Hurts seeing people literally loosing their best years of life, the 20s on social media, simply scrolling and day dreaming and blaming their lives instead of building a solid career, building a class, getting your dreams checked, and spending their best years with their parents

Some of my friends who don't even reply to my texts on WhatsApp started commenting on my pics and liking my pictures 🤣🤣 matlab itna doglapana laate kaha se hai log?
Plus my besties who are my jaan didn't even upload a single picture of mine on their insta grid ( I am not a fashionable person maybe) but they have posts of their acquittance who are kinda good looking but trash in real life.

Hailing from hill station (Darjeeling), I can say that people here are more or less the same, on the same boat...it's exotic and breath of fresh air for the tourists but not so for the locals...in fact many are suffering from the mental illness which is sad...in real life, everyone's got their own problems but insta helps create the illusion of living the life of success and happiness...no wonder we get miserable and left distraught at the juxtaposition...

When we were in teens or early 20s we use to have amazing conversations, sports, so many other things, we were not even bothered about clicking & recording everything. Thts exactly what I have.. TH-cam and WhatsApp. I got rid off FB and Insta long time ago due to fake and phoney perfect lives being showed by content creators. . I also dont follow ppl on YT that show nothing but perfect happy lives.. Its too good to be true!... I have a channel where I am trying to be grateful for little things in life amidst chaotic daily routine. But ofcourse my channel is progressing slowly... as I am not showing my face or wasting food or doing crazy things to attract people's attention.. But I will try to stick to my mantra of making videos on little things that can be joyful.
I am glad you said this because I was told same and looked down upon by my close friend .. she said to me.. tere paas ab insta nahi hai... tu FB pe nahi hai toh tu karti kya hai? ... I am a mom of a 5 yr old... taking care of a child is so difficult without help. She knows this and she doesn't have a kid... so maybe difficult for her to understand. But kya yehi life hoti hai ? log bina Insta aur FB ke jaise jina hi bhul gaye ho.
The friends that said to you ki tu zinda kyun hai... lol.. tell them because I know how to enjoy zindagi. 🤗

The time wasted on unnecessary and mindless scrolling over social media can instead be used for some productive work/self growth/doing something for the society, etc. I vouch for this since this is tried and tested by me. I have not been on any social media since 2 years. People these days have literally gotten addicted to post every damn thing on social media. As if the primary reason they travel, eat, wear a new outfit, attend a function, go for a party is that they can show to the world that they are living a life. One of the main reasons I quit Insta was because there was too much information to take in. Yes 'too much'! Read about dark web and you will realise how harmful too much information is for our mental health. And then there are also the so called social media influencers most of whom just keep spamming the news feed every now and then. According to me, if we really want our future generations to remain sane, we should strictly avoid the use of such apps which not only waste our time but also create inferiority complex followed by many other problems as rightly pointed out in this video.

I deleted my Insta account back in 2018 as I was preparing for an exam and didn't want to get distracted. For a few days I felt a bit... Emptiness, as I had this habit of scrolling and reading the other writer's posts (because I had a writing account for poetry and short stories, never had a personal account). And when you're in creative realm, you tend to compare yourself with others, and I was into that realm.
So, I quit insta. And believe me that craving of scrolling faded away in few weeks. Although i had some online writer friends, school friends connected with it, I realized, none of that matter. If you want to stay connected with insta friends, better have WhatsApp for that.
    2018 and back to 2022, it's been 4 years and I haven't looked back.

Why should i watch some photo of a guy or girl i dont even know, i am not even going to meet in real life and talk as real friends, instagram just makes you feel insecure when you look at other people's feed as if they are enjoying there life, going to Goa and Alibag but that's not the reality. Well, I did quit social media for last 3 years, and recently got back.
    Here's my take,
Yes, there are negetives to instagram, but nobody asked you to follow certain things or certain people.
People don't know how to use social media to their advantage, how to use it mindfully.
You can bring alot of positivity and information into your life if you are following the right people and influencers.
Nobody asked you to follow people you met 6 years ago.
You can restrict accounts, you can always choose to take a break if you feel like you don't want to know what's up with the world.
I was incapable of doing it once and quit media altogether.
But now I see how it's important for me to have a social media presence.
I share what I want to, don't give a damn about the trends.
And not everybody is same or living the same life, so comparison is real but it's futile.
Once you understand this, it won't bother if someone is partying and you are having a breakdown at 2 AM .
And understand social media shows only the good part of someone's life.
    It's not real.
It's a fantasy world with some fragments of reality.

