Hello Dorian. Thanks for the video. This is basically what many contemporary classical artists call a poster study and is based on making averages. It is a good tool for beginners because it has a lot of simplification fire power. However when it comes to doing professional realist drawings, it makes your life suddenly much harder because these averages (especially those in between your extremes), wrong because they are averages, can be very difficult to escape from. Also when something is decomposed (which is always an attractive path), there always needs to be a reasonable method that brings back unity. And when we know how much varied the values in reality are, this can be a lot of hard work. In other words, bringing back unity needs an elegant method too.
