Artest had his ups and downs but through it all he has been a beacon for the tireless crusade on mental health. I grew up watching his progression in and out of the league and to see that he is being a supporter for this is an awesome thing...
Artest’s contributions to the Laker’s 2010 championship is so undervalued. People act like it was Kobe, Pau and a bunch of scrubs, which is far from the truth.
As a Celtics fan I must agree. It was more Pau and Artest killing us in that series than Kobe. Metta hit the dagger, and his defense on Pierce was huge. He had the versatility to guard Ray, Paul or KG at a high level.
The great Kobe not having grudges. He knew that having Artest will make the team tougher and it paid off with another champion ship. Too bad the Dirk and the Mavs has different plans sweeping them the following year. Could've been an awesome threepeat without Shaq.
Kobe was the perfect teammate to kinda reign him in at that point in his career. You had other star wings of the time who were clearly better than Ron like Pierce, Lebron, etc. but Lebron didn't have the seniority, and Pierce didn't have that larger than life aura around him to keep him in check. They still would have had to get through OKC which is no easy task. Artest probably had as good a chance as anyone at slowing down Durant though. It would be a major strength mismatch, and he could certainly fuck with him mentally/scare the shit out of him. Or just do what he did to Harden!
His college coach acting crazier than Artest to calm him down is one of the most genius personality management tactics I have ever heard of from a coach
I would say NBA player ron artest knows how to play hoops. He is also plays basketball with an attitude and his defensive plays are ridiculous. You should know that basketball is played with street mentality. The league is usually goes with tryouts and has plenty of journeyman. Pickup games can give you exposure and unlike wrestling they aren't flashy or use catchphrases in the game.
I saw him elbowing and punching people for no reason late in his career (in Italy and China when he was preaching about mental health issues). But I never saw him apologize to htem or for his behaviour. I had both depression and anxiety and I never punched people because of that neither did I had enough money to see as many doctors and be celebrated because I talked about my problems.

Beautiful career. He had his ups and downs... ultimately a champion on the court and off the court with mental health advocacy
If malace at the palace didn't happen Ron Artest would have multiple All NBA and All Defense selections.
"He never passed me the ball, and he passed me the ball. Kobe passed me the ball"😂 so iconic
I'd like this comment, but it's @ 24 likes which seems too fitting.
@@mentok3027 well not anymore people should've just left it at 24.
We’ll Ron, you sucked at shooting threes all year. You were westbrick before Westbrook. Love you world peace

He was the MVP of games 6/7.
Still the best game I have ever seen on tv.
Yes! Thank you for these wonderful productions. I'd like to request for a bigger TV though 😂
I love it when you guys write these love letters to the players and fans. Way to go guys!
Rodman and Artest sitting down and talking bout all the things they did.
@TheRealBandito imagine both of them telling their stories. Id watch that
He has one of the best songs in NBA 2k's soundtracks IMO with his song Champions in 2k11
Metta is a legend. Another great video!
Amazing player and personality. Have to love his attitude as a teamplayer. Big for Lakers in that 2010 championship run.

he's their 'rodman'

75K subscribers but this channel has the production quality of a channel with multi-million subs.
He broke my heart as he broke the celtics' back in game 7 of the '10 finals. But big respect to his mental health campaign
Great story! Great job on the presentation. Subscribed
Great piece
Artest was such a batshit insane talent. He definitely deserves first ballot hall of fame recognition.
And he went batshit crazy at times.
TH-cam when Artest does a weather forecast in Vancouver. Did a whole tour around Vancouver Island. Cool guy
So nobody gonna talk about artest majoring math in college?
I loved Meta. I wanted him to do well. When he moved to the lakers, I admired Kobe for nurturing his talent, even though Ron was a year older.
Always have love for this guy since he entered the league.....
Following the Malice in the Palace incident.
Ron Artest to Stephen Jackson: "Jack, you think we going to get in trouble?"

Goes crazy, puts down several people with heymakers, then asks are we gonna be in trouble 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Artest

He elbowed Kobe in the neck? No it was the other way around. I don’t blame him for being pissed at Kobe
Metta World Peace > LaMelo
