards on 3x will impact differently subsequently tried at 9x?
Great explanation 👍
Glad you think so! Thanks for the feedback. - Simon
I've made an Informed decision, just get a Nightforce SFP.
Absolute newby here. Thanks for explaining this!

i dont get it ,ffp for high mag and same time cross cover entire target from 10-7 ??
the only reason I have ever heard to not use FFP essential comes done to having a poorly designed reticle for FFP

most engagements would be up close not at distance
