Hey Steve, its Brian. Thanks for the shout out on the fry basket it looks great. Also thanks for letting my kids chase the grasshoppers at your shop a few weeks ago, they loved it. Good luck with everything.
So many awesome idea's Steve! The evolution of your "outdoors" Wonka empire has been bliss to observe and follow mate! Love it... cheers for another belter of a vid pal!🤙
You are god gifted Steve, when it comes to creativity! Amazing how you come up with new, unique, easy, practical products and put them to use. Wow! ❤❤❤
Great video as usual! I like to make fried donuts with cheap canned biscuits. Heat oil to low frying temp and open canned biscuits. remove a biscuit and make a hole in the center by simply squeezing the center with your index finger and thumb. drop the biscuit into the hot oil until golden brown, turning as necessary to keep from burning on one side or the other. remove from the oil after done. Cheap fast glaze is powdered sugar and whole milk (or heavy cream). start with 1/2 cup of powdered sugar and a tiny bit of whole milk. mix with a fork as it will help break up any lumps of sugar. Keep adding milk (or cream) until the mixture is as thin or thick as you want it. Place donut in the mixture and flip it over to get both sides glazed. These are GREAT at any camp and are always gobbled up by everyone!
Steve....love the knife design and as always your videos. You have a great narrative voice and skill for capturing great scenery/imaging! Keep doing what you do! All the Best from New Hampshire! ............Yummy food Ideas as well!
Thank you for your feedback on the knife, I appreciate it. Thanks for the compliment on my voice as well. Thank you for the support from New Hampshire! Stay safe my friend. 😁
These episodes are so great to watch and very relaxing. And then you realise that you need to spend more money on these fantastic products! Looking forward to the next episode - Thanks Steve
Loved the deep frypan design. Added to wishlist. Knife looks good to me. Securing it with a string gives another layer of safety and stability while operating. Ball-end is amazing idea.
Oh man, another awesome video Steve. the peach pie, the chicken, and chicken enchiladas, amazing. love the fryer basket and I'm glad you got the pizza stone for the cast iron. heading to your website right now🤙 I just read, October for the new products, looking forward.
Thank you! They are great additions to the 5-WAY Cast Iron for sure. I'm excited to see what people cook up with the Fryer Basket. Thank you for your support. 😁
Love the idea on the prototype knife. I would go for a full flat grind for strength and power of the blade. I agree that the tip could have more of a point but make sure it would stand against the chopping. Great vidja on all the new stuff. Keep the engineering and inventing going. God bless!!!!!
Love the family trips❤ this was awesome! And the food i could see the prefection yall were tasting🎉 words cant decribe how amazing the camp yall were at❤
I recently received this five way cookware, got to seasoned it and cooked in it and absolutely love it! Omg! So cool that you're coming out with a frying basket and the baking stone! Wish it was included sooner, definitely am impatiently waiting for that! Lol 👌🧿🙏 Thank you for your amazing products Steve! Firebox has slowly become my entire cooking gear lol 😆 👌🙏🧿🧿🧿
I'm so glad to hear that you've enjoyed cooking in the 5-WAY Cast Iron pans, that's great! The accessories will be out in October sometime. We will email everyone when they are available to purchase. Thank you for your business and support, we truly appreciate it! 😁
@@fireboxstove so exciting! No thank you for amazing unique products! 🙏🙏 I call you the Einstein of the outdoors 😆 amazing mind! 👏👏👏👌🧿🧿🧿🧿 Does the cast iron really need the baking stone? Since cast iron is so good at retaining its heat all throughout? Or would it help to bake in it?
Great job. Easy thing for the pies...a little water on the edges will work like glue and you could do the same thing(pie crust, refries, cheese) and make empenadas..that's how my daughter makes them. I do my enchiladas the same way..green sauce ..thanks for sharing.
I think you should send one of your cast Iron cook sets to Dave Canterbury, I think if the Bushcraft community sees it, it would be a game changer for you, plus, sending him one of your knives, and asking for his feedback, would be priceless.. God bless you brother
Thank you, we'll have to look into that for sure! Dave buys some of our gear and sells it so I'm sure he'd love to test these two products. God bless you as well, my friend!
I really enjoy all of the videos you put out, but the long form videos are definitely my favorite. really love the editing too, you have really improved the overall quality.
