  • If you're a relatively new NBA fan, you might know Paul Pierce simply as the former player turned analyst trolling your team and getting clowned by his colleagues. But for students of the game, or those of you who've been around long enough to have witnessed Pierce's Hall of Fame career, you know … The Truth.

Think it’s more of a combination of people forgetting and his arrogance in his later career and ignorance/idiocy on ESPN overwriting their view of him. So in summary it’s part people forgetting and part him being an arrogant dipshit making people forget.

One of the most underrated players of all time. Could score from any where on the court. Had no weaknesses offensively. Could drive, post up, pull up from mid range, hit the three on and off the dribble, come off picks. He had the whole arsenal. An above average defender rebounder and playmaker. A top 10 clutch performer of all time as well. If these kids only knew how good he was in his prime

The immensity of his playing career is inversely proportional to his career as an analyst. Being fired of ESPN saved his legacy.

Paul Pierce's athleticism is so difficult to put into words - he looks like a chubb & moves like an agile fat man and then he explodes and dunks it.
The motions of his body look slow and then he just blows by people or gets his own shot the way he wants it.

I remember when I was an assistant coach at Inglewood high school, I was passing the ball to Paul this was his sophmore year and I said you have a head like a guy I played college ball with, he said who, it was his brother Jamal Hosey. Thereafter I watched him developed and I told him if he could play hard and go hard all the time, he could be phenomenal. I played with John Williams who was arguably the best to come out of LA. Then one day assistant principal told me that paul will be an all american in college and a high scoring small forward in the pros. I did not see after thinking of others such as baby jordan harold minor then we played compton dominguez a nationally ranked team that featured nba player Prince and his brother. Paul put on one of the best quarters in basketball history offensively and clearly played like a man among boys in the defeat. I was convince he controlled his destiny to greatness. Every year I would bump into him as a pro during the summer league and he kept getting better and better. Then he just went to a whole different level then to the hall of fame. So proud of him to represent Inglewood the way he did.
