    I tried the 12 pellet 00 buck and just a little warm for me. I cut the mouth off making it around 2 1/4 in removed 3 pellets for a 9 pellet, super short wad load and 26gr Longshot. Also used lizard litter aka tumbling media aka buffer. Ground walnut shell for buffer also scrubs lead fouling very well. Got two more new guns on Black Friday and got a bunch of shells to break them in with.

    I have and h&r pump 12ga turkey gun. It will eat anything I put into it.
    It was and gift from and family friend. With and .69 ported full choke it is and hammer. Loves the 00 9 pellet loads with bluedot and gun club hulls. I also got and good deal on some federal top gun loads last year. I'm cutting off the crimp.
    Dumping them out. Trimming the gas seal with the pillar to fit the solid Russian paradox slugs with hot glue.
    The lighter one with the hole also works great because the hole allows the extra glue to come out. I have used the factory powder as well as bluedot with and roll crimp. They are about 2.5in over all. And group well out of improved cylinder,rifled chokes and full rifling. I plan on taking at least one deer this year with my own casted slugs and reloads.... it's quite satisfying.
    My buddy says that we should record some of are activities.

      I agree with your buddy.. get some videos. If for nothing else just the good memories. Think about this, Tyler and Josh will always have their videos to look back on and many years from now they're kids and even grandchildren can watch all their many vids. Not to mention the knowledge they've shared.. it's gold.

    A friend of mine made a vary cool 10guage shell for varmints it's a rifle bullet with a cone shape plastic wad with 6 000buck shot pellets behind it like a slap round 50bmg vary effective on any sorts of varmints mostly coyotes and foxes sometimes raccoons if you feel like cleaning up after it or where is left of it

    Just came from a channel who said that the 870 doesn't like 2" shells, but apparently your H&R copy is okay with 2 1/4. I calculate I should be able to get seven of these in the factory tube on my 870 Wingmaster, maybe 10 if I get a mag extension. Since I live in a mobile home, small bird shot is preferred for defense (less overpenetration), but that ought to work in these shorties too.

    • @theshotgunscientists
      @theshotgunscientists  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      100% I’d go with large birdshot. The h&r Pardner pump will cycle 2 1/4” shells just fine. It’s a copy of the 870 but there are small differences. #4 shot would be my go to in a house with small distances between walls.

    • @SilntObsvr
      @SilntObsvr ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@theshotgunscientists I'm not sure there's any practical difference at "across a small room" distances (2-5 yards) between #8 and #4. Both will tend to blow a fairly small (~ 2") hole in whatever they hit at that range. Choke doesn't matter much that close, either.
      Honestly, if someone's in my house, I'm much more likely to grab a handgun than my long barrel 870 (even if I have the shotgun assembled and loaded). A long gun is hard to deal with in a narrow hallway. I keep a .38 Super in my headboard at present, as the best combination of power and capacity (17 rounds, 2 magazines). I'd go with 10 mm, but it's just .40 with a longer case for most of what you can buy...

    I have also found that if you get European primers, such as rio primers it will work. They fit in American hulls as well, just a smidge extra press force. And they work. No problems so far.

    I found one of those rifled 32g single shots for 350cad, sure looks like a guy could have fun with loading things for it. Maybe a bit much $ for it? I'm I allowed another guess for the mystery hole from a couple vids ago? I'm thinking the 50 cal holes are from the rifled 32 g , maybe a round ball or socket slug

I have 1000s of slingshot pellets from .224 to 38 Cal can I run your recipe by using steel shot? Or is there a pressure problem? Shouldn't be they are lighter weight.
