Target to lower prices on thousands of items to lure shoppers

- Target is the latest retailer lowering prices in the push to satisfy budget-conscious shoppers. The big box retailer is cutting prices on 1,500 items including groceries, with thousands more to come. NBC’s Vicky Nguyen reports for TODAY.

Ppl aren't buying as much due to price increase and the stores are forced to throw those perishables away.
I went to Target today. I found the same overpriced junk. Target CEO should try to shop at Target once, he will be disgusted by quality and price.
More useless items on discount, doll hangers, flimsy ice trays, chip clips, pretty much what’s on “sale”

Our neighborhood Target remodeled and upgraded to a high end looking store a while ago. I felt that their prices got higher then. With inflation, they became even more. I am glad to hear lowering prices even a little
They also have the strategy of "we'll raise prices, make crazy profits and when the general public finally starts to get really mad and stop believing our excuse of blaming it on "Inflation", we'll cut prices on * some * items to placate them. Even though the prices we cut are still higher than they were before we started gouging."

I was in target this a.m. and I didn't see any price changes. NONE! Usually you see prices with orange tags and signs saying it's discounted. NOPE. Not at my target.
McDonald’s is literally the same price as an ACTUAL burger now a days lol. No thanks if I’m spending that much money I’ll eat a real cheeseburger and not their fake, highly processed ones. What idiots. Also as a millennial, I don’t think we’ll ever be able to own a home and afford a family 😤
You are so right! I'd rather buy a pound of ground beef and make my own for a whole family. McDonald's wants 11 dollars for a big mac now! Then they want to charge for extra ketchup! Seriously they charge for ketchup now. I'm not paying 20+ bucks just for a burger and fries. Burger King is actually worse! They want 12 dollars for one Whopper with cheese! Insane!

For one regular cheeseburger, small fry and a small drink costs 20$ at McDonald's now. They even charge you for extra ketchup and napkins. And one Big Mac costs 11 dollars now! My McDonald's days are OVER. Never again.

Clipping the digital coupons at Kroger family stores and Walmart are about the best ways to go. Wish there was an Aldi's around here

Discounts on the already high prices. That is a drop in the bucket for them. They aren't doing us any favors either bc all the other prices on on other items are rediculous too.

I only shop at Amazon. My days of Target and Walmart including every other place and malls are officially over. I haven't been in a mall ever since the pandemic started and I don't ever wanna go back. What's the point? You can have everything delivered to your house! We don't even eat out anymore! And it's no wonder the 99 cents store completely went out of business. People were robbing them left and right! HELLZ NO. I'd rather get everything delivered to my house. I can even do my doctors appointments from my own bedroom!🤣🤣

I'll give it a chance ... as soon as the price changes hit Target, I'll do my normal shopping and compare the final total bill to my usual, and see how much difference there is. No reason to think this is anything more than an attempt to bring in shoppers, so why not check it out.
