Refunds are actually pretty solid on Ali, I've had multiple things that were not as advertised, and I got a full refund and got to keep the products.
agreed, if the seller causes any trouble, Aliexpress will step in and sort it out for you.
Very true!
That’s why it’s cheap shit they ain’t gonna give a shit bout sending stuff back
Yep. Its 100% money back garuantee lives up to its claim.
@@wrth very true
I am so confused at the "Wish and Temu have a little bit more variety" claim. In my experience in most cases those two don't even have 1/100th of the option which Aliexpress does.
Even beyond that, nearly anything you can find on those 2 is on Ali and there is a high chance they are from ali baba as well
Agreed!
Crazy
That goes to show that this this channel is more about novelty and whacky things rather than useful things. I've used AliExpress for so many years now to buy replacement parts for consoles and phones. Its 1000% more useful than Temu or Wish.
Yeah honestly Aliexpress is the biggest Chinese online marketplace. They are surely one of the first as well.
TBH Aliexpress has been awesome to me, only issues I've had have been with Shipping and that's usually a logistics issue with their shipping partner in China. By far the best place to direct order electronic components for drones and other purpose-built electronics.
Oh, that really depends on what you buy... ALOT of electronics I would never buy from ali or wish..
@Oystein87 full on electronics sure, but components to build electronics I've never had issues
@@forsakenparallel I am talking about components
@@Oystein87you'd be surprised. Got a ps vita screen for over 20 euros. Very nice screen! And it has lasted since 2017 or 2018. But yeah, it depends on the items. Nit everything is great in AliExpress. Also it seems like Austin just gets items instead of seeing if the reviews were bad for the item. I always check for items with more reviews and also the ratio between good and bad reviews as well as read the bad reviews too. Because of that, I've rarely had issues
The "Choice" yellow mark means it's a heavily discounted item that have been selling like hot cakes on AE for some time, I bought tablets that are usually 160-170 USD at just 80 (genuine Lenovo Tab 2022), they also have some very nice mini PCs at great prices.
AliExpress and Genuine don't combine.
@@Gabriel-jf2oqthey are honestly pretty good in terms of refund/return policies, so it doesn't matter.
Was it actually genuine or just a good copy? Seems like everytime I tried to get something "genuine" on ali or wish it ends up beeing fake. Can get some decent stuff but never got anything that's truly genuine even if it's marked as beeing genuine🤷♂️ Always ended up getting a refund
@@Gabriel-jf2oq Kinda depends. Something like a decent retro handheld will be genuine.
My bot spidey sense is tingling…..
The SF2000 requires the supplied microSD card to be in the machine to turn it on. And for 20 bucks its a great entry into handheld emulation!
I hope Austin see this comment and give this handheld another chance I’m curious about it
Yes, thats exactly what happens if it cant detect the micro SD. The screen remains black with the power light on.
Yeah, that's what I suspected. If it runs a Linux distro and not it's own thing, without the SD Card it wouldn't show anything on the screen.
I also came to say, I've had emulating handhelds that you also have to hit the start button or possibly a combo of start and another button to turn it on after the power is enabled.
I thought the same when I got mine. The stupid thing is broken... until I saw the microsd card that wasn't noted anywhere in the instructions, put it in and.. magic. Even if there isn't an update, I hope they found it and got to see what a great toy it is for a mere $15.
Aliexpress has very good customer support! If you have issues or something doesn’t work it isn’t hard to get a replacement or money back.
Not my experience at all - a product broke after 3 months of usage and Aliexpress was anything but helpful.
I disagree, I've bought headphones that failed on one side and they said my proof video wasn't good enough with no option to dispute
I smell a bot
Their customer service sucks bad
I've had sellers that were great to deal with others that were ass.
ken singing the puff song with the jiggly mask is what's gonna keep me up this week.
AliExpress is actually pretty good! I was able to source a custom water cooling, copper plate to mod my Surface Duo to be water cooled. I wasn't able to get that sort of part anywhere else. :/
Bro why though? 😅
@@VinnytotheK I use it to play both of my Pokémon Go accounts at the same time so it got hot really fast. At least it looks like a beefy Pokédex now though! 😅
@@TimidSylveon Okay that's pretty sick lmao
@@TimidSylveon i wanna see how that looks like 😂, pls make a video
Haha! That’s funny, you could just buy the fans now and throw a couple on the hot spots
There's ton of actually decent quality items for decent price, if you take even a second to look at what you are buying.