Great trip & information. Can’t wait for the Black Friday sale! Literally, I don’t know if I can wait that long! Awesome work bringing these accessories to life! 😁
Thank you so much! 😁 we are getting things ready for Black Friday, it'll be great. I can't guarantee those exact items will be on our Black Friday Sale but if you're on our email list you'll get the best deals available. @@fireboxstove No worries, I’ve got a list going so maybe something on my list will be on sale. Been on your email list for a couple of years now and I look forward to Firebox Stove emails. Thanks for offering us deals throughout the year!
The knife is certainly different but in a good way. My boy actually got a blister last week from chopping with a knife. I've always chopped with the handle rotating forward to give it more velocity and power to cut good. I like it Steve and I'll certainly be in for one. Brown M is good.
That knife. I think you could do two versions, one as it is, and one with more of a point on the tip without that rounded bit on the blade. Such cool new products. 😊
Thanks for sharing the beautiful scenery and family fun. Impressed by another of your great product additions, I'm daydreaming about frying fish beside the bayou. With sides of frenchfries and hushpuppies.
For the knife for more stable grip make an indentation for the thumb👍🏼 to grip also…love the concept and agree more of a point would be good.. Just so love your practical Genius abilities🫶🏼🥰❣️
A little water or milk or egg on the folded seam will seal the seams perfectly. Looks awesome, love my FB!! Can't wait for the fish fry with hushpuppies, or canned biscuits donuts! FB is going to have to put out a diet program to go with the deep fryer!!
I like the concept of the knife. The ball at the end of the handle is an interesting idea. I don't believe any other bushcraft/survival knives on the market today, have this kind of handle. It sounds like an awesome idea for a knife.
Amazing time! Knife feedback; I love the idea of your knife. I say do it. Your desire for a longer pointier blade makes scense and it would make the knife look balanced. Maybe a twine notch blade on the spine would be helpful to cut twine or guylines. I love the ball idea. I can image my hand having a solid grasp on it. I don't know how hard this would be to execute but maybe a flat metal at the butt would be helpful to tap in a stake ot something. These thoughts would make it more versatile. Maybe it can store Hakata spice? Maybe it can store fire starter and you can add a hole or metal ring so you can attach a ferro rod to it. Now it becomes a full on multi use for starting knife!
It's definitely in production we have some finished and are working on more currently! What we don't have finished yet is the bracket to hold the fryer basket in a draining position over the pan. We pretty much have the design nailed down and are just working out production details
Steve love your innovations. As a former pipeline construction safety manager the first thing I thought of, when you were setting up the frying pot, was something that happened to me when I first bought and used a lightweight 5" fire box several years ago. I had it set up on my back porch brick wall, outside, cooking a steak and I remember accidently bumping it and it fell to the ground, spilling the steak, hot coals and fire everywhere. I was not burned, but I could imagine what might happen to a new/inexperienced firebox user who accidently knocks over a firebox with hot oil resting in an open top pot. Just something for your sharp mind to consider, and maybe come up with a method to prevent exposure of this hazard to the user.
Well Steve. I am Canadian, and I love cast iron cooking. It looks like I may have to convince my wife to get me that entire kit for Christmas. I will be spying on your website to see when all these goodies are available: the deep fryer, the cooking stone, the strap carry system and leather carry strap including the .the 5 way cast iron cookware. Once you list them, I will be hinting,,, This video is so nice. Memories like that last two or three lifetimes: in yours, in your children's and in their children's.
Lol that's too funny. Sure appreciate the support! Thank you very much, I really appreciate your comment. That's my hope, to create memories that will last a lifetime. 😊
Not only will you be able to fry fish in the basket but it can also act as a streamer and you can use it as a colander for prep or draining post cooking. Very nice add on.
Hello from michigan again!! We'll be ordering 2 of your new basket fryers i would be interested in your knife design for conoe camping! We love knives. We have a lot! If its for sale id get it also! Field test it and let you know! Usually for a chopper it needs to be thick!! Come on up to michigan ill take you down river!!!
That's awesome and thanks for your feedback about the knife! I'm having a blast with this fryer basket! I had no idea of the possibilities! And thanks for the invite! I would love to see some of the other beauty in this country
Oh fantastic, another product I'll have to get... I love it. The fryer basket that is. The knife on the other hand ( Pun? ) looks awkward. I really like your/my Firebox folding chefs knife. How about a Firebox ChuckBox?... On wheels? Seems like a natural for all the Firebox kitchen gear I've been collecting. Have a day.
