Big Rock 3S V3 - Small Problem

  • I decided to take out the Arrma Big Rock V3 3S to the dirt jumps. Earlier in the day, I had the rear driver's wheel off, trying to see if I could fit an Axial SCT Gravedigger wheels and tires, but the diameter of the wheel didn't quite fit around the A-arms of the truck. I tightened the nut, but didn't thread lock it back on, so when I got home, that is what I did.

    Ive only seen arrmas in videos lose the wheels! hahaha... for me, its never happened. But I also address the problems within a few battery packs. So the typhon and mojave wheels like to fly off because the hex sits too close to the hub, and it will start to back the wheel nut off because the tire also hits the hub on the inside. you can help with the m2c +2mm thread hexes. I also think a small offset on the hexes would work as well, like the hotracing ones or GPM, instead of an expensive M2C part. and for the 3s lineup, you can always go to the typhon hexes or traxxas 17mm ones. 5353x for the traxxas. I like the traxxas ones with their threadlock. Overall, the Bigrock is quickly becoming my favorite car of all time, over my Maxx... and I thought that was impossible. I love that spot too, keep up the awesome content man!

    Best upgrade I did was metal gpm cvd and dura hatchet belted tires

    • @rcleesd

      How was the tire upgrade? Any issues with the extra weight?

      The tires are amazing. They are a bit heavier but WORTH IT to get rid of the ballooning.
      I had already upgraded shocks though to some pretty legit big bores

    hey Lee I went to this spot and was doing some really big sends going up that jump you are jumping down @ 0:42 with my Big Rock 4s. If you wanna have a super beast Big Rock you can try what I did. 4s Firma ESC 17tooth Robinson Racing Hardened Steel pinion. Recently tried the Granite ties and they have way more grip than the stock Ragnaroks.

      I have a steel spur in my Granite and was thinking of putting on my Axial Gravedigger wheels and tires, but they didn't fit. I was planning to try the Granite tires, but I ran out of time as the sun was going down. Thanks for commenting and hit me up if you'd like to bash there sometime!

      Put on some blue locktite on the threading. That's should help...be sure to let it dry for at least 24 hours.

    Bummer. Never had my big rock wheel nuts fall off. I’ve seen enough TH-cam videos where they lose a wheel nut/hex that I try to always have spares with me. Good video though!

    I have a big rock, it’s pretty disappointing how bad the steering is. Come on Arrma really. All slop.

    • @rcleesd
      @rcleesd  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, they do have a lot of slop, but for the price I'm ok with it for bashing and the durability aspect. There is a ball bearing aluminum steering setup you can put in for about $25 that will take almost all of the slop out. Here is a link for that, if you are interested...www.amazon.com/dp/B07NNRXQ3T/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glc_fabc_HTWARF99GW1644627HZ2
