Moving every year takes a toll on you. It’s such a hassle to pack and unpack everything, set up services, and change addresses for everything. That’s why I try to move to a place and stay there for as long as my budget allows.
I admire anyone who spends $3350 a month to rent a place for the cat to live in. 😻😻😻😻 As a reward, the cat lets you stay in the place rent-free! (also allow you to enjoy doing things like opening cans, scooping litter, grooming, brushing, and other stuff)
I really agree with the mental space comment. I recently moved into a bigger apartment and it was the change I needed especially working from home and my cat loves the change too.

Suppose "luxury", like many things in life, is subjective. I mean, the den is nice ( which admittedly isn't always standard equipment in a one bedroom) and appliances seem new, but outside of that, I don't see what's luxury about it. It just seems like a nice place. What about it is luxury to you?
@@grownsimba8120affording to pay 3K just for rent and having more money to spare for other expenses it’s a luxury for a single person. I can’t afford to live alone and pay 3K just for rent but I would love to do so one day! Sharing with roommates is a nightmare especially when you grow older !

Absolutely insane that the rent is $3350/mo. I rented a 1br apartment in DT bellevue in 2011 when I started my first SWE job out of college and the rent was $1200/mo.
I live in Kirkland. I pay $1,800/mo for an 850sf 1bd apt with w/s/g included. It's nice. It's not some moldy dingy old apt. Walking distance to the waterfront. I can also afford $3,350 but why? Saving so much money living cheap. I'm ready to buy a house right now. Just waiting a bit longer to see how the market plays out.
Bellevue is VERY expensive. I live just 10 min away, in Redmond, also a VERY expensive town. But if tech companies like Microsoft, Amazon ever leave, this place is done.

Living in Seattle is terrible I work 70 hours a week make a decent wage and can't keep up with the cost of living I am pretty sure that 3350 don't include utilities or parking you get the roof in exchange for eating half the time. One thing I will say is having a place like this to live is the only safe place to relax because once you leave the house you are in constant danger in the city the homeless and mental illness drug addicts have taken over outside is full of zombies just a few weeks ago someone stabbed 13 or more people just walking outside for no reason at all in the middle of the day and don't forget it gets dark here at 330-4pm so getting home before dark is rare it is usually dark when I leave for work and dark before I get off.
I was born and raised in Lewis County. I spent 42 years working in and around Seattle. No way am I ever going back. No way...if you can escape that place with your life you made it..the crime, traffic jams, and extremely rude people are terrible. It used to be Beautiful now a garbage dump.

if you want sun all day, get south facing because the sun rises in the east and sets in the west on a slight angle. Don't get north, it doesnt work the same way. If you're lucky to have a south facing balcony, you can even grow a garden

I can relate. I looked at a new apartment today that offered more space, as I wanted a separate office or study that doesn't take away space from my living room. I like that she didn't feel the need to clean-up her apartment and allowed it be messy, as that is the typical norm that we truly live in. Much of life is allowing your emotion and mental condition to be free and not restricted, so I appreciate her decision to find a bigger place.
I’ve lived across the way at the Venn the last 7years. It’s amazing how things clutter up and glad to see your look at Blu. Your cost is way too high though! However, we don’t have AC in our apts at the Venn so that must be nice.
I used to live in the Lake Hills area of Bellevue in the 80's.. We rented a four bedroom home for $460 a month. You should be able to get that and more for $3k a month.

Nice unit! How much is parking per month? If your unit was a condo in Bellevue, your HOA fee will be $750 or so.. go to the Container store near by and just start organizing. Love your place! So proud of you!

You are paying for location and being in the heart of an upper scale city next to a major city. I live in a less "posh" suburb south of Seattle, a 20 minute drive to Pike's Place, and I pay $1100 for 850 square feet which includes a giant balcony. The only difference is no wood floors and we go to bed every night staring at popcorn ceilings. lol I would love a separate room for the litterbox, however!

Bellevue square area is expensive to live. Had a gf that lived there in a couple different apartments. Rent isn’t cheap. The upside is the conveniences within very short walking distances.
Times have changed... I lived in downtown Bellevue near Bellevue Square mall in the early 2000s and paid $675/mo for a large 1 bedroom condo... I can't imagine renting today...

This apartment is simply gorgeous 😍! But the price for it is very high by my standards. For me, renting an apartment worth $ 400 a month already seems prohibitive, because this is more than half of my monthly salary. I wish you a successful move! I used to live in Seattle. Moved to TX. Bought a 3300 square foot house. Mortgage is $1850 and property tax is $850. You have to make $200k to survive in Seattle.
Wow. I just bought a 850 square foot house (similar to your apt interior) for $55,000. I added new furniture, so a total of $63,000. You would pay more than that after 2 years of renting there (near Seattle).
What is your 9-5 gig? May not be luxurious but you live in a skyrise apartment with a view. I think if you rented one that is traditional on the ground it would be more like 2k+ .. I live in so cal where it’s insanely expensive but the ones on the ground here range from 2200-2500 1 br .. some are studio (luxury) and the ones skyrise are similar to what you pay. Then we have the skyrise condos that are millions on millions of dollars. Let’s just say I live in what you call mini Silicon Valley hint hint

That's very expensive. My daughter rents an apartment the same size in Woodinville area, around 2300 per month, brand new, which I consider expensive. Meanwhile, I have a rental house (old building but overhauled this year) near Factoria Mall, current rental is just 3200 per month.
I don't live that far from you but we are worlds apart. I live in Gold Bar down highway 2. If you hike the Lake Serene trail then you'll be in my back yard.
But the traffic on hwy 2 is horrible, especially in the summer coming back from Lake Chelan on a motorcycle. Ben Howard rd helps a little to bypass some traffic getting back to Redmond Ridge. ✌️

My mortgage is about a third of this apartment with three times the space. Insane the prices people pay but if they grew up in this type of area, it is probably normal for them.
Jenn 1 word of advice from someone across the internet in NY.. think about suburb living & commuting.. that way Howl gets a mansion. ;) Oh and you can have a bigger kitchen too!
Why move once a year? I guess if you thrive on change then that's a good thing. Most of my moves were international because I traveled a lot in my career. The hardest part of the move was shipping my cat. Lots of red tape and headaches shipping a cat internationally.

there's something called pet rent in seattle. I think when i lived in seattle it was $25 per cat a month