The refund process is very good. Usually no questions asked and you get your money back, without having to send the product back.
I ordered a GPU off AliExpress and they pre-emptively detected the seller was trying to pull a fast one and instantly refunded me. By comparison, when an SSD I ordered off Amazon got lost in transit, I had to wait 24 hours before I could even report it lost and the refund took an entire week to process. Make of that what you will.
I'm so used to Amazon having ultra fast delivery though, even non-Prime items arrive in less than 1 week most of the time. AliExpress is cool but I don't have the patience to wait an entire month to get some cheap electronics. AliExpress has "fast shipping" but it takes like 2 weeks and is only on a very tiny amount of stuff.
I had a similar experience when buying from them. They seem a bit shady because there's a bit of "too good to be true" going on, but in my experience they're actually super reliable
Amazon is trash, people are brainwashed
Jigglypuff will not only lull you to sleep, it will haunt your dreams as well.
Reminds me of metal gear online…especially playing ps2 online back in the day…
That camera quality on the S3 is insane
Facts for a 2012 device it takes better pictures than most midrange devices
The sf2000 needed the sd card put in it for it to work. Everything is loaded on that card including the firmware
Those Pokémon masks will haunt my dreams 😂
Instead of repairing a junk console, try building one from scratch with the parts you can buy.
I have a hard time not spending hundreds of dollars on Aliexpress every month. Lol
Expensive chinese fishing rods, with them you can wack a friend and they dont break :D
I’ll never forget Austin doing a blind hearing test for a range of headphones and ended up choosing the worst pair as his “best pair”. Classic.
3:48 That means the device is likely rooted, and I bet they've installed some malware onto that phone. I wouldn't trust it until flashing back the stock firmware from Samsung, or something more modern but from trusted sources (like Lineage OS or something like that).
no it most likely doesnt have malware on it all it has is a custom rom and recovery on it so he needs to use odin to update the modem and bootloader to kitkat base and then he can flash lineage os 14.1 along with gapps and magisk if he chooses too but most likely it just has a custom rom but thats a normal warning message when your phone has been modified but it doesnt mean it has malware
@@jontranchida8179 Yup, I know that the message just means that it's rooted. I've rooted phones in the past and I've seen that. However, when you consider that this device was purchased from a seller we know nothing about, and the seller didn't disclose that it's rooted, you shouldn't trust it.
Same goes for computers. When I buy a laptop or desktop PC, unless I bought it brand new from a reputable store and the PC is from a reputable brand, I assume it has malware on it and do a fresh install of Windows.
In both cases, the device might be just fine and malware free, but you can't risk it with this stuff.
@@jontranchida8179 Was that phone even a legit one or a fake?
That’s not a Jigglypuff that’s a clefairy. It’s the checks and ears that’s a huge give away.
I bet us retro gamers would love that laptop
I think it would be neat to see if you can't build an entire console from AliExpress.
Definitely possible, I buy a lot of parts there tbh probably could have built a good few with how much I order haha
I actually have one SF2000 and it works great!
That behaviour seams to be a missing/faulty microSD card.
Ken singing as Jigglypuff is becoming a meme now
Kenlypuff is the thing that therapists tell you to not worry about
Its a good day when Austin uploads 🔥
ye
you already know it!
At 3:30 that shirt you’re wearing is a shirt you can buy from a TH-camr called Urban Ranch Rescue from his own merch store. But that Capybara definitely ate your son Austin!
Ken singing in that mask will be in my nightmares.
I always love this type of video from him
Where was the scam ?
Aliexpress sometimes have more parts variety than eBay, or they’re cheaper. There’s also a lot of laptop vinyl skins that are good enough.
Fun fact. Of all the channels on TH-cam. Watching you buy Ali express and temu items while hoping for the best... Gives me life. Thank you for all you do. ❤❤
one time my dad was on aliexpress he saw 2 jet-skis for only $200 💀
Make sure you include the shipping cost as part of the price. It very much is part of how they price the items
Aliexpress has gotten a lot better these days. Ordered a few things from them, if item isn’t as advertised the seller will rectify it or you get a refund.
