    I just checked my own car and the same bracket is missing! I never noticed any movement or noises within the engine bay due to this missing bracket but i'll pick up a new one and get it installed none the less. Thanks for the vid. I never would have known.

    Nice.. I built those engines for 7 years.. It wasnt uncommon for that bracket to be forgotten, but the car assembly plant usually found it.

    That bracket installation should have been a call-back job performed by Volvo dealer right after they worked out that this bracket was needed to design.

    • @EarlLeeBird
      @EarlLeeBird 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure but it makes sense that if it was missing then it was fitted as a call-back job by Volvo. It wasn't designed later just for fun...

    • @phellipe82
      @phellipe82 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Mine (2011 XC70 D5 enginge) has the clamp however the join (plastic part of the air intake) was partly broken around the clamp. I think because the massive vibration of the diesel engine. The oil was leaked around the broken part and on the hose-intake connection point as well. I fixed both of them with the gasket maker. It isn't aesthetic
    but fixed the issue.

    So they sells a part that is missing from the factory. Great. Gonna check our d5 for that...
    Also, stupidly placed wiring harnesses is a Volvo thing since ages. Wires bent at narrow angles, metal bracket retaining harnesses bolted to hot engine parts to cook insulators, if not too close to belts or fans, all of these are common since decades. It's a bit annoying but oddly satisfying to route everything back to something neat and tidy.

Thought I had a burst pipe or somenting.

    Hi, first of all thank you so much for your videos, very useful and interesting.
    I am a grateful owner of great XC60 2011 type D4 diesel 2.4 AWD
    Now I have some questions:
    1) where do you buy the parts that you change or install on your Volvo, have a particular website?
    2) In the engine compartment there's some plastics on the sidelines over the wheels where is filled by dust and dry leaves, how to remove that plastics and clean? I have a fear to do a bad move and break some great plastic pins that hold in place that plastics covers.
    3) I hear some noise inside the passenger door, I think that is a plastic moving inside, how to remove the panel?
    4) I would to install a original Volvo XC60 back parking camera, but at the assistance workshop it's too much expansive, what about a self installation, is it too hard?
    Thanks for any answers. Thanks again for your videos.
    Bye
