The biggest thing I appreciate the most about these type of survival videos, is the amount of extra effort you put in to set up a camera to make it look like you’re walking off, when in reality you had to pick a spot, set it up, walk your path, THEN come back and pack everything back up. Obviously I appreciate all the knowledge you show, but everything just shows how much effort you put into making a great video for us

Say that to all the animals and insects that poop every day in the forest. Are they polluting the environment? Of course not! Why are humans any different? Why this assumption that only humans pollute? We do, but only with specific things like plastics, heavy metals, toxic chemicals, and litter. Otherwise, our natural function like going to the bathroom is not polluting the environment unless you dump billions of gallons into rivers and lakes (of which some developing countries in the world do this very thing).
We have the same waste our bodies need to get rid of as any other animal on this planet. It only becomes a problem when it is done in excess. Xander using his turd cutter a couple times in the woods is NOT going to pollute anything. In fact, taking a bag or some type of portable latrine means he would have to bring it back and throw away, and it will most likely be in a plastic bag. This will just end up in a landfill. Xander doing the deed in the woods adds nothing to his "carbon footprint" or pollution since it was done with natural materials like moss and a 6-12 inch hole. It is perfect compost!
I don't understand what you're trying to imply with this comment.

because i dont eat animals, i did not enjoy this video.
i used to go fishing when i was younger with my grandd, but ive never eaten fish myself.
teh guy is making all these comments about sorry frog sorry fish, thank god for a lovely planet.
the reasion fish smells so gross, and its difficult to catch, is because humans arent developed to eat fish.
if there is a "god" he did not design human to eat fish, or it woudl be healthy to eat. eating animals is a corruption of life.
a human body is a standard issue plant eater design - not developed for eating animals at all.
      eating fish promotes health disorders,
fish is generally LESS unhealthy than both red and white meat, but its still toxic.
in a survival situatibn, the guy is eating a fish to get by - but we shoudl be clear that eating fish, and harming animals are both toxic behaviors.
" circle of life " should not involve eating toxic foods, but healthy + ethical energy.

Man stumbling onto an old cabin is so cool, you see a glimpse into the life of some other outdoorsperson who sought the same natural tranquility that you do, but like a century in the past. I'm not sure if it's sad or awesome that we don't know anything about that person, and that all that stands in their remembrance is a few rotten logs stacked up in a corner together.

This takes me back many years to when I was a teen. My best friend and I took extended "survival trips", sometimes as long as a week. They were treks where we set out in the woods nowhere near trails. Distance didn't matter.... we continued on but foraging was our main occupation. We never relied on fish, but they were targets of opportunity at times (fish traps work). Electronics simply did not exist.... except for computers that took up multiple floors at the university.... and whatever they used on Apollo. GPS, satellite communication, cellular.... were not even thought of back then.... Who would have dreamed that we would have a thing called internet..... or digital photography.... tape recorders were big and bulky and expensive, as were cameras. The one "cheat" we resorted to was the Svea 123 stove. Not because we were not quite skilled at starting fires, but because we believed in leaving NO SIGN of our having been there. Already even back then, the popular places were littered with fire rings. "take only pictures, leave only footprints". We navigated with map and compass...... Not topo... we couldn't afford that. I owned every survival manual and book I could lay my hands on...... military survival manuals were easily found in the Army Navy stores..... there was no way to find books that you couldn't find locally...no internet or Amazon. I read every book Euell Gibbons wrote... that I could find. Burton Spiller's book Northland Castaways (CR 1957) was I think what inspired our first survival foray. Many of the areas we went into had nowhere near the abundance and ease of gathering seen here.... and we even ventured into "high desert" survival.... though you have to follow water courses, and due to relative scarcity of wild edible plants killing warm blooded game often became the challenge..... but rattlesnakes also make good food!
The animals you eat, or use for bait are prey animals.... They exist to be a meal for something else. There is no "happily ever after" Disney existence for them.... They are part of the food chain...... and know it. Predators kill to live, and kill without remorse..... We humans have the luxury of delegating killing to others. Predators often kill with shocking "cruelty", and absolutely no sensitivity to the feelings and pain of the prey. Watch a pack of wolves or coyotes kill. I was once a hunter, but found no joy in watching the light go out of something's eyes..... I can and do kill things as needed..... but it is a necessity, not a "sport" for me..... as a rural person.
With all the "wonderful" technology we have available like the Inreach, and cell phones, I still backpack solo into remote parts of the Rockies, often telling nobody that I'm going anywhere at all, and have never considered carrying "technology" into the wilderness.... It simply does not belong as far as I'm concerned. You make sure you do not get hurt.... many decisions you make solo have survival as a significant consideration knowing nobody is coming to look for you..... there is no carelessness because there is no rescue...... it adds a spice that would be lacking if you could simply push a button.
