I spent two years studying EMS at university as a part of my undergraduate studies. I can say with confidence that EMS is very effective during both pre-hab and re-hab phases surrounding exercise. HOWEVER... to claim it stimulates the benefits of hours of exercises is ludicrous

@Jan Schlossar You're delusional if you think you're going to get 'toned up' or fit, or anything, with 20 mins of EMS/week. EMS should be used more for recovery and for creating neuromuscular connections with inactive muscles. Just work out normally and forget those EMS 'workouts', they're crap and over-complicated, difficult to target full muscle groups, deep tissue, etc. And they're not very well studied. You don't obtain any of the muscular gains or cardiovascular benefits of a normal session.

Jan Schlossar You can’t tone muscles per se. All it takes to have visible muscle is to lose adequate body fat. You could be plugged into that Frankenstein machine for weeks but if you’re a slob you’ll still look like a potato at the end of it

She assumed they were going to be like most people who come in the tank and crack under pressure and settle for devaluing their business more than it should be, enable Janine to get a few extra points out of the deal. Her inability to negotiate and reliance on them cracking under pressure lost her the deal.

Janine is the most greediest shark ever, with the most preposterous valuations. She doesn't even value the company at the previous years' sales, whereas companies are usually evaluated at a 4x-5x of the previous year sales. I always pity for all the businesses that invest with her. I am really happy that this company knew their value, and did not take an offer from Janine. If I were to ever grow a business of mine, and go to Shark Tank, I would take a deal from anyone but Janine.

She took 15 per cent for her cousin though! (I'm referring to a particular episode where a cousin of hers pitched a dog sanitation products line).
Because this isn't a charity show. And sometimes that poker play works and entrepreneurs sell out way more equity than they were prepared to just to "stay in the game" and score the deal. And when it doesn't work, who cares, there's another guy with a pitch coming through that door in a few minutes. Honestly, this show is like fishing in a barrel for investors.

I agree i have not seen much of this system in Europe. But we have a different platform system that is in every 'Puregym' in the uk. Puregym has 3 million members. So maybe there is some market for it. Personally I have tried it and don't think it does much more than warm up the muscles.

pretty much yes because thats the only way their company will be profitable, but there are actually guys like brad rowe (pro bodybuilder) who use a similar device IN ADDITION to weightlifting with his clients. brad said he bought his device from a medical supply company and paid like ~ $ 30,000 for it, but his clients, who are top of the top level bodybuilders, have had really really good results. brad uses the machine during weight lifting movements. so you would put the equipment on, and then do like a bench press. they say you get a a lot more muscle activation. i questiont how effective this would be if this were youre only form of strength training though.

I live in Mexico and I actually took a test class of 25 min with the suit and all , of basically the same product but it had a different name. In the moment you're working out (25min sessions) it does hurt but I wasn't even sore at all the next day, and I don't work out at all (I'm slightly chubby BMI 26 ) So, yeah, doesn't work. Not to mention it was RIDICULOUSLY expensive
This technology isn't exactly new, it has just been refined over time. Bruce Lee was using "FlexTone" on his stomach to simulate sit-ups back in 1972.

Update: They have an annual revenue of 5M$ as of the year 2019, i couldn't find a more recent update. However tbh i was expecting Glen to be involved taken he's kinda of a doctor, and definitely not for 33%. This thing will sell it self, anyone who knows anything about fitness will know that. The fact that Glen was sweating, you can tell that there is actually something going on there. With how less and less people have time to do exercise, this is kinda the future. After mass adoption, this will explode and new competitors will enter the market. Yes, it is not exactly like a full workout, but your muscles are moving, being stimulated, it is better than nothing. Now imagine a home kit. Expensive, but space saving and with the right cost, its only going up. Im honestly very surprised that they didnt see the value in rehabilitation, army staining, space... good for them for not taking the bad offers

Not possible. NASA has criteria on what kind of equipment goes into ISS. This doesn't look like it passes the test.
They do workout in space though, because of the issues that you mentioned. So, this doesn't make any damn sense. Also, there are no shortcuts or replacements for a good workout session. Anyone who tries to sell you that is bullshiting you.

I used to have one for abs and it was not only uncomfortable, but also useless.