Interesting knife design! It's unique enough that it will likely cause mixed reactions. What kind of steel and handle material are being used? You mentioned brown Micarta, which I think is a great suggestion.
Yes I'm sure it will be polarizing to say the least. We are considering toning down the ball. Something that offers similar function without looking so peculiar
I’m glad you were able to get the whole enchilada…;) That knife def needs a little more length and a pointy tip. Looks like it could double as a fishbonker too…
This might sound stupid to you but if I had that I’d like the bottom of the ball with enough extra steel it could be used as a light weight hammer. Yes I’m the guy that uses tools outside of their intended use. Lol! Honestly even a multi tool doesn’t offer a hammer!
What a beautiful backdrop for trying new recipes! Awesome additions to the 5 way set. The handle seems like a great design. Tell me, do you come out of that stream covered in silt? Lol
Thank you for the feedback on the knife, not sure how it would work with small hands. I have average hands and it works great. We are super excited about the Fryer coming in October. 😁
So inventive! Try "crimping" with a fork on a hard surface, like a cutting board. - Edit: I think you discovered the fork-method already! The ball end of a knife or sword is a pummel, I believe.
Hard to say from just seeing it.i always thought that the more open your hand was or the thicker the handle it would reduce your grip . I wonder if your would get fatigued holding large ball like that (taking into account hand size ) . Most big choppers have thin grips with large flares on the bottom of the hand to stop from slipping . Maybe experiment with ball size or add fist the finnest bit of tapper at the top of the ball but the hand grip would move from the ball to just infront . Love that your making an outdoor knife and as always specific to your kits .
Thanks so much for your thoughtful feedback! I totally get what you're saying about holding a large diameter item versus a small diameter but I think a lot of that has to do with your thumb and fore finger. With this design your thumb and fore finger come together very tightly with the ball behind in the palm of your hand. It's kind of hard to describe but it feels very secure and comfortable when chopping.
I prefer the control of a chef’s knife. If I am chopping I’ll just use smaller quantities. The concept is cool but personally I will stick with my chefs knife. I’m dreaming about fresh doughnuts at camp with that frying basket though!!!
I know the context was confusing... The knife with the ball end handle is intended for bushcraft / camping tasks. The knife I used to cut the watermelon is our folding chef's knife. It has a thinner blade symmetrically ground from edge to spine. It cuts veggies very nicely, folds up and is quite lightweight. Thanks!
You bet! It could also work as a colander to drain your veggies or configured as you described with veggies on top steaming. We also thought it would make a good trivet for hot items on a table. 👍🤠😎
I'm going to go contrary here and feel the knife design is a solution waiting for a problem. If I really need to chop I'll bring an axe or hatchet. If I need to split pieces into kindling I can just baton using a fixed blade. A larger fixed blade will work to limb small branches.
Hello, I enjoy your videos and products. I have a few items in a cart right now, but I wanted to purchase the deep fryer as well as the carrying strap, but they are not on the website, that I could find. When will they be listed so I can complete my purchase. Thanks in advance.

I hate you! You never bugger up a meal. I always mess them up. Years ago you did a video with you and your wife on a camp out. You made this chili and I gotta tell you that is the best chili in the world. I purchased Box Pot, the folding chef knife, and the Bushcraft cookware on Kickstarter. My wife loves using the Dutch oven. She made some awesome-tasting bread with it. Please keep up the videos. I say I hate you out of jealousy. I love your videos.

This might sound stupid to you but if I had that I’d like the bottom of the ball with enough extra steel it could be used as a light weight hammer. Yes I’m the guy that uses tools outside of their intended use. Lol! Honestly even a multi tool doesn’t offer a hammer!
Hey good idea! I appreciate the honest feedback and there's nothing wrong with using tools for multiple uses. 😁 have fun out there!
What a beautiful backdrop for trying new recipes! Awesome additions to the 5 way set. The handle seems like a great design. Tell me, do you come out of that stream covered in silt? Lol
We are excited about the new 5-WAY accessories! Thanks for the feedback and support. 😁
12:48...that knife 🔥🙌🎉🎯
Glad you like it! 😁
25:55...masterpiece of a casserole
Thank you very much!! 😁
That fryer is so cool! The whole set really.
