    Thanks bud. I've got a 49cc 4 stroke kit i put on my bike ten months ago. I noticed that something in the drive train wasn't disengaging. I took off the belt drive with the bell housing and one of the pads from the clutch tumbled onto the ground. I have a spare engine with a new clutch. Thanks to ur vid i now know how to take off my old one and slap on the new one.

    Thank you for the tip, I need to replace the clutch on my kids pocket bike and then use that half worn clutch on my spare motor that has a clutch that's missing an entire pad.

    You showed EXACTLY what eBay venders can not correctly answer and that is, the taper on the clutch. I'm thinking they're just the middle man and have zero access to the product to check. They all say it's a straight bore, keyway or no keyway. Aren't all of the clutches tapered? THANK YOU for posting on this subject. My recent purchase has a keyway on the shaft but not on the clutch. I was thinking the clutch was slipping but have good shoes. I was wanting the clutch to grab sooner so I think my springs have an adjustment. BTW my clutch drum is scored from possibly the previous clutch. Any comments back would be helpful BIG TIME. AWESOME straight forward video, btw.

    • @fnaguitarplayer9
      @fnaguitarplayer9  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, as long as it tapered it will work with the keyed or non keyed clutches. doesn't really matter. I would try to some lighter springs that will engage earlier and maybe a new drum too, if its worn down to much it will act like the clutch isn't engaging right, I put new clutch and drum on this about 3 years ago i think it was and it made a huge difference. Appreciate that! Thanks for Watching!!!

    I got into motorized bicycles. I ended up with the 4 stroke unit but the clutch is custom... I considered using one of those for a 49cc bc the shaft is tapered but I think the size is different

    • @fnaguitarplayer9
      @fnaguitarplayer9  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I hear ya, i've never worked with a 4 stroke one, i like how they sound though! I figure they have more low end torque then these do. I hear ya! I'd like to have a manual clutch on it. thanks for watching!!!

    Great video. Is there any other way of getting to the clutch. My screws to get to the clutch don't turn with any of the sockets. All of them can't even go fully into the screw, as it doesn't let me go Into the bolt.
    Please help. Thanks

    • @fnaguitarplayer9
      @fnaguitarplayer9  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It should have a phillips drive too, if you have a socket with the screwdriver bits you may be able to use it and put alot of pressure on it. Or if they arent to tight use a open end wrench. Thanks for Watching!

    I just fixed the gearbox on my daughter bike.. now her bike lightly moves without throttle being touched.. could that be the clutch slipping? Or throttle line

      I figured it was about time for some more! I will have 2 more related to it, the next one will be showing how the clutch works, then the 3rd one will be on a common performance modification. thanks for watching!!!

    my clutch seemed to be over stressed they sent the wrong size crank arms in my kit so i choose to run it without peddling .Is that what ruined my clutch ?.One of the clutch plates was snapped and flew of with a spring .Putting a hole in my cas cover.Also there was lots of fine powder inside my case .I hear the 49cc motor kits come with a cheap clutch .Is the belt drive really better?This motor and clutch

    • @fnaguitarplayer9
      @fnaguitarplayer9  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I think there could be something better, these clutches do not hold up very long at all. Not made very good. Thanks for Watching!!!

    in my experience the springs wear out long before the pads. Replacing springs is a bitch though.

    • @fnaguitarplayer9
      @fnaguitarplayer9  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your right there, it is a pain changing them! I bought a clutch one time that had just 2 pads and 2 big red springs, and it didn't want to work at all, and you could adjust the spring tension on it. It had to be fore something else but it fit the crankshaft. thanks for watching!!!

    Where do you buy your spark plug?

    • @fnaguitarplayer9
      @fnaguitarplayer9  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used a E3 plug in this and I just got it from lowes i think it was. But a NGK brand equivalent of a champion cj8 also works great in these. Thanks for Watching!!!
