Haven’t seen anyone saying this so I’ll say it: the fact Tim Vine managed to hit the thin center pole of the darts setup about five times is actually pretty impressive. That pole was thin, and it was in the dead center of what he was trying to hit
I like how Liza always has the same half-grin-half-smirk on her face no matter what. She always looks very jolly and incredibly dangerous at the same time.
The five panelists, no matter which season, can usually be identified as 1 - the insane one, 2 - the one who fails at everything, 3 - the one who takes the tasks very literally, 4 - the one who tries really hard but ends up solidly middle-of-the-road; and the one who doesn't fit any of those boxes usually wins the series.

Two episodes into the series and I love all of these people already. I didn't predict that Liza would be the secretly insane one (I would have predicted Alice), but I'm here for it.
I think in the darts challenge, it would have been better if they had swapped the order of Alice and Russell. You splice Tim ("Let me tell you a little about darts") with Alice ("Does the hat bit count?"), and then let Russell look really cool all on his own with his stylish throwing technique before revealing that he scored all of 3.
I think the energy was more different, Tim manic talking v Russell manic throwing, Tim eventually getting a good score v Russell basically just hitting the board. Alice energy was more subdue. But your edit ideas are good, would have worked perfectly as well.
I will give the editing props for finding great ways to show Russell's darts hitting the board, making it look like he's crushing it, while making it very difficult to realize everything is hitting the rim.
That bit, along with Assim's insane underground journey with pyrotechnics, opened my eyes to the fact that the time limits in Taskmaster can sometimes be utter bollocks. There's no way Alice and Ross had the time to prepare a dry martini and find two hairblowers + electric line extensions in the minute they had left, AND there's no way Assim's whole set-up was prepared in 30 minutes.
42:22 The look on Alex' face when Greg said "Drink it" had me spit out the food I was eating and I couldn't stop laughing for close to 10 minutes. Lesson learned; never eat or drink while watching Taskmaster; there's too many unexpected surprises.
Viviana OwO I thought we were talking about why a 6’2” man looks tiny next to a 6’8” man. The props department gave Greg a chair which has a higher seat and a tall, wide, rectangular back, while Alex is sitting lower and doesn’t have nearly as imposing a silhouette behind him, to exaggerate the contrast between them. And they’re sitting, next to each other on the other side of the stage from the other people who could serve as additional reference points. The actual difference in height doesn’t matter as much as stage presence and perspective.
Prize task, Episode 1, Alice: “I’ve brought in my own blood.” Episode 2, Alice: “I’ve brought in my own hair.” If I haven’t seen the next episode I’d guess she brought in her nail clippings.
Given the instruction "In a German accent, could you tell me the best way to mount a trampoline?", if Tim Vine had managed to work the word "VEGETABLES!" into his answer, it would have absolutely made my year.
I thought the same, but unfortunately it's just a matter of angles. It's the same 8 darts in both, I slowed down and checked, it's just much more visible from the side view.
Also it IS possible to throw a dart and knock other ones out of the board. Trust me. It's disheartening to be in the lead and toss that last one and knock your previous score to the floor.
Tim definitely should have gotten 0 points. He didn't complete the task. "Take a picture of a group of people each holding an egg. Most people holding eggs in a picture wins. You must be in your picture." Even if you are going to bend the meaning of the phrase "group of people" and allow this, the butcher is in the picture and he is not holding an egg.
Every season I think the old dude can't get an funnier than the one before him but Tim in his safari suit was hilarious. He looks like he belonged in Jumanji
The editing on Russell's darts attempt was incredible. It really looked like he was absolutely crushing it with the angled shots they chose to use of him hitting the board, and the one which shows where the darts actually landed was only shown for the briefest of moments, and at that top-down angle where at a glance it still looks impressive since it's harder to tell they're all in the black rim.