I like that the knife is a full tang, not sure about the ball, especially for smaller hands?
Thank you for the feedback on the knife, not sure how it would work with small hands. I have average hands and it works great. We are super excited about the Fryer coming in October. 😁
Excellent video as always!
Could you tell me the brand and model of your Camper trailer?
Cheers,
Ken.
Thank you very much Ken! It is an Overkill 5x10 custom made slide out. Thanks for commenting! Cheers to you as well.
Ok just take my money now 🤣🤣🤣
Lol I'm glad you enjoyed!! 😁
Loving the knife. Love the ball handle. Make me feel like a real outdoors man using that. How much does it or will it cost.
Thank you for the feedback. I sure appreciate it! We don't have a price for the knife yet, we are still working on that. 😁
@@fireboxstove it’s fun watching you grow your company. I’ve been watching since you did the every Wednesday videos.
I want it all!!! Maybe the basket should be slightly higher?
Thank you for the support. 😁 we will actually have a way to raise the fry basket out of the oil a little more. It's coming up.
@@fireboxstove love it. Waiting for thisbto drop so I also can get a freestyle.
it interesting knife idea. i would like to have one. Good for pounding garlic or pepper?
I'm sure it would work for that. You'd have to be super careful as it's very sharp. Thanks for the comment and feedback!
So inventive! Try "crimping" with a fork on a hard surface, like a cutting board. - Edit: I think you discovered the fork-method already!
The ball end of a knife or sword is a pummel, I believe.
Thank you for the feedback, I appreciate it! 😁
cool❤❤
Thank you! 😁
Hard to say from just seeing it.i always thought that the more open your hand was or the thicker the handle it would reduce your grip . I wonder if your would get fatigued holding large ball like that (taking into account hand
size ) .
@@fireboxstove gotchya . The two strongest digits at the top of the ball and bottom of the handle !
Steve would it be possible to make the fryer basket a little taller to increase the capacity?
The tree at 23:19 looks just like a dear 😮
I prefer the control of a chef’s knife. If I am chopping I’ll just use smaller quantities. The concept is cool but personally I will stick with my chefs knife. I’m dreaming about fresh doughnuts at camp with that frying basket though!!!
I know the context was confusing... The knife with the ball end handle is intended for bushcraft / camping tasks. The knife I used to cut the watermelon is our folding chef's knife. It has a thinner blade symmetrically ground from edge to spine. It cuts veggies very nicely, folds up and is quite lightweight. Thanks!
@@fireboxstove thanks for the clarification!
The chicken is cooked so well that the meat is falling apart. Bon appetit
It turned out delicious for sure! Thank you for watching.
I never liked spam, but I love the hot & spicy spam.
Nice!!
Floating in, what looks like, chocolate milk 😮
All that mud and dirt, definitely makes it that way. 🤣
Dip your finger in water then swipe on dough edge and then crimp the dough edges and they’ll stick better.
Thanks for the suggestion! I'll have to give that a try. 😁
Regarding the knife: good design except for the ball end on the handle.
Thanks Mr winger!
The deep fryer can it be use as shelve say cooking a stake and putting the stake on top and the vegetables underneath doing a strew etc ?
You bet! It could also work as a colander to drain your veggies or configured as you described with veggies on top steaming. We also thought it would make a good trivet for hot items on a table. 👍🤠😎
The watermelon!
Delicious!! 🍉
I'm going to go contrary here and feel the knife design is a solution waiting for a problem. If I really need to chop I'll bring an axe or hatchet. If I need to split pieces into kindling I can just baton using a fixed blade. A larger fixed blade will work to limb small branches.
Thank you very much for the honest feedback, I truly appreciate it! 😊
Knife ball 👍🏾 $mart 4 long blade effect, portable.
Thank you for the feedback! 😁

Lol I get it. Believe me there are sometimes mess ups that happen. I'm glad to hear ya'll have enjoyed the Chilli, that is awesome! Keep up the great meals and thank you for your support!

Man, I want to buy all your products!! But, being Canadian, I have to pay so much extra for Customs and monetary exchange rate. 😣
I completely understand that! Shipping is horrible now a days. You can try one of our Canadian dealers here: fireboxstove.com/dealers/ they may have cheaper options for you and be able to order in what products you are wanting.
What kind of sandals are you wearing.
They are Bedrock sandals and they work great! 😁