@@ManjotSingh-sf5qn well it seems legit, when you don't want distractions you simply take a break. If you seriously want to do a proper detox and get in touch with what's real. I suggest you delete your Instagram and don't install until all your urges are gone. Once you get comfortable with the realities of this world ( which insta definitely is far away from ) you will realise how fake everything is on Instagram.
Instagram is addictive so it will be hard initially but trust me in a few months you will love not having a instagram.
Come back only if have understood it's fake af and you have to limit your time it.
Otherwise, you will fall in the same rut again.
It's just take some time off and figure out what you want and don't give into your impulses.

      Networking
      Finding like minded people
      Communities

i was excited too but the recent posts by sandeep maheshwari regarding prashant and the way he dealt with the situation have really made me rethink my views towards him. i feel like we have given him a demi god status and maybe it has gotten to his head. i also cant forget how in one of podcasts, he said "he has stopped reading books" because it seems like he has it all figured out. that statement seemed very ignorant, to have someone of that position say such things was incomprehensible for me . i mean the most intellectual of people- bill gates, warren buffet, elon musk talk about the importance of reading. i believe we as people especially indians need to stop putting people so high up there and idolise someone. so yeah for him to have an interview with an author when he has made such statements would be hypocritical in some sense.

@@farihahkhalidshaikh1535 I agree to you in many ways and especially he is also deviating from his path of not inviting any celebrity on his platform or not going to any celebrities platform or media interview etc. But these days he is just doing anything to increase views on his channel. Also, he criticizes things with an arrogant perspective which is not good as you said even Elon musk and warren Buffett don't do that. So Sandeep Maheshwari's actions and choices and words have started disappointing the intellectuals among us but I hope he doesn't continue that disappointment and anyways most of the Indian public is just a blind follower and they don't have any thoughts of their own so let them do what they do and in our case let's just only follow him or anybody for that matter as long he makes practical sense.
PS: I recommended Mr. Chetan Bhagat for the interview with Sandeep Maheshwari because he (Chetan Bhagat) is far better than any other Indian youtuber for me at this time from practical advice and time "well spent" perspective. But Chetan sir himself is very busy and I don't know if he is willing to do the interview but it will be so much better for Indians to get more exposure to Chetan Sir because he really makes a lot of practical sense.

and youre right, people need to get more exposed to mr. chetan's ideas, his perspectives are really pragmatic and can be applied easily and he talk about topics relevant to our youth. i think he would definitely provide great value to the viewers. so if more exposure means being invited to sandeep sir's session, it would be worth while.

@@elinadas74 : exactly I agree with you this girl preaching something which she can’t follow herself. If she was that great why looking for an attention by typing femina stuff of course she was looking for an attention lol.

Oh btw if you live private life then delete that femina thing from your user name if you are that great lol you are preaching something which you can’t even follow. So just shut up and think before you “speak” miss or mrs hypocrite. You yourself looking for an attention that is why you put that femina thing. What a hypocrite.

I came to my hometown to spend time with my parents they are retired by taking a week holiday and relax but whenever I see Instagram and see my friends travelling the world , laughing, eating , partying ..I get the feeling what am I doing here sitting idle look at these people they are travelling the world I should have taken a tour.. then I realise that this quality time with my parents won’t come again I should enjoy these small things ..rest can wait

Tip for those who enjoy social media but are addicted and feel like they need to delete their account: don’t. You’re taking the easier route. You need to learn self discipline. Figure out what about it makes you addicted. Then fix it. For example if you watch reels all the time you need to stop. Obviously easier said than done but literally stop. Do something else. Read a book, go for a walk, hang out with friends. Force yourself to be productive. As time goes on the temptation will become less and less. Obviously you can delete your account, but sometimes social media can be great if you use it to your advantage (as long as you enjoy the app).

I reduced my instagram screen time from 30 minutes to 10 minutes and will reduce it further. I will focus more on my studies towards cracking NEET PG.
    Thanks for this video.

I deleted my Instagram account 2 years ago during my IIT JEE preparation. And the result is just outstanding. Now I am far far away from the people whose intension is to show up on the social media. At my leisure time I read good novels , meditate , walk in the nature and find myself more productive ever. JUST ONE SUGGESTION IF YOU WANT TO DO SOMETHING FABULOUS THEN DO YOUR WORK IN THAT WAY THAT NOBODY ELSE COULD DO [e.g Deleting all the social media app]

Social media has both pros and cons; one should be mentally strong and clear enough to understand what to follow and what not to. If you focus on good things, social media will change your life for the better, else the opposite!

I’m a 25 year old and being exposed to social medi since I was 15-16 I can totally agree with you point. Getting a time off social media is so relaxing and calming. no fomo, no comparing of lives, better focus and I can go on and on. Although I feel social media is important but we all should know where to stop.

thanks for speaking truth how these social media applications are ruining everyone's life !! people normally envy of others on instagram or most of other social media apps for example twitter but there is too much negativity on it, that's the main reason i left fb, insta, twitter 2 years ago !