Austin videos are the AliExpress of tech reviews
Honestly, for 550 you got a childhood memory in a sorta kinda holdable clearly 3d printed and totally custom hand built package.. that thing is pretty cool man, I loved my GC when I was younger (I've been around since atari 2600) I wish we kept our old Nintendo system and all those things.. man we yard saled them not thinking. They all were dead anyway though, but man it would be neat to have all the game systems I grew up with still.. I think the first one I bought personally with my own money was the N64. Yeah 007 baby!!
If you look for other people selling those modders typically sell them for 2 to 3 times the price he paid
I wish Austin had looked inside the portable GC because I like the idea, but I don't know where the $550 is going. If there's no board fab (besides maybe gamepad interfaces?) is it just the Wii board and screen screwed into the case and the controller parts fitted in along with a battery?
@@AerinRavage you can Google Ashida's Wii Portable to see how to build one of these. It's a rough project (I've done it, it is a genuinely fantastic semi-portable emulation machine but jesus it took forever) You have to mod the Wii main board (in a way that of you make a small error you will completely brick it), you need batteries, a custom sound board and speaker, a modified GameCube controller board split between the two sides, a screen, a custom shell (Ashida's is only a 5 inch screen so this one is larger) and a couple other things.
@@AerinRavage i would assume its more labor costs than gimmicks or features
i mean if you wanted to play those so bad you could just buy an actual wii with a controller and mod it for like half the price or way less even
Austin never fails to entertain us❤
@@Elatenl Mate Im not a bot
i actually got refund from aliexpress because the thing doesn’t work as advertised (iphone main board) without actually shipping back the item. the seller just slow responded me and eventually gave up and just gave back my money without demanded their board back.
most aliexpress sellers are big inlt supplier so they actually didn’t care that much for some bucks refund, most of them will eventually gave up after several days and just give you back your money without demanding their item back.
Bruh Austin make more vid like this or broke vs pro since people watch u get scamed and getting good deal
Always found wish items didn't turn up ablut 30% of the time, aliexpress seemed to be the beat place for cables, random texh and Christmas stocking fillers for cheap
Another day another scam. Scammers truly love Austin Evans, and so do we! 😂
Why is bro glazing so hard
Love the vibe…and not spending my own money. Subbed! ;)
I'd like to see videos where you break down those niche items and see how they are built
I got scammed too
Same
Actually getting a refund on AliExpress is quite easy tho 😅
@@JonLake Yeah, the problem starts when the seller contacts you and tells you "the order's on the way so they cannot cancel the order even though its pass deadline... And when you decide to open a dispute again, the 15 days dispute is over and" sorry you cannot request returns for this order"
For the most part I received my orders. Most sellers are genuine. 10/10. But there are some who knows the policy too well and plays you. Thanks now I know about that and seller won't be able to scam me again though.
@@ltu_aheadwhynot3471if you ever get scam again, do think about opening a dispute BEFORE it expires or you won't have your money back.
If you do open a dispute, it's like 70% chance they refund you with no problem and 25% chance they try to play around the regulations in order to make you lose the time limit for opening dispute... Another 5% is like they won't even respond at the complaint and then AliExpress comes in and forces them to refund you 🥂
Some people may say don't buy there again if we got scammed but you need to understand that for the price compared to ebay and amazon we are willing to buy again. I personally buy only with big and high rated sellers now and if there is a problem... Well they try to help you and worst case they refund with some day delays...
@@sevine4667 paying with your credit card on PayPal gives you so much layer of protection, 15 days AliExpress, 30 days PayPal and most credit card offers 90days protection. It's sad that some people still get scammed in 2023 😶🌫️
I have a problem throwing away old electronics so I still have my white Galaxy S3. 2 years ago I was using it just for a light switch for my smart lights🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
Those Pokémon hats are absolutely hilarious 😂😂
The cool thing is that sometimes if you claim (and proof) that a product is broken they'll give you a refund and won't ask to get the product back, so you have the chance to repair it by yourself
Hey Austin, You know that copyright keeps pushing forward every year. There's nothing wrong with a 2012 phone with a 2015 copyright. That just means they still have the copyright in 2015. Same thing how pokemon cards are done. Like you remember the first gen where they have copyright 95, 97, &98 on the bottom?
Austin should make a video where he buys all the parts he needs to build a handheld console like a DS from scratch.
It’d be pretty fun to see you try to build a whole new switch with only Ali express parts. Probably pretty hard.
