Wade, thanks for the videos you make! I have been reloading for over 40 year's, and I always learn something new from your videos! You show the real how to, do it your self. That no manuals don't. always love to see you brother! God bless! Jus C. Marquez.
Ive been very happy with BPI as well. I ordered their TPS wads for a steel project I'm working on in 12, 20 and .410. They have great prices, as you mentioned, everything arrived quickly and the wads are of outstanding quality. I've made a few up so far but haven't tested the patterns yet. Only thing I'd do different next time is I'd buy the unslit 12g wads. Nothing wrong with the preslit but I realized after working with the unslit 20g, I'd like to be able to cut them to various levels to see how it'll effect patterning. Great video as always.
Thanks Wade, I got a Marty’s .30 #1 mold last year and I have put together some good loads with it. Thanks for answering my question as to why the Winchester 2 3/4” #1 was so hard to mimic, .285 cal pellets definitely explains it…. I tried MANY different component configurations with .30 cal pellets and dang near scratched a hole in my head trying to make it work….🤔
I figured that the Winchester pellets were slightly smaller than .30 cal but was very surprised to find that they are .285 cal! I have loaded some awesome copies using .275/.285 cal pellets!
Man I Love the authenticity of your videos! Very informative and clearly experienced in your art. Keep em coming, I want to subscribe! From Northern Alabama, so understand Beautimus!!!! Love me some Skeeter too!
Fantastic video ..I just got 2 lbs of long shot .Now I have a good recepie for close range deer .Trying to find something that will work for 1 -1 1/4 oz at 1550 /1600 fps ..There was one my friend's dad made at 15 pellets for a 2 3/4 inch hull.Just don't remember pellets and powder .Thank you for what you do .
Great video/knowledge per usual man. If anyone is in the UK. Clay and Game is the place to go for reloading products. And they are referred to as Gualandi super g magnum wads (WAD12SGMAG) and Gualandi H12 wads (WAD12GUAH12) here in the UK/Europe
Right proud of the wife yesterday 112-115 lbs slamming the tac 14 870 with some old estate pretty hot 00 9p buck she hit that popper and slapped it down, shes used to 20g but i knew she could handle it, and handle it she did
Weather man lied here in NC too! We got rain one of the four days they said this weekend and got three inches that day and now we're getting that Columbia heat wave, 90+ for a while. Before there were pools there were sprinklers and I'll be playing in mine!
Last night I found some #0 buck pellets from Graf & Sons. They called it “Pull down buckshot” , best I could tell it is from de-milled shells. It’s a mix of lead and copper plated shot like the #4 buck pellets in your previous video. It’s probably gonna be .32 cal but I don’t have a #0 mold so I’m looking forward to a new size.
@@BubbaRountreeOutdoors That’s great news, I was hoping for under.32 cal. I have mg-42’s and the short green version but I also have some CSD-114’s on order from BP. I’ll be copy cattin’ your CSD video. 😁
With #1 & #0 buck my mossberg 835 hates them and I've used turkey chokes all the way out to cylinder bore. But 00 and 000 shoot amazing. Now with my single shot Steven's 30 inch barrel full them #1 & #0 hold a pattern like a slug almost. 😆 🤣 I use it during primitive hunting season and I love it. I know you say you only put on here what works for you but I've used your exact wads and hulls just different powder and measurement and they work perfect for me also from 2. 3/4 all the way up to 3.1/2
@@BubbaRountreeOutdoors yeah my old 870 did too. I traded it for a 3 1/2 mossberg but it also likes the big pellets. I can't wait to see what your 2023 season is gonna bring you.
The 835 is a 3 1/2 inch over bored barrel .you need the right wad and gas seal to get the performance out of that cannon .I use the 935 but have a fully rifled barrel and shoot slugs only on that monster .BPI has the gas seal for overboard shot guns
Im the mg42 with 33 plus or minus out of round bam, i use my finger or usually a sharpie butt to hold them down or they will want to kinda "pop" up but not bulge the hull and after about the 2nd or 3rd row they stay flat, 14 of them in one of them wads with longshot...hammer hammer hammer
I, I, personally go by feel then look and it always is perfect, you get a feet for what column you have going on after a bit and the preassure ur exerting
Would be nice if you could get BP to send you some of their BAM shot for loading and testing. Most reloaders don't shoot enough buckshot to justify the purchase of a mold/smelter kiln and source the lead...but they would buy a 22Lb bag of shot. I've used the MG42s in the straight wall federal top gun hulls and in the remington sts hulls for 00 9 & 10 pellet loads with LS powder, but you pretty much have to use wad slick for the sts hulls of it'll wrinkle the base of the hull.
Would Cheddite hull and primer, 26gr of Longshot, SSW WAD, 14 #1 pellets, and buffer as you’ve described be an equivalent load to the MG-42 load? Thanks! Love your videos.
Greetings Mr Wade from upstate NY. Really enjoy your videos! First, thanks for the tip, I have gotten lots of great hulls from Bill Kalwas who is just north of where I live. Bill even helped me with some 16 gauge hulls for my old Ithica model 37. I have a question. Have you ever done a comparison between buckshot loads with and without full wads (full wad vs gas seal). Just curious how much it affects the pattern. I don't load for hunting just home defense loads. My favorites are a 27 pellet #4 and a 16 pellet #1 using longshot. Wondered if you had any thoughts.
Do you find that the accuracy of the powder charge is less important in shotshells than when reloading metallic cartridges (6.5CM, 308, 6GT, etc)? ie you need 25.0 grains of Longshot and you pour in 24.75-25.25) a +- 0.25 grains difference than specified.
Can you make a buck shot load out of a 2 3/4 inch Winchester AA using green dot or long shot. I need a deer load. I 13:31 have been a subscriber for 2 years. I have learned so much. Thank you Sir
Do you go through a lot of single o and oo molds and what do you do with the old molds as you replace them ? I'm trying to get a used set of molds in these two calibers I cannot afford new ones.
Between the 1138 and mg42....with bam 00plus, i cant seem to put a load(based off data, and A LOF FROM YOU) it seems like i cant put a 00plus load together in 2&3/4 and 3" without it preforming..just insanely well especially with original buffer
Mr Wade the loads you are putting together you say are 1200 fps. Most of the factory rounds run 1350. How much longshot and weigh shot will you need to get that.
No... Precision buffer is heavier and denser than the BP buffer. So, the Precision buffer can spike pressures more than the BP buffers. You just have to be careful when using the Precision buffer and adjust your powder charges as needed. My formula is to drop around 7% off of the powder charge when using the Precision buffer.
Wade I'm not saying anything bad about your work , I just don't understand why it takes 6 grams more of the Blue dot to achieve the same performance as the other powder for the same load size. Is the powder of the 26 grams a hotter powder than the Blue Dot ?
@@johnwiggins1385 1st off... The measurements are in grains not grams 2nd... The burn rates are different from powder to powder which affects pressure.
@@BubbaRountreeOutdoors ok, I just ordered a bag of those 1138 wads and a bag of mini nitro cards in case I won't to leave off a pellet or two. Had a old ballistic products catalog, prices have gone up!lol
