  • You can measure fiber diameters in the nanometer range of SEM image using imageJ software.

Thank you so much about video.
I have questions about diameter measurement
    1. At least how many values we need to measure ?
    2. We measure 1 value with 1 nanofiber, aren't we ? (If the nanofiber doesn't uniform, example the top is 5 µm, the middle is 6 µm and the bottom is 6.5 µm)
I measure many locations in 1 fiber, (example top, middle, bottom). Is this right method ?
    3. If it is a blur nanofiber. Does we measure this blur nanofiber ?
I hope I would receive your answers soon. Thank you

Hello sir. Thanks for your comment and sorry for the late reply.
Answers are based on my personal work done in my reaserch work.
      1. It depends on SEM image. In my case I have considered 30 nanofibers ( may vary in other case) and average fiber diameter calculated by plotting histogram with standard deviation.
      2. Yes. Nanofibers vary in diameters along the length. So consider the SEM image where you will find the same diameter fibers along the length. Sometimes solvent remains in the fibers so you may find beeds in the fiber.
      3. You will get tentative result with imageJ for the about the Average diameter where you can explain effect of particular tratment on the diameter of fiber. If your interest is in surface area, i suggest to go for other characterizations

sir, how can we meaure the length of the above nanofibers ? Length is needed to calculate the aspect ratio.

Yes we can but SEM image is focused image. If fibers are continuous, then it is difficult to measure total length as we are considering very few area of total nanofiber mat. So it will not useful to calculate aspect ratio.