My friend is currently trimming and soldering together a portable wii! It's an expensive but really cool project, I'm excited to get to try it once he's done!
Man gets scammed everywhere he shops
Oh no Austin is about to rob a bank with Ken and Kenzie hahahahahaha
We NEED that AliExp refurbish video!
The galaxy S3 was my first smartphone. I absolutely loved it.
KEN, hats off to you sir! That was some might fine Jigglypuff! Salute!
Austin be getting scammed everyday fr fr
I have a pair of Lenovo earbuds I got for less than $20CDN, so call it about $10USD....And I absolutely love them. Smart pairing and active noise cancellation. I've never heard anything bad about Lenovo buds.
08:36 Austin's dad reflexes kicking in.
Ken going full jigglypuff was incredible
Therapist: Jigglypuff Ken isn't real, he can't hurt you.
Jigglypuff Ken.
"PeppaPuff" was my favorite part!
the making something that was a console portable scene is awesome
I got HDMI adapter from AliExpress for my Xbox and Gamecube like today and the service was quick and everything came fine. I’ve also order many other useful things from there in the past and they all were good. Also that Jiggly Puff voice was just crazy 😂
Lmaooo bro went full on dweeb with the jiggly song love it hahaha
Those Dam masks...
Ken has just traumatised us all.
It would be interesting to see if you and the others could handle upgrading/repairing worn on electronics with replacement parts off of ALiExpress.
I'd love to see you try to fix broken gameboy and stuff with Ali express parts.
more jigglypuff voices please hahahah
those pokemon hats are very nightmare fuel 😅😂
“Remember when phones were this small?!”
*me on my iPhone 12 mini*: I’ll take every inch I can get
Those Pokemon sheistys were WILD 💀
Ken singing as Jigglypuff is the stuff of nightmares 😂
Who is the girl near Ken?
Scam content = best content!
Hey Austin was great meeting you and Ken today in Indianapolis.
The Jigglypuff mask looks like the Winnie the Pooh horror film.. 😅😅
8:37 shows us the difference between Austine and Linus , i love them both
When the delivery fees cost more than the actual product: 🗿
12:30 the time stamp says don’t fall asleep😂
Actually,i and a lot of people would LOVE to see it!!!
Temu and Wish have more variety? What are smoking Austin 😂😂😂
I wanna see Austin make a video about some custom made products on etsy
Great Kent will give me nightmares now, thx Austin
Should do a video of you guys opening that GameCube thing, we need to see what the internals look like and if it's likely to cause a fire or something at some point. It looks getto, i would trust charging that thing in my house.
Scammed every other video at this point lol
The sf2000❤️ ive modded mine a bit. Cant wait for custom firmware, the progress so far look promising. 👍
i love these!!
AliExpress most of the time will just want proof it’s broken like a picture or video but they usually just send you the money back depending the seller and don’t ask for the broken product back
Austin: goes to the website that started the entire concept
Austin: “This looks very Teemu and Wishy”
glad you are spending wisely
I think the SF 2000 needs a SD card to load up with.
I was just going to comment the same I bet it's trying to load it's OS off of an SD card that's missing or corrupted
Getting Scammed for your audience again and again
You have my respects
I would love to see you send that s3 off for a thorough inspection. Hook it to a wifi netwrok and glass wire it to inspect netwrok traffic. Id bet some money it calls home in some way.
Id even try and flash a factory image just to see if it would take it. If it didn't then there might be hardware differences.
Hay Austin is that a challenge to watch every video you have put out?
I got that exact ps4 controller (just a different color) from Temu and granted I haven't really used it too much yet but still i gotta say, didn't feel any input delay and the controller felt pretty solid. Probably wouldn't use it as a main controller but you want a spare for a guest or is your main controller dead and still want to continue playing? This controller got you for that
13:14 ain’t nobody falling asleep with that
The mini laptop brought back memories. Oh man, I had a tiny acer one way back in high school
That SF2000 requires you to use the cord that came it with. It's basically a USB-A to USB-A cord but with a USB-C end, that's why you can't use a normal usb-c cord with it. Awful with SNES & GBA games but great with Genesis, GB & GBC and NES
You should update the vid with an explanation of Ali’s good customer return experiences.
gotta do an aliexpress video all for the nintendo switch
