Never have figured out the ad payout but seems watching them all the way through does not seem to add to my income. It is all about the first few seconds.
Haha, that view out of your window is better than anything that is on the television. I love the life your living. A slice of heaven right here on the natural beauty of this blessed Earth. Stay blessed my friend...
I'm planning to build a small log cabin my self so i'm looking at a lot of log cabins designs. I'm only 20 years old, so its a long time for the day i will build my cabin. Thanks for the response, and have a great day //Chris from North of Sweden.
No need for TV with a view like that! Amazing how different the landscape and outbuilding look when covered in a blanket of white! -- An Armchair Adventurer
My brother has had his liver transplant and even mowed part of his yard last week. I will be back in canoe country first and then really looking forward to a long stay at the cabin. Thanks everyone for your concern.
Those Gray Jays must be very happy to see you arrive. What a great place you've set up for yourself. Maybe you could show that "cooler in the ground" on a future video. Sounds like an interesting idea. You must have "critter proofed" it in some way.
Good to see your grey jays are back. We don't have grey jays at our cabin in northern Michigan. But my wife and I feed our black caps by hand and enjoy them . And your videos ..thanks
I have heard the Black-capped Chickadees will eat out of our hands but have never spent the time at my IL feeder to make it happen. Thanks for watching.
Beautiful view! I'd love to build something like this eventually, I'm assuming you need permits to build something like this, even if it doesn't have power?
In the cabin we're restoring in Wyoming, which will be year 'round use, I want to create some sort of deep ground storage for root vegetables (and maybe a few bottles of wine) without having to create a full basement. Looking for ideas. I like your cooler in the ground. Much drier in the Wind River Valley so it wouldn't be a problem with ground water seeping in, but would need a somewhat bigger space.
Root cellars were very common at some of the old homesteads. It looks like they were dug and a wooden roof put on and then dirt piled back on with the rest of the insulation from snow. It is wet here so most were dug into a rise so the door could be lower and water could be drained out.
at 1:14'ish I notice something running (right to left) in the open area back in the woods about the same time when he said he looks out the window lookin' for deer runnin' about!
Hey Martin....so far love your vids......was wondering if you know of Joe Jensen....he has 2 channels on here.....one is called JoeandZachSurvival.......and NorhernSeclusion....I think
Very, very nice! Love every second of the video! I would love to see more. You remind me of dick proenneke. I'm sure you are familiar. I am actually on the hunt for some affordable timberland in Vermont or Maine in order to build my own cabin. My hat is off to you sir....
Thank you Martin, I thought only Cedar would last in the ground. I have a Cedar fence that has been installed for 10 years. Some of those posts that are in the ground have rotted off.
+frizzlefrap In the summer yes but very scarce out in the northern forest in winter. If there is one around it watches to see where the Gray Jays are hiding the morsels.
+TheNorthwoodsman1 .... i've never seen a pine siskin or a gray jay or a spruce grouse .... have seen an evening grosbeak when it was really cold ..... (live on shores of lake erie in central ohio)
Most of my wool pants are old military surplus, many so old they have button flys. Some video footage get edited out because I am not buttoned up properly.
Hi Martin. This video is from 13 years ago. Wow 😮 enjoyed watching it. Loved seeing the gray jays eat from your hands. Thanks
Must be on our fourth generation of those Canada Jays now.
Love watching your old videos. I have a rocker like that with green pads. Hope letting the ads play will still help on these old videos. Nov 2023

I love the sound the crunching snow makes underfoot....

You give me a whole new meaning of living. I think I could handle this type of life. :)

Reminds me of my cabin that I had for 30 years and recently lost. Enjoy! My friend,I sure did.
So sorry about the loss. Hope these videos can help you out.

That's a beautiful spot!
Inside dimensions are 16 feet by 13 feet. A very nice size for what I use it for.
I love your videos so much!
Glad you like them!
Missing your videos but respecting your commitment to your brother, God Bless

Who needs tv with them views
Nice cabind you have, How big is the cabin?

Wide screen TV
your cabin is priceless
Hi Martin, I have a question on your wood shed. How do the upright posts attach to the ground? Are they in the ground or sitting on concrete?
They are Tamarack and are 4 feet in the ground. Tamarack are often used for pilings because they will last a long time.
Thank you Martin, I thought only Cedar would last in the ground. I have a Cedar fence that has been installed for 10 years. Some of those posts that are in the ground have rotted off.
Where did the time go Martin?
have you found anything from the fur traders?
If you mean any really old relics the answer is no. Old census forms show a few trappers around 1900 but nothing else.
no blue jays?
+frizzlefrap In the summer yes but very scarce out in the northern forest in winter. If there is one around it watches to see where the Gray Jays are hiding the morsels.

@@TheNorthwoodsman1 yes, because blue jays are notorious for hiding extra food too!
I know I might never get an answer but what style of pants are those? What are they called?
Most of my wool pants are old military surplus, many so old they have button flys. Some video footage get edited out because I am not buttoned up properly.
@@TheNorthwoodsman1 Thank you for the reply. I love your videos and I am inspired by all your hard work put into the cabin. Thanks again
What's the bear situation?
I still visit the cabin and fortunately the bears have not been a problem in years.
Do you ever have problems with vandals messing with your place when you are not there?
hahahaha soooo Cool
