So do I. So far I always add that to the chain even if the tutorial doesn't. I think it looks much neater and seems "sturdier.". I also work into the back bars or "nubs" of the chain because I like the edge it leaves. I usually finish off with a row of SC at the top after the final pattern row.
I love this pattern. I was so glad i found it. I am older now and i still love to crochet but I need more simple patterns. Thanks for this easy and very nice pattern.
I normally do only knitting, because I don't like the 'selfmade look' of crocheting. But because my Hands are hurting a lot now, I started to crochet first time in my life! I love that this 1 row pattern is sooooo easy and looks very nice and exquisite ❤😊 Thanks for all those patterns. Christine
Not long mived and now have a gardenso wNted a lapghan for my chair, got the wool justgot to start itnow, thank you for showing us this pattern, it looks beautiful xx
LOVE this super easy pattern, perfect for someone new at crocheting! Beautiful and the yarn was so nice to work with! On to one of your other patterns!!
Beautiful! How would I get a straight edge to finish? Want it to match 1st row of single crochet. Would I just do single are are there certain stitches that would require a HDC?
Hmm. I loved the scalloped look so I just left it, but I think a single crochet row will straighten it out pretty well. If not, you could definitely sprinkle in some hdc to even things up.
I hold it like a pencil as well and since my great grandmother taught me when I was 6 (52 yrs ago) I can crochet like a machine. Unless I Try to hold my hook differently 😅, then it's like trying to write with your wrong hand!
Same here. I wished I could hold it like a pencil like I more commonly see. It just looks more comfortable yet it’s not comfortable to me. That is pretty
I'm not sure how to contact Daisy Cottage Designs (Lauren), so I'm asking my question here. I purchased her pattern for the Sea Glass Throw Blanket. After working several rows, I noticed that the written out color pattern is different than the pattern shown in the colored stripes. For example, in the written it says 5 rows Spa, then 1 row white. In the pattern shown in the colored stripes it says 5 rows Spa, then 2 rows white. Does anyone know which is the correct color pattern?
Oh oh! I just realized that when I double crochet, I really triple crochet. I don’t do anything small. My foundation chain is 400 chains. It’s just like sewing- I’m either got a seam ripper near me or I’m tearing this out (4 rolls at this point) and basically have to start over!
Merci
Yeah… 4+6 and 4+2 are the same… I was just too tired to realize that at the time. 😆 when I went to finalize the written pattern, 4+2 made more sense to my brain. I’ll have to see if I can add a note to the TH-cam video ☺️☺️
I hold my crochet hook between my 2nd and third fingers and rest my thumb on the flat of the hook, in what I call the Scribe method. Scribes could write for hours so I adopted the same method for my hook, and since I have arthritis in my thumb and wrist this method is best for me. I can’t manage the round barrel hooks, which I have several but I don’t have the pain I use to have! It works for me! ♥️🧶 th-cam.com/users/shortsM40DZKzqiq0?feature=shared
Gotta try this. I really like patterns that start with a row of single crochet.

@@abc-wv4in I also work in the back bump of the starting chain. I like the edge that it creates.
This was my first crochet blanket and it turned out beautifully. Thank you for the clear tutorial.

Is this a double V stitch?😊
I’ve finished my first skein of yarn for this pattern I love it!!!!

Thank you that was very helpful. I think you’re a great teacher.
Love your choice with colors for all your blankets and this is a very pretty stitch……will definitely try this one for next blanket……tks for posting
I love $1 tree yarn! And I learned something new… the wrap around the ruler! Wow! Thank you!
I also was taught crochet by my mom, to hold hook Like a pencil. Her mom taught her the same. I’m 80 years old and still hooking. 😊😊
I'm 77 and I hold my hook that way, too, but I didn't learn to crochet until later in life.
I hold the like hook like this, am self taught. I have large hands and find I have more control this way. Love this pattern
You are such a great instructor, the best 🎉
This is one of the best tutorials I’ve ever seen! Thanks!
this was so easy to follow and relaxing to hear, thank you! it is a pretty pattern!
Gotta make this e. On my way to the yarn store. Great tutorial.
Thank you so much for this lovely tutorial.
You are so welcome!
Love these colors. I noticed that you hold your yarn the same way I do. I thought i was the only person that held yarn like that!
Can’t wait to get started!! You’re a wonderful teacher!!
A great video! You make a good crochet teacher.
Gorgeous! I have a quick question. Do you fill in the end or put a shell on the bottom? TY
Weldone, this turned out wonderful ❤
It looks so pretty, and I love the colours you chose.
Definitely going to make a blanket with this pattern
I love the colour mix and crochet pattern ❤️❤️❤️

