I once worked with an arrogant doctor who tried to show off, put the V leads on the right side of the body, all the doctors wondering why the EKG looked so weird, I pointed out you placed it in the wrong side, Yeah he was pissed off with me lol
@@LittleCoakssome doctors are very egotistical and just do whatever comes to mind first without thinking much about it which is why things like this happen. Very stupid mistakes that could be avoided if the doctor wasn’t probably trying to show off how quick they could do it. I’ve worked with doctors similar as well. 😅
You can put the V leads on the right side of th body to get a better look at the and diagnose problem with the right ventricle. The reason we put the V leads on the left side is because our default is to view the left side of the heart where most of the major issues occur. In that regard, you can also put the put the leads on the back to diagnose posterior M.I.'s
for precordial electrode placement, I use the nemonic, Really Young Groups Blame Old People. but I do also like your nemonic in the video. I might have to use it for teaching purposes and leave it up to my students to decide which one to use.
Our ecg has yellow red black and green for the limbs. İ remember red for right yellow for left forearms and green for the left leg and black for the right leg
i'm confused, colors placements are different from what my uni taught me, Red for RA, Black for RL, Yellow for LA, Green for LL, but its different here :(
Dont worry, every uni and facility has different rules, when u become a healthcare provider ur facility will clarify what u should do. But right now stick to ur uni information and NEVER change it according to infos on the internet so u wont lose grades over it.
Because V4 is placed in the 5th intercostal space, midclavicular line and V3 is always placed in the middle between V2 and V4. If we place V3 first and after V4, V3 might not be exactly in the middle.

Oh and you can’t like tell them they’re doing it wrong, you just have to let them fuck it up, either way the get mad at you lol

Why do we skip 3 and then go back to place it after 4?
Because V4 is placed in the 5th intercostal space, midclavicular line and V3 is always placed in the middle between V2 and V4. If we place V3 first and after V4, V3 might not be exactly in the middle.
