Hi, nice work. I'm currently building a variation of the cabinet with different dimensions from the original. I've been searching for a scan for quite a while now. Do you happen to have a scan of the decals? It would be a tremendous help if you could assist me. Kind regards from Germany.
I don't have a scan, the best I could do would be to take a picture and have you square up the corners in photoshop. I bought mine from www.mk-arcade-restore.com/product-page/star-wars-cockpit-side-art. You could buy it from them or ask for the scan.
Hi, there is a company out of Missouri that remade them and they look great. I will make a video about it ELDORADO GAMES, LTD. 115 W. DALLAS ST. MOUNT VERNON, MO 65712 (417) 471-1005 Fax (417) 471-1006 sales@eldoradogames.com
Curious how Roadblasters played. The Roadblaster controls look similar to Star Wars but are expecting a spinner, not a yoke. Can you show a video on that?
A customer has this game but I'll be going over there to deliver a different model. I'll check out the settings I tweaked in MAME or the next time I make one of these.
I usually start off with the plans at classicarcadecabinets.com. They are very accurate as far as the outside dimensions go. I verify them off of an existing cabinet and get some of the dimensions that were not listed. In the case of this machine I had to make a lot of modifications to their plans to make it work. I sell this cabinet as a kit that will bolt together with brackets, it can ship flat and eliminates a lot of the guesswork and assembly time.
I can sell another but have not advertised them because it was a pretty custom job. I do intend to sell these as a kit but am working through a couple of design elements. For instance the plastic bezel was from an original machine. I have a 3D scan of this item that I want to turn into a reproduction part but have been focusing on keep up on orders for my other machines and need more time to work on this project. Also I purchased the plexiglass as a reproduction and that company usually has a very long lead time, in the order of months. I may have sourced another supplier and need to follow that lead before I can make a proper do it yourself kit that will work for the general masses. If you are interested in this machine without the bezel or want to buy just a wood kit, send me an email at contact@bossrobotgames.com.
I got mine from here. alan-1.com/product/alan-1-star-wars-flight-yoke/ The manufacturers website said it works with raspberry pi but I couldn't get it to work. I got it to work with a PC by creating a MAME.ini file and finding a setting "Mouse" to 1. This thing should appear as a mouse on your PC anyhow but you need to change that .ini file for MAME to notice it.
@@willrussell01 The Alan1 yoke is a quality product and I can see why it costs so much to make one from scratch. If maximum cost savings are your goal then this may be your best bet. arcadecontrols.com/hosted/yoke/
Can't wait to order from ya. $1350 sounds very fair for the kit
Yeah I'm game, the monitor bezel is a must though.