I like your work you do a good job me Tina have a good day ❤
Will have a try at this
Beautiful

did you add a edging to this blanket???
I also hold the hook like a pencil. No problem and have been doing this for years.
Thank you for sharing
Nice! Do you use ,cotton acrylic or polyester

@@DaisyCottageDesigns thank you!!! And thanks for the amazing patterns and stitches that you post...🥰
Fantastic tutorial, thank you for sharing.
Such a pretty stitch and love the colors you chose. Certainly on my list to do! Thank you for sharing. ❤gayle
How pretty!! I’m loving the softer colors 😊
Love it! Thanks! 💕💕
Where is the description?
Love it, this will be great for a baby blanket I have to make. Do you have an idea how many stitches I would need. Thank you
I’d do 114 or, I think.
How many rows of each color did you do? So pretty! What is the color change pattern?
If you click the link in the description for the pattern and then scroll down a little, you’ll see the pattern of colors she used. Hope that helps! ☺️
I hold it like a pencil as well and since my great grandmother taught me when I was 6 (52 yrs ago) I can crochet like a machine. Unless I Try to hold my hook differently 😅, then it's like trying to write with your wrong hand!
Love the stitches and tutorial. Quick question- is this the double "V" stitch that I've heard on FB & TH-cam?
No it isn't...Thr V stitch is a separate, and beautiful, pattern.
Looks like granny square to me..
I was taught to do what was comfortable to me and I'm left handed. I hold my needle like a knife.
Same here. I wished I could hold it like a pencil like I more commonly see. It just looks more comfortable yet it’s not comfortable to me. That is pretty
Beautiful! Love it 💜

Does the chain two at the beginning of each row count as the first dc? I may be doing something wrong because the blanket is getting wider.
Thank you so much!!
Beautiful!
How do you finish the blanket? Is there a last finishing row?
I’m going to try making this with only 2 colors. How many rows should I make before changing colors?
Did you know you can slow the video down in the TH-cam settings? That might help!!
How would you finish this to match the other end?
Oh oh! I just realized that when I double crochet, I really triple crochet. I don’t do anything small. My foundation chain is 400 chains. It’s just like sewing- I’m either got a seam ripper near me or I’m tearing this out (4 rolls at this point) and basically have to start over!
How many chains for a twin blanket?
Just do the multiples of 4 till it’s as big as you want then add 2.
How many ply is the yarn? Sorry im in a diff country and yarns are described by ply..
I think it's known as 10 ply??
Can I do more then 130 chains??
What size yarn did you use
Worsted
Does anybody know what kind of border you do on this lap blanket?

Very pretty! I’m confused…video says multiple of 4 + 6, but written pattern says 4 + 2 ???
6=4+2. So the 6 just gives you one more set of 4.
Yeah… 4+6 and 4+2 are the same… I was just too tired to realize that at the time. 😆 when I went to finalize the written pattern, 4+2 made more sense to my brain. I’ll have to see if I can add a note to the TH-cam video ☺️☺️
Do you end the piece by doing a sc across just like the first row.
Beautiful. What is the pattern called please…..

I cant hold my crochet hook like that. My mum taught me to hold it like a pencil. who else holds it like me?
I cannot hold it like a pencil, I hold it like her. As long as you are comfortable it does not matter.
I changed to how she holds it in video cuz of 2 wrist surgeries left less feeling in my fingers. Whatever works for you.
I am a pencil holder too
I do
I hold it like the lady but I wrap the yarn around my left middle finger.
What are the finished dimensions for a lap throw? Thanks!
I suppose it all depends on how many chains of 4 you do. You make the decision on how big or small you prefer it.
How do I change colours? I wish it was shown. Newbie here
Search for it. There are plenty of videos on how to change colors in basic crochet videos. Crochet Crowd and Creative Grandma are good
I can seem to find the written pattern
